My class had about 600 or 700 kids. It felt very big to me because I had transferred from a very small private school where we had only 1 or 2 teachers per grade.

Somewhere in the mid 400's. The school had about 1800 students at the time IIRC.

I graduated from a fairly large school on the FL gulfcoast in 1987. We had 362 in my graduating class.
SO graduated from a small-ish town in Iowa and had a "big" class the year he graduated, 1989, with 290ish.
My kids have all gone to a small district in Iowa, DS, 2013, 52... DD, 2016, 61... DS, 2025, right now there are 41 in his class... and DD, 2024, 56 as of now.
