I guess I have been in FSS for a while now with buying paper, moreso just defaulting to that when the scrapbook shops near me closed. Prior to that, when I shopped in person, I don't think the stores even HAD collection packs, the paper was just all by the sheet.
When a new collection comes out, I buy the collection kit (paper and stickers). Do you know how long it takes to use up a collection kit? No really, I'm asking, because I've only done it ONCE.
Lately, I have started to get more selective about papers, and just choosing a few papers from a collection and the sticker sheet.
The problem I have is that when I get new collection kits, often the papers I like best end up being ones I wasn't excited about when I purchased the collection kit. Maybe I should shop for scrapbook supplies on something with a larger screen than my phone, lol. 😄

I do not have FSS. In fact, I am rather strict (now) to only buy what I love. Compared to most, I have a small stash and work best that way.

Thanks for your response. Perhaps because I'm left-brained, generally lack creativity, & painstakingly overanalyze every purchase, I don't have FSS (or FOMO or impulse shop). Boring, huh? ...If it had...gosh, I would have loved all the Bazzil colours... I certainly miss the original Bazzill before it was acquired by American Crafts 8 years ago. It (the original) is the only product I would considering having multiples in every color & finish! Have you seen my Nuvo Drops collection? I’ve all but one! It is a Stone Drop that was exclusive to one of their craft kits. Im constantly on the search. Sigh… one day, I’ll find it. In the world of massive online gaming, players generally fall into four categories. ... It was awhile ago that I realized these four “gamer types” seemed to be present in the scrappy world: Spades want to figure out the best ways to accomplish pages. They enjoy the principles of design and to break the rules in ways that improve their art. Hearts are there for the social aspect, whether it’s hanging out with friends or documenting for their family. Diamonds enjoy trying new techniques, collect supplies, and “suffer” from full set syndrome. Clubs want the notoriety and to be “the best” in the business. You are the Nuvo Queen! Hope you find the missing color. Do you recall the name of the kit in which it was an exclusive? Perhaps someone here has the kit &/or drop & doesn't like its color or stone finish. See this thread based on your gamer types adapted for scrappers. ...The only thing in scrapbooking I have been tempted to have all of is Memento inks, and then they stopped making them, or at least selling them where I could find them. There are 36 colors, I own 18... Enabler alert: Imagine Crafts appears to offer all 36 colors of Memento in full size pads, dew drops, inkers, &/or dual tip markers. I've never purchased from the site, but have seen it previously recommended in threads here.

CP mini inks though - if I ever fall for FSS that will be the thing that gets me. At this point I'm almost willing to give up my oxides to make space for the rest of the mini inks. But then I realize I will probably need a reinker for every color I buy too and decide just to be a patterned paper cardmaker instead. Any particular reason you prefer the mini CP inks? Just curious because I’m kind of wishing I’d bought minis rather than full size. I have one set of minis and reach for them all the time.

My budget has never extended to buying full sets so I've managed to avoid full set syndrome. If it had...gosh, I would have loved all the Bazzil colours or all the Prima flowers in the pretty bottles, or more recently, all the Nuvo drops... You spoke my words exactly! Back when I began scrapping (early 2000's), I would DROOL when posters would show pics of their dozens of Prima milk bottles all lined up. I used to think, "Someday..." But honestly now, I wouldn't want that much investment in product, just to see it on a shelf. That wouldn't bring me joy anymore (not to mention, I no longer have a dedicated scrapping area).

I do! I guess by the description above, I'm a diamond. I like to collect, but rarely craft. I have the complete set of 8 different ink lines and the full set of copics. I get carried away with paper and other supplies too, but not like ink. My excuse is that the nearest craft store is 100 miles away and if I'm in a creative mood, I don't want it to end because I don't have the right color. A full set of Copics?! I did not hop about the Coptic train when I started card making because I knew I’d want them all. My husband opened Pandora’s box and gave me a 36 set for my birthday. A few times a year I’ll buy some. They are amazing!

I used to get full paper collections but now I'm a little wiser and pick and choose. If it is Vicki Boutin or Simple Stories Vintage I tend to buy almost all of it, though. With Vicki I often buy two of each page-
I never get full sets of mixed media stuff because they dry out before I use them. I learned that the hard way.

I can't remember the website off hand, but they had them for about $2 off the regular price. (I know I posted about them once I need to go back and look.) I've taken Sandy Allnock's classes, plus another one through Online classes (Jennifer's) but I really need to practice. I'm still basic, but I do love them. Pandora's Box is right! I love that!

No I do not buy everything with very few exceptions. I tarely like everything anyway. I also don't often use elements from the same line together.
My friend has full set syndrome and she laughs at me because I will see something she has and ask where she got it, and she will remind me we were together but I only bought one or 2 sheets of a line. I also rarely buy 2 of the same paper.

I don't use colored inks very much (for a long time I just used versafine black for everything) and I don't have a good place to store big ones. I also liked the idea of buying the bundles so someone else has coordinated colors for me and I store them in their bundle boxes for the most part, even though I love the idea of having a rainbow of them in my drawer. I don't know that they're better value - the pads are very small - but it seemed like less money to outlay too.

lilacgal, I found my old post. The website is merriartist.com They still have them for $5.85 which I see is what you get them for on Carpe Diem. Anything somewhat local to me was charging almost $8 and didn't have all the colors. Thanks for sharing your online store, looks like they have lots of fun stuff at amazing prices.

I have full set syndrome on things abd it can lead to regrets. I gave all the copics. I also have all the triblends and now I’d like to sell them. I also have a pretty comprehensive set of Oahuhu. No idea why I need all those markers
I also have all the pinkfresh inks, a lot of the Gina k mini cubes, the taylored expressions mini cubes, the altenew mini cubes, and a bunch of the stamp market cubes. I also have most of the oxides and most of the distress ink mini cubes. I have all the taylored expressions cardstock and envelopes and a bunch of lawn Fawn. I have most of the lawn Fawn stamps and dies. I also have a really large collection of the recent pinkfresh offerings, and a lot of the greetery. I’m definitely a collector but I do try to resell what I’m not using. I have more supplies then I will ever use.
I also collect adhesives. Like crazy amounts. But I hate running out.

I am a FSS-er in recovery I’d say lol. I only buy FS now in very rare instances. I have a lot of purging to do of things I’ve bought that I’ll never use due to either FSS or FOMO or both. I’m trying to be better, and I’ve cancelled all subs except for one.

My weakness is ink and card stock. Once I start picking up a few colours I want them all. I just broke myself of the SU ink habit- I stopped buying from them last fall and am trying not to look at the new in-colors. I'm thinking of selling my old colors now, which I would never have considered even 6 months ago - I still have retired colors from the early 2000s. I'll never use them and I still really prefer their newer colors. I do have all of the Oxides, Stamp Market ink (including the new ones which I'm getting for my birthday), and have started buying PinkFresh and Catherine Pooler's but I'm resisting getting all of them - I just don't have the room. I just love how each line co-ordinates beautifully in their own colour palette. I love the Concord & 9th inks that we got from Crop and Create and really want more of those, along with their card stock, but I'm saying no to myself. It's difficult!!
I have probably 70% of the Copic colors available. I really want the rest but am forcing myself to not buy them because really, I have enough colors to accomplish what I want. They're one of my most-used supplies. Scrapbook Pal has them for $5.85 each, and good shipping prices.
Luckily I have a very generous mother-in-law and husband who both primarily buy me craft supplies for Christmas, Mother's Day, and my Birthday, so I get most of my stuff that way. My Mother-in-law also gives me $400 every birthday to buy whatever I want with - a great way to stock up on stuff guilt-free. This year I spent it on redoing my craft room and I'll probably spend the rest on Crop and Create for the Fall.

I have FSS with Distress inks (mini) and the Distress Oxides. I also have the full set of the original Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I've also started collecting the Pinkfresh mini ink cubes - don't have the full set yet but I'm working on it!
I don't typically get FSS with paper lines/collections as there are always pieces or elements I know I won't use so I try to buy what I'll actually use.

my MIL has Full Set Syndrome. especially with china and bedding. i never understood her need to own every element of a collection. as it pertains to scrapbooking, i don't have to own a full set. just the paper and maybe some embellishments (very rarely though).

Depends on the set. My goal is not to possess the whole set for the sake of owning it all, but to have the option to USE that product when the opportunity and mood align. My excuse is that I live way out in the country, and if I want to use a particular product at home I either have to have it on hand, set out on a 3 hour return trip to pick it up at the LSS, or order it on line when shipping usually takes two+ weeks.
There are some collections I want everything: the pp, the coordinated cs, the diecuts, the stickers, the cb pieces...
I am more likely to try to acquire inks in coordinating colours for blending rather than feeling the need to have the ink pad, the re inker, the paste or glaze, the water colour, the marker, the crayon all in that same colour. I figure with water reactive inks I can pretty much create any look I want by adding more water and using a blending brush or some other technique.
If I try a product and like it, I will pick it up in colours I think I might use in the future. Not a good plan for wet media if your "future" use of it is too far away from the present, as I learned with all the pretty Dylusions paints...

I am with Oxide inks, but that is about it. Now if I have great storage for something, I'll tend to want to fill it up. I'm working on that issue!

I think I only have one full set currently: my Versafine Clairs. I did have a full set of Spectrum Noir Classic markers, but they have added new colours that I do not own.
The tendency is there, but generally my budget and storage hold me back.

I think I used to have FSS that was really tied into FOMO. Space and being more “intentional” about purchases has really helped me cut down on purchases.
I was a huge fan of Papertrey inks and papers, but once I learned about their shady business practices I was really not interested in buying from them anymore. I do have all their inks and papers, but I used them almost exclusively. Now there are better ink formulas on the market (Catherine Pooler) is my favorite). So I’m struggling with giving up precious storage space to supplies I really want to get rid of.
The point of my sad story is, this is exactly the type of situation that has cured me, lol.

I have FSS with inks and cardstock. I'm in a very awkward phase of it right now...
When I sold CTMH, I loved - LOVED! - having so many of the inks and CS. I knew the colors really well, and I knew what "season" they fell in (CTMH used to organize their palette into four "seasons" plus basics, I think?). I have always used PP from various manufacturers, but I could look at a green and say, "Oh, I need Citrus Leaf CS for this!"
Now (15 years later), many of my ink pads need refreshing, and many of the colors are now retired. What I liked about using one manufacturer for my basics was that I didn't have to worry about duplicating an ink color or (the opposite) having a "hole" in my palette. I'm just not sure I want to continue purchasing CTMH; I'm pickier about what I want from my inks and CS, and I'd like to have more purchasing options than just a home rep.
I have nearly a full set of distress minis, and some of them are getting dry. Not too happy about that. I can't afford the $ or the real estate to get reinkers for all of them!

Yes! I actually used to have what I called "twosies". I would buy 2 of everything - paper, stickers, anything usable so in case I used it I had one in my stash "just in case". I do have full set syndrome when it comes to things like Copics. and watercolors and distress inks. and oxides. haha! This! This is what I am recovering from! I would buy two sheets of paper in every collection I purchased. If I was scrapbooking at my LSS and I used a sheet of paper from my stash that they were still selling, I would go and buy one to replace it. No wonder my paper stash is out of control! Now I try very hard to only buy my most favourite pieces from a collection and supplement from my stash. I had a bad case of FSS with mixed media supplies. After tossing out a bunch of dried stuff, I keep to mostly what I need for a particular project and try to keep things basic. I do have almost all of the Distress Inks, but I use them regularly. I am only buying the Oxides as I need them for projects.
