Welcome boymom5, teacherlisa, destined2bmom, cycworker, @sunnycamom, Ryann, natscraps, christinec68, justjac, Chinagirl828, schroema, grammadee! How IS everyone? ? Hoping this will be a good quarter for everyone, crafty or not! I'm sure we're all feeling the effects of improving weather (should be good world round, right? Fall in Australia, Spring in North America?) and a bit of adrenaline let down from the "new" team structure for last quarter. Honestly, I've had so many projects to complete the past 3 months I'm really hoping to get back into some "normal" scrapbooking, but will likely have way less points this quarter. But that's NOT what this is about, right? RIGHT? Our team is about encouraging each other to enjoy our crafting in whatever form that takes. Remember, even if mojo is low and you are down to watching crafty you tube videos - that counts for 10 points/hour. Keep the crafty in your life! So yes, I am home with covid. No, that is not an April Fool's day prank After dodging it for 2 years while literally snuggling up with covid patients at the hospital, I caught it from DS who caught it from DD who brought it home from the dance studio. I'm actually glad to get it over with It packs a little more punch than I expected, but not as bad as the actual flu, and I've had my 2 roughest days I think and am on the mend. I notice we have a good mix of American's and Canadian's in our group, coast to coast, and a token Aussie As an ice breaker and to make sure everyone is "here", give a reply and tell us if you've lived anywhere other than where you currently live! I was born in Ontario but moved to BC right on the coast, right on the border of the US, when I was 7. Stayed there for all my university. Then moved back to Ontario when DH did his grad school here! Then we had kids, and prices started to skyrocket, and we just stayed put. Not that I don't love it here. But the "Pacific North-West" is truly a spectacular playground. **please post some challenges in the challenge thread! **how did you feel about the number of challenges last quarter? Good for inspiration? Or did you completely ignore the overwhelming list? Finally - the best joke I heard about the Oscars (and maybe you've all heard this one now...) What's on Chris Rock's face?
Fresh Prints
Excited to get this quarter started!

Good morning from the west coast. I have never lived anywhere other than the US and the state I was born in. I love where I live. Beaches, mountains, and desert all 1 hour away. We get all 4 seasons, just not like the upper east coast. But our trees turn pretty colors. Lots of great museums. Parks. Nature preserves.
As for challenges, I pretty much stay away. I did 2 or 3 of the 28-4-28 challenges. I just like to concentrate on what I am currently working on and be free to go with the flow rather than worry about a check off list.

I did get to all the 28-4-28 challenges, and some were truly a challenge so I'm glad I tried them. But most of the time I create what I'm creating then check the list afterwards to see what I hit

Greetings from NE Alberta. I was born 10 miles from where I live now, and grew up another 20 miles away. Have lived in different towns, but never in a different province or country. We are supposed to have four seasons here, but spring is kinda a dud--those few weeks between when the snow is gone and the mud dries up. The other seasons are pretty recognizable. I like the wide open spaces and fresh air where we live. I like having a house big enough that when the kids come here with their own families there is still lots of room for everyone. I can be a Jekyll/Hyde personality when it comes to challenges. I have been known to "chase" bonuses and extra points. But for the most part I do what you do, kitbop. I scrap what I scrap and look up the points later. I am pretty visual, so am probably most drawn to sketches and to the pages other people do in response to challenges. I have an Easter joke my dgs told me: What stories to Easter Eggs tell their children? YOLK tales!

TGIF Team!! I can't wait to get started with the new challenges!! It seems we all tackle them in a similar way -- make first and see what matches up. Although, I do wish I paid a little attention to the challenges - I missed the MEGA bonus by 6 challenges. Argh!!! And it seems I didn't fully grasp what was included in the organizing & crafting time. I liked having a variety of challenges but I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of them. I'll try to come up with a few to get on the points board. I've spent all but one year living in various neighborhoods of Queens, NY. I lived on Long Island for 6 months (approx 5 miles from where I am now) and 6 months in Philly but essentially, I am a queens girl. kitbop - thanks for being the team leader and I hope you're feeling better soon.

Hello from the token Aussie! I'm only living a couple of hours away from where I grew up, I moved to Melbourne to go to uni and never left. I'm not averse to living somewhere else, although I'm definitely the kind of person who likes to put down roots, but my DH lives only a few minutes away from his childhood home and has no desire to live anywhere outside Melbourne. I make up for it by travelling instead. I am not a fan of the weather turning cooler, today is supposed to be 20C but it feels far from it. I'm already counting down to spring. I don't usually pay any attention to the challenges, the counting points just sucked the joy out of creating page for me, so I always claim easy peasy points now.

And it seems I didn't fully grasp what was included in the organizing & crafting time. I think a lot of people missed out on taking their points for their crafting/hobby hours. Because I spend so.much.time crafting the past 3 months it worked out for me, but overshadowed the "challenge" aspect of the teams. Hmmmm. Are these truly "challenge" teams? Should we be called "Motivation" Teams instead? I wonder if that would scare fewer peas away? Thinking out loud. My bucket list of travel in the next 10 years reads as follows: New York Banff/Jasper (have driven through the mountains to Calgary many times grammadee but never been further afield or done any tourism!) Australia (probably Sydney, keep it simple) Grand Canyon London England

Hi Everyone, My father was in the Air Force, so I was born in Spain and I have lived all over the U.S.. Indiana and North Dakota as a young child; then when I was 7, my dad retired and we moved to Massachusetts. At 19, I moved to Texas for school and at 22, I moved to Northern California. Stayed there over 30 years and almost 6 years ago moved here to Pennsylvania. I absolutely love people and I have met and become friends with people from all walks of life and from almost every country in the world. I feel that it is a true blessing. I am looking forward to this next quarter; I have so much scrapbooking to get caught up on and I loved the challenges that I did and would love to do more of them. I am planning to set some challenges. kitbop In a challenge, am I allowed to upload a sketch to follow?

destined2bmom - YES, please feed us sketches OR...in the sketchy saturday thread, let AussieMeg know that you will take a Saturday? She's looking for help!!! You will never hear me say "no" to a sketch! So far, you have the "Nomad" award in your geographic hopping! Was it hard to leave N. California?

kitbop It was hard because we had so many wonderful friends and you can’t beat the weather. But we came to the realization that our children would never be able to afford a home anywhere close to us and they didn’t know my DH’s side of the family. It’s easier for us living here and we absolutely love the 4 seasons.

My bucket list of travel in the next 10 years reads as follows: New York Banff/Jasper (have driven through the mountains to Calgary many times grammadee but never been further afield or done any tourism!) Australia (probably Sydney, keep it simple) Grand Canyon London England I worked in Jasper one summer, and have spent a few days there and a few in Banff over the years on short trips. If you plan to spend much time there, bring lots of $$$! In Canada, I have spent time in Nova Scotia (3 weeks orientation at St FX), Quebec (for conferences and a couple of kids' sporting events), Ontario (visiting dd in Toronto area and near London), and BC (mostly visiting ds's family in Abbotsford). In the US I have taken work trips to Washington DC and Denver Colorado, and spent some holiday time along the west coast, California, and more of it in Orlando. I would like to do a cruise down the east coast in autumn to see all the foliage and maybe eat fresh Georgia peaches... My international travel bucket list is getting shorter as I have Checked or crossed things off the list, and as time and money and energy decrease. But I have been extremely lucky to do some traveling between when I retired from my full time career and Covid. For several years, I actually took contracts with local colleges to earn enough money for my next trip! Was a parent chaperone on my dd's school trip to Egypt. Went on a two week retired teachers' bus tour of China (Beijing and Shanghai areas). Have been on cruises to the Baltic (Denmark to St Petersburg), the western Caribbean, Auckland NZ to Sydney Australia, the Mediterranean from Athens to Barcelona, and Alaska. I have always thought I would like to visit Great Britain, but not sure if it will happen now.

Hi everyone. I live on the Alberta/Saskatchewan border in Canada. I have always lived in Saskatchewan (except for three years on the Alberta side of my current city). I grew up in a small town in eastern Saskatchewan (500 people). Went to the city for university and then taught in the northern part of the province and then moved south to a few miles from the US border. So I’ve moved around but stayed close to home.
This month I am going to count my points as I go. I swear I spent 12 hours in the last week filling in the spreadsheet for quarter 1.

I don't even know all the places I'd put on my bucket list for the next 10 years of travelling. I know I want to visit South America, and I've been considering Cambodia/Vietnam. I want to go back to Russia as I'd love to do the Trans Siberian, but that is well and truly on the back burner for the foreseeable future.

Hiya! While I was born and graduated high school in WA, I’ve lived in CA for all but 3 years of my life. I moved a lot growing up (not military, just an unstable parent). I go back and forth on the “event” challenges. The weekend events tend to be too hectic for me, but I enjoy the pacing of the monthly events. For quarter one I set up a Google Sheet from the Excel version provided. Then I alter it to make it work for my brain. I got in the habit of logging each layout before I was “allowed” to put it away. For cards I use the easy peasy system. I create whatever and add up the points afterwards. No pre-planning involved. I hope you’re feeling better this weekend kitbop

👋 I’ve lived in the US, specifically Ohio my entire life. I moved about 100 miles from where I grew up to go to college and I have stayed in that general area. I didn’t have much time for crafting last quarter- my mom has been ill and a lot of my free weekend time has been visiting her (she lives 2 hrs away) I’m hoping to squeeze in more craft time bc it helps my mental state when I keep creative!

Glad I was able to give you a laugh! To be honest, Ukraine has also been on my wish list for a long time, but when I visited Russia in 2011 I was advised against going to Ukraine as a single female traveller. For obvious reasons, that is also not anywhere near the top of my list.

Hey, schroema, sorry I missed that about your Mom. A 2 hour drive is hard when you are trying to help a sick family member out. Is she getting better or is this a more permanent change? My Dad has been in hospital over a month now. It's almost a relief because he's taken care of for me and I work there so I can keep an eye on him both through my coworkers (SO embarassing when he's a jerk!!) and in person (when I don't have covid that is).

I think next quarter we will end the challenge list additions earlier, yes? That is quite a list we have now... over 90! I will definitely be striving to get the 200 bonus points for completing over 50 of them. That gives me a push to actually look at the list and tick them off.
I'm chomping at the bit to get it printed out.
I'm working hard at using my supplies and not buying MORE. Mary Polanco (you tuber) did a stamp press review this week. I have the Tim Holtz Platform but have some complaints so I wanted to see her results. Very interesting and not what I expected. She did not rave about the MISTI (which is what she has been using) but she loved the WRMK precision press. Too easy to be enabled in this hobby.

Attention please boymom5, teacherlisa, destined2bmom, cycworker, @sunnycamom, Ryann, natscraps, christinec68, justjac, Chinagirl828, schroema, grammadeeDrawing attention to the next 2Peas MEGA CROP FRIDAY, MAY 13th TO SUNDAY MAY 15th This date was chosen because the "official" international scrapbook day is May 8 which is the day after Mothers' Day and often already very busy with crops/events on other sites. We wanted to chose a slightly quieter weekend so we Peas could celebrate together! Q2 team members who participate would earn DOUBLE points for any challenges they meet over the three days & time they spend on crafting and organizing activities, and DOUBLE-DOUBLE for those earned on the Saturday.I am unfortunately working that weekend so I won't be "hosting", but I will be participating as much as able in the evenings! Will you play along?

Drawing attention to the next 2Peas MEGA CROP FRIDAY, MAY 13th TO SUNDAY MAY 15th We have a small group working on planning the crop weekend. But was wondering what would make it especially fun for the Peas--other than having an IRL crop at a winery with a spa LOL. Any suggestions?

We leave early on Sunday morning so I might be able to participate a little on Friday & Saturday. As for right now, I just printed out the challenges. So many!! kitbop I am going to pay attention so I get the MEGA Bonus...I was so close last quarter.

While waiting for some info to come in on line for my tax forms, I decided to go with the flow and add up my points so far this month. (Might as well stay on that side of my brain--can't get into creative accounting, now can we...)
