Why is everyone so quick to think she was some sort of victim rather than an accomplice, or that he killed her? She's hardly the first woman to throw her life away for a man, and she probably didn't want to go to prison knowing how that would probably turn out for a former corrections officer. None of this surprises me in the least, other than the fact they thought a 6'9" 300+ lb man could hide anywhere unnoticed. 100% this We have no reason to think she wasn’t in control of her faculties through any of this. Why the willingness to make her a feeble-minded woman who couldn’t say no to an incarcerated man? She made terrible decision after terrible decision. She absolutely knew better but she kept going, every step of the way. The man was in prison - he certainly wasn’t forcing her to do all the things she did leading up to their escape. She made her own choices, including to end her own life. She knew her life was over when she was caught and couldn’t bear to be accountable for her actions.

I sure as hell don't, she is just as guilty as he is regarding the escape. I just think it is equally plausible that she died by suicide or that he killed her. Of course she would not want to go to prison. I can't even imagine the horrors she would have to endure as a former corrections officer in a prison. I also know he is a murderer and it wouldn't be at all surprising if he had murdered her. Of course, if he had murdered her technically she would be another one of his victims, wouldn't she? But I don't consider her a victim, she was in full control of her actions.

I think she had more reason to kill herself at that point than he had to kill her. Unless it was supposed to be a murder suicide. I just heard that he said he was going to get into a shootout with the police but they rammed his car. Maybe she didn’t want to be responsible for someone else’s death as well as her own?
