415 wad the number that graduated, we probably had close to 500 seniors. We didn’t have summer school or credit recovery like they do now so quite a few stayed back and some moved to the alternative school and they had their own little graduation. There was also night school but that was at the community college.
At the time we had approx 3500 students but now it’s down to about 2500. Students came from the town the HS is in plus 8 surrounding rural towns.

Rural small town school, less than 100 in our graduating class. I think the total was 76 or something close to it. Our school was a 7-12 and many kids from neighboring areas came to our area for school.

big urban 3 yr high school.. 650. my kid went to a private school..12 in graduating class, my other kid went to arts public high school --about 150. (that was the best graduation ceremony ever!!!)
I actually recognized most kids in my high school class. I hung out with the drama/english/philosophy kids mostly. worked on the literary magazine.

Went to a private school. K-8, the class sizes are around 80-85. 9-12, the class size increased to 90-95. I graduated with 92.

OMG, some of those numbers are mind boggling!! I mean, I knew from TV shows and movies (ha!) that American schools were big, but over 1000 students in one year level?! Woah!
I just pulled out my school photo album, and there were only 40 students in my year level in Year 12. FORTY!
High school starts here in Year 7. When I started high school, we had four classes of about 23 students, so less than 200 for each year level. So we went from <200 in Year 7 to 40 in Year 12.

I had about 550.
It’s been quite eye opening living since moving here and my kids’ classes have under 50 each. First football game I was shocked when some of the football players left the field and picked up their instruments at halftime. There was no trying out for teams….if you wanted a spot you got it. The dating pool is really small! Very limited electives in high school, you need a foreign language, hope you like Spanish because that’s what you get (or got, thus far they haven’t replaced the only Spanish teacher who left this fall). There’s some good stuff too, but talk about culture shock.

It was supposed to be 50, but one girl didn’t pass her class to receive credit so she didn’t get to graduate with us. She did the next year. So it was 49.

My class was just over 500. My mother still thinks I should know everyone from my high school. I graduated in 1976! Then she argues with me about whether they were in my class or one of my sibling's classes, LOL.

I went to a Catholic high school. It served the entire county and we had 169 in my graduating class in 1993. I think that was an alright size because I knew everyone, maybe not deeply, but I could recognize everyone and feel comfortable saying hello.

About 110. That was a larger class than most of the schools around. My kids have about 320 in their classes and that seems large. I couldn’t imagine much over that.

My graduating class- in 1987- was 42. Only one high school in town; the whole high school was about 250 students. (we had a couple kids who weren't sure they would graduate till the day of graduation practice; I still remember that, all these years later!)
The entire town population was, and still is, about 1500.

My graduating class had 660 students, with a 92% graduation rate. I remember this number was super important to me, because I wanted to be in the top 1% (GPA) but I didn’t make it - I had to settle for top 2% and was super bummed about it.

My first high school my graduating class was about 750.. it was a pretty big school. My second school where I actually graduated is about 400. Still decent size.
My sister's ex always killed me.. he had four or five. And this was in the early 1990s. The class after before that only had two I think.
Edited to add: Apparently The Rock and I went to the same high school around the same time. Ummmm, we didn't run in the same crowd!! He was a troublemaker! haha.. but damn.. The Rock!!

How do you all remember the exact number? I had to take an educated guess. I can't even remember my own kid's birthdays half the time much less how many graduated in my class from 1986. LOL

How do you all remember the exact number? I had to take an educated guess. Forty-two isn't a hard number to remember, lol!! I remember all sorts of random numbers- like my HS boyfriend's home phone number... but can I remember my current driver's license number or my new license plate number? nope!

I don't remember the exact number but over 500. We live in the area where I graduated from high school and DH will ask me sometimes if I know someone because they're about the same age as me. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I didn't know all 500+ kids. He doesn't get it sometimes because he had 79 in his graduating class and most of them he went to school with kindergarten through graduation.

My class was 123. Both of my boys graduated from the same high school and their classes were right around 200. The building has been added on to so much it is not recognizable. And I remember because I had to find out my class ranking when I was applying to college. Back in those days, the requirement was either upper 50% of the class or take the PSAT. ![:2thumbsup:](//storage2.proboards.com/5645536/images/zKsqKGInldFvtmx415J3.jpg) I was #13.

Ours was around 190. My kids went to the same school, and both their classes were up to 350ish graduates 24 and 26 years later. It's said that the younger grades in the same district are approaching 500-600 already. This district is growing at warp speed.
