Just curious how big everyone's graduating class was?
I went to a big school, over 3,000 students. And, when I went, it was only a 3 year high school (10th-12th). So, my graduating class had over 1,000 students.

187. That was average for the time. 25 years later and the average size is 340. My kids' classes were 343 and 366 respectively.
DH says his class was less than 150. His town was a lot smaller.

172. It was/is a union high school for 7 towns. Individual towns had their own grade school and then for junior high and high school we were combined into one junior high and high school.

So, my graduating class had over 1,000 students. My town only had 1000 people plus a rural area. 350 kids in grades 7-12, almost 50 in grade 12. My kids went to the same school except now the elementary is mixed into the same school, pre-k to 12 and only 250 kids, usually about 30 grads now.

IIRC, my graduating class was about 550.
My high school was 1200+ with about 100 10th graders and the rest 11 & 12th grades.

So, my graduating class had over 1,000 students. My entire school (k-12) had less than 500 students. Class size for k-8 was about 17 students. 9-12 bumped up a small bit because we took in students starting in the 9 grade that had previously attended a county school that only offered grades 1-8.

My graduating class was 626. We were the smallest graduating class in over 30 years and remained the smallest for another 15 years. Average class size back then was around 800. My BIL’s class was over 1000. At the time we were one of the largest high schools in the state of Ohio. This years graduating class is only 412.

Ours was big but I also went to a math science magnet school that was like a school within a school. We were a close knit group of pseudo-nerds.

Suburban school... there were about 260, IIRC
We had just under 1000 total students in the 10-12 high school.

It looks like I'll be the only one answering with I don't know. The only reason I can is I have been cleaning out and just came across my high school quatrains/years books. I went and counted my classmates in my senior year one. Otherwise it would have been wild and big span of a guess. 😆

I grew up in a city of about 200,000 and went to a high school with about 2500 students; the dropout rate was decently high, so our actual graduation class was in the 500s.

Mine was about 500 in ÇA. If we sent my son to our local high school, his class would have been approx 1850! Of course we live in Texas.

My graduating class was in the 600-700 range. Total population at the school was about 2500 kids or so, it had just switched from grades 10-12 to grades 9-12 the year I was in 9th grade.
My DH also went to a pretty big school but his was slightly smaller than mine and in a suburban city. His school ended up merging with another school after that so now it’s a huge school.

About 350 in my senior class. However, it was the only high school in the entire county. The largest town was only about 4,500 population with the entire county being less than 30,000. I got out of there as quick as I could!

I lived in a rural area, many towns/villages had their own elementary school, then there were 2 middle that then fed into 1 high school of about 800, around 225 in my grad class in ‘85. I just checked 2021 and there were 162 grads.

This sounds like where I moved from at the start of my Junior year. My class had a whopping 13 actually graduate, but my Sophomore year there were 9 of us.
