So what used to be an innocuous, positive message for kids - you can be anything you want to be - is now dangerous “grooming.”

It seems to me the real grooming here is coming from the right, which prefers for kids to believe there is no class mobility, that it’s normal and acceptable for some types of people to drudge away in poverty for generations, and that education is an indoctrination trap rather than an opportunity. No, kids, you can’t be whatever you want to be because the oligarch class needs you to leave school early and toil in the fields and factories to feed their greed.
