I believe Arkansas also just had the trigger law. Closest state for anyone wanting an abortion will be Illinois.

Trigger law in Missouri has gone into effect, abortion is now illegal there. I fully expect them to pass legislation to go after women who go out of state to get an abortion. The heathen state of Illinois is right next door, can’t have that happening It feels like my body can’t possibly hold this much hate. Right? It’s a horrible feeling, but dammit, this is personal.

I know some Peas frown upon marches or protesting, but I'm not one of them. They do make an impact. If we don't turn out in record numbers, the populace will take that as a sign of surrender, that we give up. Democracy requires eternal vigilance. Our ladylike, quiet, polite votes are not enough. Bans of Our Bodies protestsI was just going to say it’s time to hit the streets and RAISE HELL.

Now, I'm going to help my daughter figure out how she can get a hysterectomy (her choice).
Abortion is illegal in my state; trigger law.

Very sad and disheartening to hear.
IMO reading the Pro Life intent statement/ad is like all advertising and you have read the small print:
Claim: We are fighting for all children (even those that are not children yet).
Disclaimer: Does not pertain to/void for - children killed, maimed, dragged through wars - Children dying of poverty - Children living and dying in 3rd world countries - Children in foster care and orphanages - Children at borders whose parent(s) made the biggest sacrifice a parent can make, endured unimaginable hardships and risking their lives to try and get their child a better life - Children living in abusive or neglectful homes - Children dying of curable diseases and/or of diseases that have vaccinations - Children killed in school shootings or other gun violence - Any other Child we deem not worthy of pro life support

Abortion did not need to be in the Constitution, it was common knowledge!!!! Printed in a readily available booklet!! Thanks Ben Franklin!! [The book] starts to prescribe basically all of the best-known herbal abortifacients and contraceptives that were circulating at the time," Farrell said. "It's just sort of a greatest hits of what 18th-century herbalists would have given a woman who wanted to end a pregnancy early." It's very explicit, very detailed, [and] also very accurate for the time in terms of what was known ... for how to end a pregnancy pretty early on."Including this information in a widely circulated guide for everyday life bears a significance to today's heated debate over access to abortion and contraception in the United States. In particular, the leaked Supreme Court opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade and states that "a right to abortion is not deeply rooted in the nation's histories and traditions." Farrell said the book was immensely popular, and she did not find any evidence of objections to the inclusion of the section. "It didn't really bother anybody that a typical instructional manual could include material like this," she said. "It just wasn't something to be remarked upon. It was just a part of everyday life."www.npr.org/2022/05/18/1099542962/abortion-ben-franklin-roe-wade-supreme-court-leakthis interview was produced for radio by megan lim and edited by sarah handel. it was adapted for the web by manuela lopez restrepo.

You mad? Get involved at the state level because that’s where the power has been returned to. “The Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113, and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pa. v. Casey, 505 U. S. 833, are overruled; the authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives.”Republicans in Congress want to create a nationwide ban on abortions.

I cry for my DD and all the younger women of this country. I'm too old for green and not really mean enough for brown I guess I need to start hoarding gray so I can be a Martha. Or cross the border to freedom! Gilead here we come. The thing is that it is just not everyone's DD. Our DS will be in the middle of this mess too...

I know this much. If I were a young woman, I would make sure that I ended up in a blue state.

So much more important than the environment, mass shootings, and human rights. We really do have our priorities straight here.

I am so mad, sad and frustrated our country has to come to this. My nieces and granddaughter are now going to live in a world with less rights than myself and my mother.

I believe Arkansas also just had the trigger law. Closet state for anyone wanting an abortion will be Illinois. I have guest rooms and will put anyone up who needs it here in Illinois. My daughter is in Chicago today - was going to do other stuff but now is going to join a protest instead.

I'm in IL, too. Here's an org that can help: midwestaccesscoalition.org/They had a large influx of volunteers, so that's good. We can also donate. Also, if you know someone in the midwest who needs access to a safe, legal abortion, you can share this resource!

Republicans in Congress want to create a nationwide ban on abortions. It’s officially a state issue now. They will absolutely attempt to codify this at a national level, regardless of the Supreme Court decision.

Republicans in Congress want to create a nationwide ban on abortions. It’s officially a state issue now. Currently, but the elected GOP have openly stated that this opens the floodgates to a nationwide ban and we can already be sure they have the legislation written up to be brought to the floor ASAP. To believe otherwise is willful ignorance.

They have already said they, GQP, will vote for total ban in January 2023!! However they will have to have the votes to override Biden's veto!!! Vote vote vote ... The only way to go!!!

I think he has a point that some of the justices think they are special and they are not to be questioned because, you know, they are special.

So Thomas thinks Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell are all ripe for overturning but not Loving v. Virginia? Fucking delusional.

To believe otherwise is willful ignorance. You can take your condescending attitude and shove it your ass. I only spoke the truth. It's hard to hear, I know.
