Glad you got some scrappin' done, gramma ! I hope the MOJO stays with you. Will take a closer look later this evening at your fun birthday LO's on Flickr. I hung out with justjac for abit on line this morning and put a LO together. Have another one in progress all over my scrap counter. We are heading to the neighbours' for a wiener roast. Made me think of LisaDV and their backyard fire pit. Lisa, hope you check in here from time to time to let us know how you are doing.

gramma , so nice to see you scrapping and posting. I really love the candles. Both pages are so bright and full of birthday fun. You have love in the gallery. kellyr21 , thanks for the link to the classes. I have taken quite a few of them over the years. Cindy recommended one to me when I first got my Silhouette. Then she walked me through the problems. Some of the classes are mostly advertising, but I have picked up some good tips. Some are really good! Linda , I'm sorry for your aging kitty woes. Every one of your cats is lucky to be in your home. knutschen , I hope you are doing well. Drop in when you get a minute. I've been thinking about you. kitbop , I hope you are having a great vacation and aren't worrying about anything. You deserve a break! grammadee , your wiener roast sounds fun tonight. Glad you got some scrappy time with justjac . We took a little road trip through the canyon today. We had lunch at a favorite spot and started home, only to be caught in a huge traffic jam. We averaged about 5 mph all the way down the canyon. It was still worth it to get out into the world for a while today.

great layouts gramma - I really like that splattered background on Kyle's and the candle border on Andrew's grammadee - how fun to hang out online - enjoy your weiner roast Thanks nylene - I wouldn't trade them for the world even when they make life difficult. Your outing sounds lovely except for the traffic. DH and I went furniture shopping this morning. We found a recliner we liked at the first stop but didn't get it. Then at the next stop found a couch and loveseat we both liked - couch will be delivered Wednesday morning just before my sister arrives and the loveseat has been ordered and will hopefully only take a couple of weeks. We ended up going back to the first stop this afternoon and getting the recliner - it's already set up in the living room. They are all dark blue (living room is very neutral - off white walls, beige carpet, stone fireplace). Hoping to get a layout started this evening...

Our plans for next week (camping today until friday) have been cancelled The weather looked dreadful in the forecast - too much rain and wind. The forecast has actually improved a little today but we had to make the decision yesterday as to cancel or not, or we wouldn't get any refund! As it is, we only got 60% back. But we're not good wet campers - we are tent campers and while we are very good at "tarping up" for periodic rain, if there is a lot of rain it's impossible to dry wood and towels and such. Oh well, we'll have to figure out some fun stuff around here! gramma - love those birthday layouts. My favourite points are the bordered page, and the balloon and candle paper piecing! nylene - coming home yesterday, there were a few sticky spots on the "401" - that's our huge highway here - but we opted to get off the highway and travel through part of Toronto instead. It was a little quicker that way, and even though you are fighting city driving and traffic lights, at least you are on the move and have the option to stop if you need a washroom! I grew up in Vancouver, and there are no "alternative routes" there because of all the bridges and rivers and mountains. Linda - so wonderful to have new furniture! Yay for you guys!

grammadee That’s not good DH is having problems like that. I have no idea how they would clear it if it’s plague or maybe plaque lol. Your day shopping and running errands, and spending time with justjac sounds wonderful! I really need to remember that I do have an LSS 30 minutes from me and go check out stuff in person. It’s so easy to order online though lol. Linda I’m sorry Midnight is having some not fun issues. But at least the smell came out! I’m always so worried my apartment will smell like a cat lol. Glad your family made it back safe and sound and I hope you enjoyed your time on your own. New furniture sounds so fun. I have been wanting to change all of my furniture out lately. That’s going to take some time though. Mostly getting the old stuff out is the problem. And it’s not like there is anything wrong with what I have. I just have the wantsies as Janet from RTS says lol. I’m sorry they never found DD’s scoliosis sooner. I hope the MRI doesn’t turn up anything else new for her. Enjoy your time with your sister! All of this stuff going on with mom has me and my siblings keeping in touch much more often and it’s been good. Dusty sounds so fun and cute. Good job keeping him in the scraps and not all over the full sheets of paper lol. nylene I’m so sorry to hear this about DH I’m so glad the DR double checked for you, that could have been a disaster. A day in the canyon sounds lovely! But the traffic back, ugh. I went to St Joe, about an hour from me, yesterday for a baby shower, and there was so much traffic. Way more than usual for a Saturday on the interstate. I guess people are getting out and about again. How awesome that Swayze was so glad to see you! And that you got some unexpected time with her! kitbop hurray for vacation! I’m sorry week two isn’t panning out the way you thought. I would never tent camp in the rain on purpose either lol. I’m sure you’ll find other fun! Man it’s been a week! Work, and two hours of TV three nights finishing Stranger Things lol. Rudy was over Friday night, I had a baby shower Saturday and man I don’t care to be so busy lol. I committed to finishing up my 2021 December album this month, and the more I work on it, the more stories I find I want to add. I’m never going to get it finished lol. Mom is back home and so far so good. She’s feeling and acting like her old self. It’s such a relief! Waving hi to everyone! I wish we could just have a big ole group hug sometimes

Good Morning Pokey's! I am back to finish catching up with all of you lol. Linda I hope it's something mild, although after Covid I am very aware of spreading anything contagious now. Were you able to get your extreme exhaustion righted? I was just thinking about that the other day. kellyr21 I did know sb.com offers free classes. And I have a whole lot of them in my account. I haven't done them all but the ones I did were pretty good for a free class. Which ones have you looked into? Is your drawing class a local online class? cycworker awesome that the sale worked for you! I'm like kitbop, it's too much hassle for me to try sell things so I just donate. And I never feel like I have "sale worthy" stuff lol. refugeepea I hope the wheelchair comes sooner than September. The shriners help so many families. My DS2 had to have knee surgery on both knees when he was about 17, and shriners took care of it all. It was amazing. I have been terrible about checking the sharing thread again. I wish I could get the mojo motor working full speed ahead, but it's sputtering like it wants to start instead lol. I hope everyone has an awesome Monday! oh yeah,Monday lol.

A quick check in this morning. Dd is reading with dgs before she starts her on line job. Not sure what my day with him will involve, but I am sure it will be BUSY! Wednesday to Friday ds's family will be staying here, so I am hoping to use some of dgs's energy to continue getting ready for them. Not getting new furniture like you, Linda, but need to spruce up some things around here in the next couple of days! Okay, gotta go. Have a wonderful week, Pokeys!

kitbop , this is vacation. Are you sure you want to paint the kitchen on vacation? LOL. So sorry that the weather didn't cooperate with your plans. Linda , I am sorry you are feeling sick. I had a sore throat 2 weeks ago that was not like any I have ever had before. It was sooo sore, but it was even worse in my glands. I felt like I had mumps. My head was also pounding and I worried about Covid. The next day it was much improved and totally gone the 3rd day. We decided it must not have been Covid. I hope what you have will disappear in 3 days and your family can still come visit. Hugs! grammadee , I don't think you will be bored this week. Sounds like lots of fun together. I need to get some things done around the house today. I hope I have time to do some scrapping. Here is a page I finished over the weekend. Just Like Mama

Last week was busy. Medical appointments, a wedding, and an unexpected issue with one of my kids. Things are good now. I have an appointment on Thursday to find out about my MRI. My husband invited his cousin and her husband for dinner tomorrow. I like them, but this is just not my thing. My husband told her all we really do is smoke chicken and that's it! So she's bringing everything else. Ugh! I said if everyone wasn't so picky, I'd make a better effort at making dinner. Knowing they were coming, I was going to make some sides and a dessert. Of course he didn't ask me first.
I've embellished four journal cards and that's the extent of my scrapping. I'll post them later.

refugeepea, hey, 4 embellished journaling cards qualifies to meet the Pokey Pea challenge, so good for you. I hope you get a satisfactory answer on your MRI. Keep in touch. I am not a fan of fixing dinner for others. I don't enjoy cooking and I am not a fancy cook. My DH would know better than to invite someone to dinner without telling me. He doesn't barbecue like most husbands, or do any other cooking either. He can make a great peanut butter and honey sandwich though.LOL I'm keeping him!!

nylene, I have let time get away from me. I am doing alright but getting over Covid. We are having an outbreak in our unit I work on. I somehow got exposed and didn't know it. Several of us got it but at least it has been mild. It has been 10 days now since I had my first symptoms and just trying to rest and let my body heal. I am sure my husband had it too but he refused to get tested. We both had the same symptoms. In May, my mom was diagnosed with uterine cancer. She had her surgery in June while I was on vacation from work. I was glad I was able to be at the hospital with my Dad on the day of her surgery. I got to meet her doctor and hear the findings after her surgery. My Dad is hard of hearing and I didn't realize how bad it was till that day. He even has hearing aids which help some. My Mom's cancer was a stage I. Since the tumor was at 57% in the uterine wall, they decided to do radiation to be safe. She has her 1st radiation appointment at the end of July. Hopefully, she does alright with all this and doesn't have too many side effects. My oldest niece is here for the summer. She lives in New York and is a teacher. She sublet her apartment and plans to be here till she has to return to school. When I feel safe being around my family again, I am hoping we can have some fun together! My youngest niece is getting married on July 30th. We are all traveling to Kansas City, where she lives. She is working on her Masters in Social Work currently at UMKC. I am excited about the wedding but it has turned into an expensive weekend for hotel and pet boarding. I think I have everything worked out with my pets now. I still need to find something to wear. I hope I can get that done soon. I have been playing around with Procreate on my iPad the last couple of nights. I am following some tutorials on Youtube to learn more about Procreate. I started watching one tonight about watercoloring your pet! I definitely want to learn that one. I got an idea last night to try to design a T-shirt. This is my first full week being back to work after being sick. I went back last Thursday and I was able to sleep all day and again at night! My sister told me that she felt like she was tired for a while before she felt normal again. I just hope I am past some of that. I was getting tired of my front flower bed because small trees had started to grow and it looked like a jungle! I was able to get that taken care of without feeling too tired afterward. That has to be a good sign. I hope everyone is doing alright and staying healthy!

grammadee = hope you had a fun day with DGS and aren't too tired kitbop - test was negative but we're all testing in the morning before they arrive (we're on their drive from his parents to where they live so if we or them test positive, they'll just continue home) Painting the kitchen doesn't sound like much fun Thanks nylene - what an adorable page - Swayzee is so BIG and I love the die cuts! refugeepea - ((((Hugs))) I'm sorry. nylene - yeah my DH doesn't really cook either - he can do eggs... knutschen - I'm glad that you're feeling better. Prayers for your mum Cleaning house today with DD's help

knutschen, I am so glad to hear from you. I'm sorry you are having residuals from Covid, but glad you are feeling better. How nice that you could be with your mother during her surgery and while she counseled with the doctor. I'm sure your dad was glad to have you there too, to explain what he may not have heard. I hope her radiation goes well. Is there a certain number of treatments she needs? I'm glad you will have your niece around to enjoy for a while this summer. And a Wedding! What fun. I hope you get all the arrangements and pet care taken care of so you can just relax at the wedding. I had to Google Procreate, and it looks like something you would really enjoy. Be sure to share what you create. I have a question I'm almost afraid to ask....did you ever get your garage door fixed??? Take care of yourself. We love having you drop by! Linda, I'm glad your test was negative. Are you feeling better? I hope your family can come to visit and that you will have a good time together. Covid has thrown a wrench in so many plans. It's nice that sometimes we can get together with family again. DD called last night to say that our DGD will be induced on Wed. They are expecting a baby girl. They are in Idaho so we won't be able to see the new little one until Labor Day weekend. They plan to bless her at Tori's home that weekend, so we will be able to be there. Our family is growing! We are having record heat waves, as are most of the nation and other countries. We were at 107 degrees yesterday, a record high since records were kept. Luckily, I have not had to be outside or driving around, and can stay cool and hydrated in the house. DH is usually home from work by 11:00 am before it gets too hot. I'm glad he's not working outside full time. That's just too much heat! I am struggling with a page. I think I will just leave it sitting and see if it looks better later. Maybe some elves will come and make it more attractive. LOL Have a great day and stay inside and cool!

I am not a fan of fixing dinner for others. Cooking is hard work! I don't mind cooking, but DH helps a LOT, or I'll grab one of the kids and make them my sous-chef. In a couple of weeks, we go camping with our kids (minus Katie, she has to work), my MIL and her husband (they're driving here from BC) plus my BIL/SIL/niece. I will be doing all the cooking in advance for this, but we have a set menu for camping after all these years so other than the hours it takes to cook and freeze, there's very little thinking I need to do. But immediately after we get back from that, my BIL/SIL/niece from England are here for 3 days. We haven't seen them since 2017 - covid interupted more regular visits. BIL is celiac. SIL is pescatarian. Niece is quite picky. I have to get my thinking cap out or well be eating shrimp salad every day Congrats on the pending granddaughter nylene!!! Swayze is looking past "toddler" and into "pre-schooler/kindergartener" phase now. Amazing. It's over 100 here today as well due to the humidity. it has turned into an expensive weekend for hotel and pet boarding Ugh, yes, pet-sitting/boarding is so expensive! This summer, my DD can't come camping so we'll save that money - a bit of a perk! I'm sorry the covid caught up with you. Glad they caught your Mom's ca at stage 1. It's nice to be able to understand and help family when they are going through medical stuff. I can't believe you have 2 grown nieces. I had guessed you were in your early 30s? Linda - feeling any better yet? We did end up painting the kitchen yesterday/today. We repainted the side table and pantry cabinet we have as well to freshen everything up. Only the ceiling is left (and I might leave that for DH...)

nylene - a new baby is always exciting news! stay cool! kitbop - cooking is hard work - especially with special diets and pickiness. Dh doesn't cook so on nights I'm not up to it (like tonight) it becomes a dig in the fridge night. DD cooks but she's not usually able to just jump in and cook whatever I had planned - she needs notice and to prepare herself for cooking. I'm feeling better - test was negative but we'll all test tomorrow morning before my sister gets here (and she and BIL will also test before they leave her FILs). I'm still coughing and tired though. I overdid it today (cleaning) and am wiped out now. Took DD for her PT intake tonight. I think she's feeling validated after several years of paediatricians writing her ankle pain off as 'growing pains' because it didn't hurt to the touch and didn't swell (it mostly hurts at night). There's definitely a lack of flexibility and less range of motion in her right hip and a lack of stability in her left ankle (the one that hurts).

Good Tuesday evening, Pokeys. A new great grandbaby, nylene. How exciting! Is that a sister for Swayzee? She is looking like a very grown up young lady! Will check out your lovely page when I get back to Flickr. Hoping you find a way to stay cool! knutschen, I am glad you dropped in. Glad you are feeling well enough to go to work, but hope you don't overdo it. Sending healing vibes to your mom. How wonderful to have family time to look forward to. I hope you continue to feel better, Linda. You will need some energy to visit when your sister gets there. Congrats on getting your house clean today. I need to do that tomorrow. And we need to do some putting away in the basement and also clean the deck. Ds & family will be arriving some time in the afternoon. Too bad about your changed holiday plans, kitbop, especially since the weather outlook has changed. Glad you are going to get to go camping in a couple of weeks. YOU will be exhausted after a week of camping and then returning home to a houseful. Hope you have some wonderful family time. I am feeling pretty tired tonight after two days grandparenting while dd works remotely from her room here. Today we picked peas and took the bottles in to the bottle depot and bought groceries. Came home and played cards then did some playing around with inks and brushes. By 4:00PM I had a migraine aura. Dd took him to town to pick up pizza for all of us for supper. No cooking tonight. (After an Advil and 20 minutes sitting in a windowless bathroom in the dark, the aura seems to have retreated. Hope the headache it often promises stays away. I am hoping to keep food prep easy while we have a houseful. Frozen homemade lasagna with salad on Wednesday evening. Fresh peas served in the pods. Beef on a bun on Thursday, with the roast cooking in the portable oven on the deck. Our barBQ has a gas burner on it, so I will probably cook the new potatoes out there too. Our temps have not been crazy, but this is the hottest it has been all year. Okay. Gotta go spend a bit of time with dd. We may watch Amazing Race Canada on TV after dgs is in bed.

grammadee, I hope the migraine stayed away. By the time I get the aura I know I'm doomed. Take care of yourself, you have a lot of people around who need you. I hope you all have a good time together. Linda, how are you feeling today? I have exciting news, DGD Kayla had a baby girl last night. She was 7 lbs 1 oz and has curly blond hair like her daddy. Her name is Hailey Grace. Mother and baby are doing well. I can't wait to see her.

We did end up painting the kitchen yesterday/today. We repainted the side table and pantry cabinet we have as well to freshen everything up. Only the ceiling is left (and I might leave that for DH...) Any tips on what you used? We've been in our house since 2007. I've been wanting to do a refresh to ALL the rooms! We have honey oak cabinets (house was built in 1999). We also have a kitchen table and bar stools that could use a makeover. Since then, we have put different floors in the main area and they clash bad with the wood in the house. I knew I would want to do something different in the kitchen eventually, so I went with the floors that I liked.
We are slowly repainting all the walls Benjamin Moore Pale Oak in the main areas (it's very open).

refugeepea and kitbop , we need to do some painting clear through the house. DH hates painting and I know I can't do it alone. When I decide what I want I may call my contractor son to see if I could hire his paint subs. Best wishes with all your painting plans. I was going through old paper and came across a piece of 1997 Provo Craft (I think) paper. I was determined to use it for old time's sake. Does this bring back memories to any of you scrappers? 100 % Boy It was so similar to the inspiration page for Quarter 3, I just added some spatters, doodling, a die cut ball cap and called it done.

I am feeling a bit better - still tired and coughing. My sister and BIL left this morning at 530 and will meet up with my older kids for dinner tonight in Virginia. nylene -I did enjoy the visit - they are early to bed so I was able to be also. Flip-side is they are early to rise as well so I was up before the sun with them and we had a whirlwind day yesterday that completely exhausted me. They would normally have been able to stay an extra day but it's 2 days drive each way and they spent part of the week with her ILS further south and are then packing one last load of stuff from their place in Connecticut and bringing to the new house in Vermont on Sunday so that one week of vacation was tight for them.

Hi Pokey Friends! I hope you all are doing well. I've been a complete slacker about scrapping the past couple of months. I have started playing a bit with a Heidi Swapp memory planner. I like it better than when I've tried to do pocket pages. I'm working on memory planner pages from the past couple of months now. Of course I NEEDED lots of new supplies to play with...lol. I have too much stuff already for the amount of space I have. We are busy getting ready for our youngest (Griffin) to start college in about a month. I'm pretty nervous about him going to live on campus. He is really bright, but has autism, so I probably do more for him than I should. I've been working on teaching him to have more living skills the past year, but it still makes me nervous. He just doesn't recognize what's going on around him socially or from a safety perspective. But he will be in a program that gives more support to students like him, so I'm praying that it goes okay. Nylene - Congrats on the new great grand baby! I remember when Kayla was little...time definitely flies by. The pages you posted are super cute. You always do such a great job with them. I think we are opposites about the entertaining. I love to cook for people and tend to go waaay overboard. The kids say I'm an Italian grandma who is always trying to shove food down people...lol. I invite our neighbors over randomly just to feed them, but I think it's fun. Knutshcen - I hope you are feeling better! My daughter, Mallory, works at a children's hospital and just got it for the second time this year. All of the nurses have been getting it again. Thankfully she got over it in 3-4 days. It's really nice to see you all and to catch up a bit. Hope you have a happy weekend!

shinyhappytina , so good to see your smiling face pop up. I can't believe that little blond Griff is ready for college. Seems like he should be in Jr. High! I hope he does well in college. We have a DGS with autism who is a senior in college and has managed pretty well. He also doesn't take notice of what is going on socially around him, but he works full time and takes a full load of classes and seems very happy. How are your girls doing? What does Mallory do at the children's hospital? I can believe you would love to entertain. Wish you lived close so you could cook for us! LOL. Have fun with your new planner pages supplies. I'd love to see what you have made! grammadee , I didn't answer your question about Hailey. Her mom and Eddie's mom are sisters, so they will be cousins close to the same age. Swayzee is our son's granddaughter. She got up one morning and went to the kitchen to inform her mom that her brother and sister will be coming soon! ? They have not really talked about a sibling for her yet. Maybe she knows something they don't. LOL

Congratulations on the new great grandbaby, nylene! Can't wait to see pages about little Hailey! No wonder Swayzee is wanting a new sibling with all the cousins being born! But my db's dgd told her mom she was going to have a sister before her mom knew she was pregnant with their 4th baby, and that was a girl, so maybe the little ones DO know! Hoping everyone is surviving the heat! I was afraid the house would be hot while everyone was here, but we managed to keep it livable because the nights have been cooler and even the hottest day was not over 28C (about 85F). And today the temp has maintained about 20C, so a nice relief from the few hot days we had. Great to hear from you shinyhappytina. I hope your ds will do well in college. It might be an advantage for him not to notice all the social dynamics. It is wonderful that he can handle the academics so well. I hope you get a good rest now, Linda. Ds & family left mid morning to drive to his other brother's home today before flying home tomorrow. Dd and family left around noon. I cleaned up the kitchen after the requested bacon & waffle brunch and lay down to watch TV. Good thing the show I was watching was recorded, cuz I fell asleep and missed most of it. Still planning on getting to bed early tonight. I like to cook simple meals that are not really labour intensive and that can accommodate changes in people's schedules. Our nephew was baling hay yesterday and when his wife phoned to say they would be an hour late for supper, I told them it wasn't souffle so they could just eat when they got here. I was disappointed that our potatoes were not yet large enough to serve new ones from the garden (ended up doing foil packages of sliced potatoes and onions on the bbq), but the group of a dozen people ate two gallons of peas in the shell last night and really enjoyed them. And they made quite a dent in the 14 lb roast I had slow cooked all afternoon in the portable oven. I had alot of fun taking photos of the girls as they relived their adventures as youngsters. They were happy to recreate photos from 2011 after poring over the scrapbooks, and even dressed the parts. Then they set off to check out all their other remembered activities and special places. They picked peas and raspberries, played in the play park, blew bubbles, and played tag in the yard (They are 12, 16, and 20 years old!). Mikey loved having the cousins here, and they were really good with him. He had purchased a Rainbow Loom at a garage sale the week before and brought it because he thought the girls would like it, so they spent lots of time making bracelets with little rubber bands, and teaching him how. Besides my own pic's, the girls and their mom have sent me pic's of the Calgary Stampede and their time with the cousins in the Calgary area. Now I can't wait to print the pic's on my phone and camera!
