Bet you didn't have Rudy! I could have slept in big time when I was with the girls, but somehow I was always awake about the same time as any day. Haha! I did not have Rudy! lol. I slept past 9 and I hardly sleep that late. It throws off the whole rhythm of the day. I'm whiny too when the temps get much about 80 lol. nylene I hope cousin camp is going well! That is awful about all the food. It sounds like you have a lot going on right now, take care of yourself! My A/C was back on Monday and boy just in time, we had temps in the high 90's with lots of humidity nearly all week. I spent Saturday with DS2 and he looks so good and he's doing so well. I'm so proud of him and am amazed at the difference in behaviour. Rudy found out he is having a brother. He is so excited, and sent his dad a text with about 50 each of baby boy, blue hearts, and hearts on fire emojis LOL. I hope you all are having a great week!

hi all - I'll try and come back later and reply but for now - could I get good thoughts for my kitty, Little Friend? She was unresponsive this morning - we took her straight to the vet expecting to be saying goodbye (and we still might have to) but they have her in a heating kennel and on fluids for now. They're kerbside still and sent us home to await updates via phone. She's 12.5 - hyperthyroid, chronically constipated, and seriously underweight (due to the other two conditions) - but a scrappy little thing.

Good Friday evening, Pokeys! What does your weekend look like? Dd & family plan to drive here late tonight in two vehicles. Mom & dgs have to leave on Sunday and dsil will leave Monday morning to a function at a base near here. They plan to help with the garden and garage on Saturday, and then Sunday we will do something for Fathers' Day. Not sure what, yet. If the weather is nice, we may go to a local lake, but a diner serving huge burgers and a wiener roast on our yard are still options. How are you doing with all the family visiting, nylene. I hope you have a marvelous time and don't get too exhausted. Will they still be there on Sunday? Has everyone signed up for a 3rd Quarter team? The sign up thread has been posted. Don't remember seeing you there yet, kellyr21, justjac, nylene, msliz. Not a good advertisement for teams, but I have been busy adding up my points for Q2. Left it way too late, so now it is a bigger job. Is it still cool enough to camp in NM, MARIBETHR? Dd & family will be heading out to a local lake next weekend I think and will be there a week, through Canada Day. Glad your A/C issues are solved, joyfulnana. The only electronic woes I have had this week is that my printer jammed. It took awhile for me to figure out how to unjam it, but that is because it has been the most jam-free printer I have had in my life, I think, and this was only the second time I needed to do this. Turns out it is really easy, too. Can be done from the top. My last one--that jammed all the time--had to be cleared from the back, so I had my whole desk cleaned off ready to turn this baby around when I realized that none of that was necessary. Oh well... clean desk LOL! So nice that Rudy is so excited about his soon-to-be-born sibling! He will make a wonderful big brother! Okay. Gotta go. Have a wonderful weekend!

grammadee- sounds like a nice family weekend for you. And yay for a clean desk joyfulnana - how sweet that Rudy is so excited! nylene - how is cousin camp going? Such a fun tradition! My scrapbook area is completely disassembled because I'm finally getting rid of my folding plastic table and replacing it with an actual table (okay 2 Alex drawers and a desktop). DH got my new Kallax assembled tonight so I've starting setting that up. Hoping he'll get the rest assembled this weekend also.

My weekend is starting with a few hours at the hospital helping with moving my unit/patients to a new location due to renovations. They needed "volunteers" (we do get paid) and it's hopefully only 4 hours and I don't have to be the physio and be responsible for anything - I'm just Joe-mover and patient porter. I'm really relaxed! The heat broke here yesterday. We were up to 107 last week so we're glad to be back to 70! Kayaking later. Linda- oh no, I'm so sorry about LF. HUGS! With a couple of chronically ill kitties myself, I feel very responsible for them and almost more bonded because they have their issues but remain plucky. Really really sorry I LOVE the ikea Alex units and would totally replace my table with your set up! joyfulnana - I'm not sure if this is accurate, but it feels like Rudy having a brother could be an easier adjustment than if it were a sister? Rudy will have a frame of reference, even if they aren't "friends" early because of the age gap, he probably will "understand" the kid better Glad he's excited! grammadee - hope you have a wonderful time with the family and they get all your garden sorted!

Hello all - heat broke this morning with thunderstorms but is back to 91 feels like 101 now - yuck - and next week is looking really hot as well with actual temp around 100 and feels like even higher. I'll be hanging out INside. Thank you kitbop - I'm grateful that we had the time we did with Little Friend and that we really did all we could for her. I would have liked to have been with her at the end but she hadn't regained consciousness so I don't think it mattered to her. Enjoy kayaking! kellyr21 - thank you - hope all is well for you new Kallax is set up - I've done some sorting of stuff in preparation for DH assembling the Alex drawers and I'm hopeful he might get to one of them this evening (and the other tomorrow). I'm ready to have the room back together and get crafty again. In the meantime, I've downloaded photos from DVDs of my mum's trip to Berlin in 2005 and am (slowly) deciphering her notes in order to label the photos. She didn't have the best handwriting and this one is especially tricky as she mixed English and Germa. I'm on 134/300ish

Hey Pokeys. Sad news. My mother-in-law passed away yesterday. It wasn’t unexpected. She’d been declining steadily especially this past week. We’re sad, but doing okay. The guys have basically been grieving for months already.

OH justjac, I'm so sorry. Sending hugs to you. Linda, I'm sorry about LF and sending hug to you too. I would love to have that set up! Have fun getting everything organized in new homes. kitbop I hope you only had 4 hours and got to enjoy the rest the day! grammadee YAY for a clean desk lol. Your weekend sounds very fun - especially the burgers in the yard part!- and also like a very full weekend. Now is the family that has the camper? Would you be camping if you went to the local lake? Ugh still in the middle of a heat wave here. With no end in sight through at least next weekend. I spent most of the day visiting with mom. She is leaving Monday to stay with my niece for a few months and will be a couple hours further away. No practice tomorrow for DS1, so I won't have Rudy all afternoon, which means bonus hours for me lol.

Happy Monday! Hope you all are having a good day. I have enjoyed walking in my new sneakers. Plus, I bought a couple of tops and a tshirt dress from QVC. I love watching that channel and seeing all the fashions and other products. justjac - Hugs to ya! I sending prayers your way, too. joyfulnana - Hang in there with the heat. I don't know how you all deal with the heat and humidity. Did you grow up in your area? The closest I ever traveled to you was Illinois, Michican, Indiana and Ohio. I couldn't believe how hot it was and the humidity was crazy. It gets hot out here but it is just hot. Sending you all the ocean breezes.

Hello, Pokeys! So much as happened since I last got a chance to check in. First, justjac, I am so sorry about the loss of your DMIL. I know that her loss must be so difficult on your DH and the rest of his family also. Such a long illness. My heart hurts for you. Linda, I am so sorry about Little Friend. She was such an important part of your family. I am glad you have lots of photos and memories of the love you all shared with her. Hugs! She was well cared for even in her last days. joyfulnana, I am so glad your AC is fixed. I'm sorry about your heat wave, but it must be such a relief to have AC again. I'm glad that Rudy is excited about a new baby brother. When is he due? grammadee, I see that you have had family around too. I love summer when family can travel to be together. Thanks for setting things up for the next quarter of teams. I will go over and sign up. I may not accomplish much, but I will try. kellyr21, congrats on comfy shoes for walking! I hope your weather stays nice enough that you can take walks without roasting. kitbop, I so want to scraplift your page for POTW. I am afraid that I won't get to it this month but I will in the coming months. Cousin Camp was lots of fun. We had a Minecraft theme and since I know nothing about Minecraft each of the kids were in charge of one game related somehow. Alex got sick 2 days before and was determined to be well by that Tuesday. He had a 24 hour stomach bug and was really doing well by that next morning. He even offered to wear a mask the whole time if he could come. It worked out fine. He was as wild and active as usual. We had 2 college girls in town, so they came and participated too. The Calif. kids were so glad to spend time with their cousins. We were able to spend much more time with the Calif. family than usual. We share them with DSIL's family who also live in town, but this trip we were together nearly every day. We had a big family picnic in the park yesterday with all our kids and most of our grands and Eddie. It was a great way to end the week. They left this morning. I am behind on all the posted projects but hope to catch up this week and maybe do a little scrapping too. Waving to each of you. I have really missed checking in to see what is going on in your lives. Thanks for being such great friends.

refugeepea , I must have been posting as you did. I recognize that paper! You did a great job with the pocket pages. I love that little elephant! I have used a lot of mine, but there is still a lot left. LOL I keep waiting for them to open another warehouse store but I haven't heard anything. Not sure what I would do with more paper in my messy room, but I just can't seem to resist it. Hope your summer is going well.

nylene - thank you Sounds like another fabulous cousin camp - I know you enjoyed it but I bet you're exhausted also. refugeepea - those pocket pages look good - like nylene - I love the little elephant! My scraproom is reassembled with its new furniture and I was able to scrap last night. The first page was like pulling teeth and I'm not thrilled with the result but the next two worked better. Here's the room looking in from the foyer (no door - just a doorway) my new Kallax and my new desk don't mind my little photo bomber - Pad-Bear is quite the helper

Happy Wednesday! Waving hi to you all! We had some big thunderstorms this early morning! I haven't heard thunder like this in ages. It was not fun waking up to this. But all is well. The park concerts start tonight. Hope it stays dry so we can all attend. Not sure who is performing tonight but it is usually good. Nylene- Yeah! So glad your camp turned out fantastic!!! Good to see Angie and family got to spend lots of time with you all. linda- Your craftroom looks terrific! I wish we could all come and play with you! What a cute looking bird! I stumbled upon an eagle live stream on YouTube. The camera is in the nest of an eagle family. I got to see the baby fly for the first time in May. Also, it is fun to see the parents fly in and out of the nest and the baby flying back and forth now, too. She is a little diva about food. justjac- Sending more hugs to you and your family!

Happy Wednesday, Pokeys! So glad you got to have Cousin Camp in person this year, nylene, that Alex got to play, and that the older cousins dropped in to play along. memories of Cousin Camp will always be in their happy memories of growing up. Can't wait to see pic's and pages! Glad you dropped in, refugeepea and shared your pocket pages. Looks like your albums would be fun to read with all the little details like weather, the relevant cartoon, and your commentary. They are pretty, too. Love that little elephant. And again, I am jealous that you two got to meet AND shop at that giant sale! I DON'T envy you the transition of your mom's living situation, joyfulnana. But it is good that her granddaughter can have her stay with her family while it is happening. Is this the niece that scrapbooks? Bet you will enjoy playing in your redone craftroom, Linda. Those units and the desk look really convenient. Your bushy tailed friend probably feels like he won the lottery. Our dogs have been entertained all spring by a squirrel in the trees around the edge of the yard. Sometimes I think that little guy chirps just to tease them! They both go running out there and bark excitedly, but as far as I know the cheeky guy wins all the games. Must be fun to watch the eagles, kellyr21. I have been wishing we had a camera inside the little birdhouse we have suspended from our deck roof. Every year a pair of wrens get busy flying in with bits of grass and twigs. All flights in and out are stealthy, flitting from bush to treebranch to edge of the railing. Then there will be a time of very little activity as Mama sits on their eggs. When the eggs hatch, Daddy sits up on top of the roof of the house and sings out how proud he is every day. And the parents start flying in with bugs and other delicious treats for their brood, again with great stealth manouvers. I have never seen the youngsters leave their safe little home. Charlie is quite interested in them, especially when proud papa sings, but there is no way she can get to them. After 3 inches of rain in the past couple of weeks, I was finally able to get out into the garden this week to combat weeds by hand, and dh got the tractor and rototiller out there yesterday evening, so it looks alot better now. Still needs alot of work, but better than it was. Today another inspector showed up to approve our septic system. When we get his report we will be able to pay all the remaining fees and finalize the subdivision of this quarter section (1/2 mile square) of land. We will have 130 acres of farm land, plus two acreages--one for the existing house & yard and one for the "old yard" where dh's parents lived and he grew up. Okay. Gotta figure out something for supper. TTYL.

Is it still cool enough to camp in NM, MARIBETHR? Dd & family will be heading out to a local lake next weekend I think and will be there a week, through Canada Day. Not really, and it is very smoky here with all the fires. Thankfully yesterday and today we have had cloud cover and rain. Thank the Lord we so needed. We always go in the spring and the fall Apr/May Sep/Oct.

But it feels over the top this year lol! nylene I'm so glad cousin camp was a success and that Alex was able to be there. I'll bet they all had a blast! Linda I love your new furniture! Hello, all! Do you ever get caught up when you get behind? I let everything slide for a couple of weeks and now I need to put things back together again. DGD Sammie (15) has emailed me her latest book to read. I feel very privileged because this is the 3rd one she has shared with me and she's just now sharing her first with her parents. It's a 100,000 words and I want to sit and read all day. I am just amazed at her writing ability. I will pace myself and read while getting back into the swing of things around here. She was hoping to have it in the form needed so we could bind it while she was here, but it still needed a bit of work before printing. I want to get back to scrapping too but it will be a few days. I did take a bit of time last night to make the Sheetload cards for this month. joyfulnana, I am glad that things are going well with your mother's move. An online scrappy day with family sounds wonderful. I am missing the online crops and the visiting. I hope to get back into it soon and hosting a Sat. evening. Is Rudy involved in any summer activities? Em put Alex in some community classes related to technology and coding. He seems to be happy to be involved with others. He really is happier with other children. That's probably because he's an "only child" now with his sisters grown and gone. kellyr21, I have watched some of those bird cams. So interesting. Steve's cancer doctor has a huge screen in his waiting room with live bears being shown in the wild. It's fun to watch them catch and eat fish. I don't mind the wait at all if I can watch them. Enjoy your walks. How I wish I could join you for a short walk each day. maribeth, I have thought of you as we have smelled the smoke from some of the fires in Utah. I'm grateful that you got some rain to help mitigate the drought. We are really worrying about water for the summer. We are already getting restrictions. Are you on restrictions also? Seems like the west is burning up and the other places in the country are flooding. Take care of yourselves in your hot little corner of the west. Linda, I love the photo of your new "variety" of bird. LOL. He's a sneaky one figuring out how to get the bird food. I hope you enjoy watching him. How is the weather there? I'm sure you are in the hot season already. What is DD doing in her Girl Scouting for the summer? grammadee, wow, 3 inches of rain in a week. That's a lot of rain. It's so nice for crops, but also for weeds, unfortunately. You have really been busy getting the paperwork done for the subdivision. It will be nice when it is all finished. Is it your DD or DS that wants to build on one of the pieces? I need to get moving so I can avoid feel guilty about spending some of the afternoon reading.

Happy Friday! Sending you all a wave hello! Happy it is the weekend now. Not much planned but hope to make it to the park to chill out. We did go to the first park concert of the Summer last Wednesday. I was so glad the thunderstorms stopped so we could enjoy the evening, DRY! LOL! They had a pop music band. Ron and I were just singing along. Next week is a Mariachi band, I think. nylene- Your dgd is to talented. What are the themes of her books? So cool! Yeah, I wish we could walk together and chat! linda- How are your other pets doing? joyfulnana- I know how you feel. It seems hotter out here than usual too. Normally June isn't this hot. SMH
