Ooooh, 27% at Rotten Tomatoes. That's too bad. I like Melissa McCarthy a lot.

I want to see it but I was wondering if they put most of the funny stuff in the trailers like they do on so many other movies.

I think it looks horribly stupid. Which I find sad, cuz I LOVE Melissa. Plus she and her hubby wrote it, directed it, pretty much sunk money in to it. I think it's gonna bomb!

Loved Melissa McCarthy on Gilmore Girls (haven't watched Mike & Molly, but it looks cute), but doesn't it seem like she only plays trashy, classless women in the movies?

I am not a fan of Susan Sarandon so that alone is keeping me from going.

I will wait until it comes to redbox, I don't like most stupid funny movies anyway, but my dh loves them.

I am not a fan of Susan Sarandon so that alone is keeping me from going. Why? I didn't think Susan was old enough to be Melissa's mother in the movie. Ok yes it's possible Susan would have had her when she was only 24 but seeing as how young Susan's real life daughter is and how young Susan looks, it just didn't fit.

I liked her in earlier movies but something about her mannerism's/personality just doesn't click with me. When she was on ANTM as a guest I could barely watch. She was in a sitcom recently (I don't remember which one) and I had to change the channel.

DH and I want to see it because the trailer made us laugh, but the reviews seem to be uniformly bad.

Oh, you mean the new "Tammy" movie. My first thought was the old Tammy movies with Debbie Reynolds. I guess showing my age.

DH said the reviews were bad but I still want to see it. I was just watching The Heat again on Cinemax or HBO and it's still funny to me.

Sometimes Melissa McCarthy is funny and sometimes not. I will eventually see Tammy and I hope I like it. I was looking forward to Identity Thief and The Heat, but found them both annoyingly unfunny. I did love her in Bridesmaids.

I heard yesterday that Susan Sarandon is her GRANDmother not her mother.

Yes, Susan is her grandmother in the movie, and wears a wig and make-up.

I did love her in Bridesmaids. I feel the same way. My husband and I saw The Heat at the theater and both of us were surprised by the language! Trust me, we swear too, but the amount of it in that movie was nuts! But we both laughed through that movie. I didn't care for Identity Thief at all though. I got the same feeling when I saw the previews for Tammy. I hope I am wrong! I'll wait for it to be released on DVD though.

The trailers look like it's funny, and I generally like Melissa McCarthy.
I feel like lately she keeps playing the same roles.

Washington Post gave it zero stars-never read a review that rated a movie that poorly. I'll probably watch it when it comes on cable, though, just because I like Melissa McCarthy.

We saw it at the drive-in last night and I laughed through the first half but the second half wasn't as funny. I think if you liked her in Bridesmaids you will like this.

My 12 yr old DD is wanting to watch it but it's rated R. What's in it that's bad? Would it be ok for her to watch?

I thought it had a few funny parts, but was depressing as a whole. Also, dh noticed that the scene with the male stripper we saw in the preview wasn't even in the movie. Wish I would have waited for it to come to Red box.

I just saw it - I was underwhelmed. It was slow, and the comedic parts were few and far between. It had kind of a sad depressing theme overall.

it looks far too stupid to me. I'm not into that kind of comedy (at least what it looks like from the trailers)
And I like both Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon.

I want to see it. I love Melissa McCarthy. Overall, I think the cast is fantastic. I'll go to most anything with Kathy Bates & Sandra Oh in it.
