As for that border punch, I want one too! Also wanting the border punch here...and I cannot seem to find out what one it is! I asked in the forum...between my mom and I-we have like 30 border punches and I looked thru them all over this week and I'll be darned if we do not have that one! I *think* it's an EK Success punch. The punch actually has little holes/embossing spots on the scallop, but they don't show unless you press realllllly hard. My Mom has this punch, and I want her to will it to me, lol.

I *think* it's an EK Success punch. Shimelle answered on the forum, it is the EK Success Double Scallop Embossed Border Punch. One on Amazon for 26.99. Funny enough, the reviews for it are horrible because it shows it punches through, but then people complained that it doesn't. It's super cute, but I don't know that it is 27 dollars cute. I have lots of border punches, I think I can make do.

Does each color have a sketch or is this class just color theory? Each class has a sketch (informal kind of) and then a video to go along with it. You can scrap along, pausing when you need to! Personally I think it is a lot of value for 20 dollars.

Does each color have a sketch or is this class just color theory? There’s a sketch. The first actual color classes began this week, with red. I’m fuzzy on the details, but I think there’s to be 3 lessons with videos each week. She’s posted 2 for red so far, with the third one due today.

DS#2 and his girlfriend just sent me the perfect photos to use with this lesson. Right after work, heading upstairs.
Gotta love it.

I also ended up going with a vertical design for my page as it turns out I have very few photos I would typically pair with red.

Was there supposed to be a third video Friday? Not that there is any rush. I am not going to be scrapping today and I haven't done anything with her earlier videos. But I do like to watch them and then let it steep for awhile.
I was sorting through my photos yesterday in prep for an upcoming IRL crop, and the only ones with red in them are of my dgd in hockey uniform. So the vibe on those pages will be a bit different from Shimelle's whimsical style.

I have a 5x7 photo that needs to be scrapped with black and red...and because of the red, I've put it off for 4 years! So I'll be having to change Shimelle's design to accomodate my 5x7 photo but plan to attack it today in the online crop.
I did just finish a 2 page spread and used the early lessons of choosing colours from the photos. It made it far easier to get started as I stopped searching once I had the right colours. And I feel like I limited myself more - it's really only a 2 colour page, whereas you guys know me, I use 5 colours on every page I do!!!

Sorry, it’s a short video on ink blending. I thought the video was up.
Also, Shimelle is not feeling well but hoping to have the video up tomorrow.

Thank you to the peas who have shared your work-it is very inspiring!
I started my layout today. I think I looked through just about every piece of paper trying to find a true red patterned paper for my base (which has me questioning keeping collections in bags...so many ziplocks to unzip!)
I finally found something that would work, and made some decent progress.
Seeing all of your pages has given me ideas on additional papers to layer in, instead of trying to stick to just a red layer (because finding one piece of red paper was hard enough, I just went with red cardstock for the second red layer!!)
I don't know if I would have pushed myself to play along with this color that I tend not to use in larger doses (maybe because I don't have much red paper, apart from Christmas 😆), so thanks for the sharing and motivation!

Gorgeous pages, Peas! I think I have left love for your Shimelle pages on Flickr, kmage , kitbop , and Chinagirl828 . honeypea your red page is stunning, and I look forward to seeing more of your pages.
How did your page turn out, mamagidget? I hear what you are saying about the decision between the "stress" of feeling forced into colours/patterns that are uncomfortable and the excitement of being inspired to try something new.
I have printed off Shimelles RED pages and am taking them with me to a crop this upcoming weekend. I have some hockey pages to do for my dgd and her team's uniform is red/black/white, so those photos should feel right at home on pages inspired by these classes. What do you think of the ORANGE video? I am always amazed by how she gets those elements to flow so smoothly and tuck in so perfectly. I have a couple of fall LO's I want to finish up this weekend, so may be able to work with some of her colour combos. Vicki Boutin's oranges and teals work so perfectly together that I have used that combo with her papers several times and love the results. Not sure if I can make lime green work with orange, even with a black/white buffer. NOTE TO SELF: tuck some VB papers into the tote going to the crop!

grammadee, work decided to kick into high gear this week, boooo!!! So instead of scrapping at 6am like last week, I was working! I haven't gotten to the orange video yet, but am a little concerned. Even with buffers, those colors (even with gray) scream Halloween to me.

She did say the colour combo is orange, black (or grey), white, and an accent colour so you don’t need to use lime green, it just happened to work with her photos and makes sense with her layout title. I’m working with purple as my accent colour (which makes sense for the subject of my photos). I’m looking forward to seeing what other accent colours everyone chooses.

@chinagirl - I think you stayed very true to your style because the colours are a little muted and I love your row of photos! One thing that feels "different" to me is the white border on your die cuts and how it contrasts with the background. I do that a lot, but you tend to have your embellies/die cuts without edges or blending into a white background. I heard her say your name when I watched the replay. It's so funny because I immediately think, "hey, I know her!"

I think this needed the contrast, it would be just way to much tone on tone orange otherwise. I have the same thought about recognising peas she mentions during her lives.

Chinagirl828 , I really love this! You totally embraced the orange and it doesn't feel harsh or Halloween-ey. I can't wait till this weekend when I can get a chance to look at the video. Quick question-did you all do the inky red one? kitbop, grammadee , mamagidget , honeypea , wallyagain ? How did that go for you?

I haven't done ANY of them. But I have an in-person crop this weekend. I have printed off Shimelle's pages, packed some supplies that I could use with them, and hope to work on at least some of mine there. I really like the look of her page. Not sure if I can figure out a way to use it on a two page spread. But I have a couple of single pages I need to do this weekend, so that may come into play there.
BTW have you checked out the shared Pinterest Rainbow board? SO much inspiration there! And I have been pinning rainbow pages like crazy on MY boards. Think I am good for inspiration this weekend. Hope I can add some focus, so I can actually get something done.
If I don't ever complete a page for a specific class, I think I will be much more aware of how I am using colour--and spreading it around--on my LO's. Especially this weekend when she is still fresh in my head. Right now I am finishing up the packing, and thinking I need to add my nested circle and square dies cuz ya need THREE similar shapes on a page, in three different SIZES, ya know.

Here is a photo I took of a zoom video of my dgs reading aloud for me. that would definitely work for that inky page. I even have a script page from the ancient WRMK "Storytime" line to use it on.

kmage - I haven’t done the inky red. I’m not sure I will. I only have two reds, and one is a bit bright to be useful for me, ever (SC poppy). I’m not a huge inky person, I think I’m ink-curious. 😂 But the combo of it being red, I don’t have many red pics, and I lack red inks, means I’ll probably pass on that one.

If you post it on a different platform, you can right click on the pic, then choose “copy image link”, paste it into a message, then click the insert picture button at the top of the message pane. If you post on Flickr, you just need to open your photo, hit the share arrow at the bottom, and then copy & paste the address that pops up directly into a message. No need to use the Image button.

kmage - I'm presently working on my red/blue/pink page, and then I think I'll skip the inky page and move onto orange so that I'm sorta "keeping up". At the end, I will return to the beginning of the rainbow and try an inky page with each!

did you all do the inky red one? I haven't yet. I do have red inks, but I don't really have a lot of photos that pair well with a strong red background. I'd like to give it a go even though the red inky background is well outside my comfort zone.
