Layered Life Kits came out with their first kit tonight. layeredlifekits.comWhat's everyones thoughts? Me? I bought it but I knew I would before I ever saw it. Its called the "Pink Royal Hawaiian' and that's a hotel on beach where we stayed last September when we were in Hawaii. Im anxious to see it in person! |

My friends got married there! It's such a beautiful hotel and this kit is so pretty. I haven't bought it yet because I'm trying to stick to a budget this month but I have a feeling it will make its way to my house.  |

I love everything Christine does so I’ve been waiting anxiously for this! I love love love the colors. I wish it was more than just ephemera but understand that’s coming later. I think it’s versatile enough and not too themed. I’m not loving the price for three packs of ephemera. But obviously I’ll buy it!

I was excited for this kit to take off. But 1. I have no need for this very specific themed kit and 2. No way am I paying $25 for embellishments and a stupid door hanger.

I'm on the fence about this. I really, really (really!) like the aesthetic. But it's expensive for paper die-cuts and some cards (especially with international shipping) and this first kit is extremely specific in theming.
I do have a future vacation planned in that general side of the world but not Hawaii. French Polynesia is very different in terms of westernisation so a lot of these hotel/motel-geared items wouldn't work. Anything saying "Hawaii" or "Aloha" wouldn't work either. ETA: And no Tiki Room in Disneyland Paris either. As I start crossing off everything that would just stay in my stash, I wasn't left with enough paper goods to justify the high price point of this paper kit. Maybe a small stamp set would've swayed me? I'm not sure.
I could be tempted with a theme that I'd use every single piece of paper of... Looking forward to what's coming next! Christmas in this style would be hard to resist.

Ok I LOVE IT!
However, it’s $33 Canadian and the cheapest shipping option is $27!!!! So $60 for ephemera. Effin ridiculous.
The door hanger says “not right now”. Um yeah, not ever.

The first page says 'We're here to help you document your personal narrative using carefully curated modern retro designs and 'plot twisting' themes in monthly kit form; ephemera, stickers, paper, and all other goods that make this hobby awesome.' But under the June kit it just says ephemera. I most likely won't buy every month but this month was 100% perfect for my trip last year. |

And I would rather have pieces I will use vs. just 'fillers' to have a larger pack. To each their own. I love this months kit and know I will use it. Depending on what the future kits are like, I may or may not buy them. I do enjoy that I dont have to commit to kits in the future or have to remember to unsubscribe. |

We figure if visiting a new destination each kit, you might as well be greeted by an ol'familiar hotel door hanger They are really loving the door hanger...  It is a cute kit! It is too detailed for me at this time. However if one came out about say, Banff or the Canadian Rockies...I'd snap it up in a heartbeat. |

I love the colors in it! If I had a vacation planned or wanted to document this kind of trip, I would buy it, even with the cost being what it is.
My interest is piqued for their future releases.
And side note, one of their DT members is a doppelgänger for a high school friend. I had to look twice, then remind myself that we’ve been out of high school for decades and no longer resemble our former selves, lol

I love this so much! So, so, so much! There is quite a lot of this that I could use despite not having been to Hawaii, and I don't even mind the cost of the kit, but like kelaur, I am choking on the shipping price to Canada. I get that shipping is expensive, but the ephemera should pretty much fit in a letter envelope and I cannot figure $21USD for shipping to Canada. That said, I may not be able to hold out forever and will keep watching for upcoming kits. |

SHIPPING - US Domestic First Class Orders $4, Canada First Class International $12, All others undergo calculation at checkout. I still think 12 dollars is a lot!

I love this kit and really want to buy it. I keep going to look at it. Thing is I don’t need anything. I may wait and see what comes out next month and then pick up that and this if it’s available.
This is what I tell myself. Then it sells out and I tell myself it’s not meant to be. 🤣

mom let us know what you think when you get the kit. It's really cute, if a little pricey. I don't have a need for this one but I like the style a lot. could see picking one up in the future. I'm still on the fence about my CD kit but the last 3 I haven't loved and I'm not hot on the July sneaks either so I might be in the market for something knew.
