This setback will have the most impact on lower income women who are already struggling. They will not have the disposable income to go to a neighboring state for health care/abortions like wealthy women will be able to do. The wealthy women will still be able to get the abortions that they need because they have the money, time and transportation to get there. Which makes it essential to donate to organizations that get low income women out of states like mine to get the care they need. My husband’s company has already added language to their benefits package that says they’ll pay up to $2500 for any employee to receive medical care out of state if they can’t get it within a certain mile radius of their home. Other companies here have done the same. It’s not enough, but it’s what we can do right now. Hopefully this will galvanize more voters to turn out and vote blue in November. |

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement after a Republican-appointed Supreme Court majority voted to overturn Roe v. Wade:
“Today, the Republican-controlled Supreme Court has achieved the GOP’s dark and extreme goal of ripping away women’s right to make their own reproductive health decisions. Because of Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, the Republican Party and their supermajority on the Supreme Court, American women today have less freedom than their mothers.
“With Roe now out of their way, radical Republicans are charging ahead with their crusade to criminalize health freedom. In the Congress, Republicans are plotting a nationwide abortion ban. In the states, Republicans want to arrest doctors for offering reproductive care and women for terminating a pregnancy. GOP extremists are even threatening to criminalize contraception, as well as in-vitro fertilization and post-miscarriage care.
“A woman’s fundamental health decisions are her own to make, in consultation with her doctor and her loved ones – not to be dictated by far-right politicians. While Republicans seek to punish and control women, Democrats will keep fighting ferociously to enshrine Roe v. Wade into law.
“This cruel ruling is outrageous and heart-wrenching. But make no mistake: the rights of women and all Americans are on the ballot this November.”

I am so upset. We are descending into 1930s Germany and anyone who doesn't believe that to be true has not followed the clear and systemic removal of rights to American citizens. Women have more rules than guns and soon LGBTQ+ will have no rights. Birth control? Only if you live in a blue state. This is terrifying.

Let's regulate men's bodies in the states that regulate women's bodies. All men must have a vascectomy when they reach puberty and all men over 18 much donate a kidney. That's very pro-life. And donate bloody regularily and all must be organ donors.

😟 I’m sorry that the minority are ruling the freedom of choice for others. This will only end in heartbreak for so many in the future. Abortions have gone on since the beginning of time,this decision isn’t going to stop them. It will only put more women at risk of dying from back street abortions.

I’m seriously considering setting aside money for these women; travel expenses, procedure cost…hell, I’ll even let them stay with me. Trigger law in Missouri has gone into effect, abortion is now illegal there. I fully expect them to pass legislation to go after women who go out of state to get an abortion. The heathen state of Illinois is right next door, can’t have that happening
It feels like my body can’t possibly hold this much hate.
