Watching Karen Burniston's class today--too skittish to actually MAKE the card, but I did most of the die cutting from the supplies supplied in the kit, and watched her assemble the pieces. I will stop & start her video when i am actually making this card.
But I want to make four cards using these dies and my own supplies, change up the colours, etc. She recommends 100lb cs, and if I were shopping in person I could probably judge cs weight based on the pieces supplied with the kit. But to order on line, where would I get this from?
Oh, and she also remcommends SMOOTH card stock.

Bazzill’s Card Shoppe collection is smooth, 100 lbs/270 gsm, & available at SB.com, ACOT, JoAnn, 12x12Cardstock, Ellen Hutson, SSS, Amazon, etc. HTH.

Neenah Classic Crest (not Exact Index) has a very nice and smooth 110 lb. cardstock. It's close enough to 100. A lot of card makers buy it in Solar White. It's sold by many shops, including Ellen Hutson, Simon, sometimes Amazon, etc. Scrapbook and Cards Today has a terrific, silky smooth 100 pound CS by Cougar that supposedly is only sold by them - they buy it directly from the mill - and although they're in Canada they ship to the U.S. Just change the dropdown menu to United States. (They also have 80 for layering.) scrapbookandcards.com/shop-sct/I mostly use Neenah but love the SCT. We got some in our boxes for their card making events. If you like I'd be glad to send you some Neenah. Just PM me. I'm sure others will have their favorites too. I wish Karen had given the gsm along with the weight, because four different 100 pound cardstocks could have very different thicknesses. Jennifer McGuire explains this very simply in the first few minutes of this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zixSptFRwQwAnd we don't have to understand gsm. It took me a long time to realize that. Just compare numbers. For example, I know if the gsm is fairly close to 300 it will be a substantial cardstock that's great for bases. ETA In the same video right after she compares the two Neenah, she shows another option of heavy weight cardstock.

I use the recollections heavy 100lb from michaels. It's thicker than a lot of 100lb bc of the GSM. It is smooth too.

Their thinner stuff cuts really well with dies and Silhouette, but it tends to split when it folds, so wouldn't work for pop up cards. Have you used their thicker cs for pop ups?

But for the pop-ups, I would need coloured cs and they appear to have only white. I know there could be lots of ways to colour it or cover it, but these pop ups already need a gazillion pieces cut, so I don't really want to add any more steps to the process right now.

Ugh, teach me to read too fast. I was thinking white! How about a sample pack from PTI? Quite a few different sample packs, depending on if you want more pastel, bright, etc. Nice quality, smooth, thick enough. www.papertreyink.com/paper-basics/

Good pricing. 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/131282/rqotd-colored-cardstockAnother option is Cardstock Warehouse, where you can buy single sheets—or more—of any colors you like. They call them samples. PopTone could be a good option. www.cardstock-warehouse.com/collections/pop-tone-collection

The majority of colored cardstock sold by stamping companies is smooth 100 lb (there might possibly be a few that are 110, you'd have to double check). Off the top of my head, that includes My Favorite Things, Simon Says Stamp, Hero Arts, Lawn Fawn, Spellbinders, Papertrey and Gina K. I'm sure there are others I'm not thinking of too. It's actually a lot more rare to find 80lb cardstock; the only two I can think of that make it are Concord & 9th and Stamp Market.

One of my friends is on the DT for 12x12 cardstock shop. I haven't purchased from them but they seem to have a lot of sizes, styles and colors. Different shops may charge very differently for shipping to Canada so it might be good to have a few different shop options. Linking to their drop down for "solid smooth" www.12x12cardstock.shop/collections/smooth-cardstock-with-solid-colors

After posting and reading replies to that thread I ordered a pack each of Lawn Fawn, Hero Arts, and Spellbinder CSs in each company's equivalent of off-white. An additional order coming from Papertrey is supposed to be delivered later today. <---- I really hated buying from them after reading about how unhappy people have been with them in the past, but decided to give it a go. I also have a pack from SSS that I received a couple weeks ago. I am looking for my holy grail in an off-white/ivory card base for when I want something softer than solar white Neenah. If ya'll are interested, I'll post my thoughts after I have them in hand and have cut and otherwise handled them a bit.

Neenah manufactures many colors, including off whites, and the company has a swatch book. It may have been free when I got it? They also mailed huge pieces sample cardstock at no charge. I don’t know if that practice has continued. It really was so companies could decide what papers they wanted for their letterhead, brochures, etc. Then we crafters learned about it. I just paid for shipping. www.neenahpaper.com/brands/classic-crest-papers

I completely forgot that they do colors. DUH. I might have to order one of their softer whites after I work down some of these other packs I ordered. So far the packs I've received are all more yellow than I'd prefer. Thank you (I think)! ETA: They have a $10 swatchbook. It doesn't have everything, but I think it may have most of what I'd be interested in so I may go that route.

It’s a little confusing. Or was. And you can call to ask about a paper sample. They’re huge because they’re sized to go through a press for testing. I just remembered a smooth, off white/cream CS I used to buy at an LSS that went out of business. It was from The Paper Cut. I think I have a piece left. Way back when one of the owners guessed what it was, but suggested I cut a little piece and send it to them to identify it. They used to go to the Stamp & SB Expos, and have all kinds of unusual CS too - different shapes like circles and squares, folded cards with windows, gatefolds, kits, etc. Family owned business. I’ll make a note to send that off and will call them to to recheck what they thought it was. thepapercut.com

A bit off topic, but what Karen Burniston class and project are you watching, please?
I have several of her pop-up dies. I love her products.

BTW, Hero Arts CS has always had high quality CS and they’ve just come out with a new color system, including matching ink for those who want to match. (I never have gone that route.) They’ve sponsored charity events and designed stamp sets to help causes—like six stamps to support Ukraine—and have given card makers who once worked for them boosts in the industry - like Jennifer McGuire. I just think they’re an ethical, solid family owned company. Their “Good Buy Bin” has some good deals of retired products and some of theiir specialty papers are nice. They used to sell a pack of mystery papers—my word, not theirs—and some of my favorite papers were included. The only problem was some were retired. They also sell lots of coordinated cube ink bundles. heroarts.com/heroarts.com/collections/support-ukraine

I was just looking at the Hero Arts website, CardBoxer. Lots of and excitement this week on other sites about PhotoPlay now producing MyColors cs. Have you used it? Is it smooth? How heavy is it? A bit off topic, but what Karen Burniston class and project are you watching, please? I signed up for her "Spotlight" class kit with two mini-ball gnomes in a slimline card. The class kit came with the dies for the gnomes and for the slimline card decorations. She spends time demoing the actual card design which most card makers wouldn't need. For assembling the gnomes, it is a little more detailed than the video attached to the mini ball dies in her store, but if you have the mini ball dies you could figure it out.

In my opinion, it does not stack up to the old stuff, but it is usable, so I certainly won't waste it.
