kitbop - glad you've gotten a good new machine - Happy Washing! refugeepea I love the font on fright night especially - great layout- thanks for sharing. As for the where - here is always fine - the Pokeys love seeing each other's creations and there are points for sharing here as well (details in nylene 's 1st post of the month). There's also a quarterly sharing thread on the GS board as well.

Welcome, refugeepea! I am lucky enough to have met you and your children, but tell us a little about you. I thought of you the other night when there was so much thunder and lightning. The news said you got a lot more than we did. We got a lot of rain, but none in the carport and in the house this time. Okay, back on my laptop and my apologies for reading the June Pokey Peas challenge and adding all the likes. I am now back on the right thread!
Not much to tell about me. Besides scrapping, I've really been into audiobooks the last few months. I like keeping my hands busy. I bought a diamond dot painting on Amazon out of curiosity and it's been fun. I like cross stitch in very small doses. I have used a stitched die on some of my pages. My youngest is special needs; Autism, epilepsy, non-verbal. He's my full time job. I have two adult children who live at home and work.
Unusual day at "work" for me today: landed in ER myself at 9:30 after having some strange cardiac-like symptoms. Got home at 4pm after 2 EKGs, 2 rounds of blood work, a day of cardiac monitoring, a chest x-ray and a leg ultrasound. I am grateful for universal health care guys. I'm absolutely fine. It was most likely a "transient" arrhythmia which obviously had gone before my coworkers got me to ER. But it left me a little shaken for sure. And, my bloodwork showed that I have a virus...so obviously they covid tested me...meaning I'm not allowed to work tomorrow. I'm glad you're okay! Anyway... I am not doing well with the silent treatment, so I'm going to have to address it one way or the other. I'm sorry. That is rough. You did what you could to reach out to her.
We celebrated the Fourth by picking cherries on my nephew's tree. My favorite way to eat them is frozen! We drove by a Hawaiian shave ice truck and got a nice COOL treat. nylene I can't remember if you saw the western themed park where I live, but that's where the truck was parked. We had hamburgers and strawberry shortcake. The next seven days are supposed to be high 90's-100! I'll definitely be joining my son in the inflatable pool this week! I may scrap tomorrow while he's at summer school or I may nap. His sleep has been really off.

Wow, I love coming to this thread and seeing that it's been flying! kitbop, you must have posted about your Emerg. experience before the Sat crop but I didn't see it. I have been worrying about you since you told me about it Sat. I'm glad you haven't had any recurrence. Let's keep it that way. I'm glad you bought the new washer. You would probably be into a repair job at least half of a new one, with no guarantees that it would work more than a year or two. They just don't make them like they used to. Your Canada Day sounds relaxing. grammadee, I'm glad you got in on some of the Canada Day festivities and that you had family around. I wish I had housecleaners coming in to work on my house. I am doing some deep reorganizing and it's wearing me out. We had a quiet weekend. We went OUT to dinner for the first time since the pandemic and saw the movie, Top Gun:Maverick, also a first since the pandemic. cycworker, I am so sorry that you are worrying about losing a friend. I agree with the Pokeys that you were not in the wrong. You have apologized. It's in her court now. She was not "active listening" or she would have stopped bringing it up. Hugs to you! You are in my prayers for peace. I'm glad you had a good visit with your friend. Linda, I am loving the pages you have posted. I am so glad to know that I can pin them from where you are posting. Your week alone sounds delightful...sleeping in, vacuuming whenever you want, doing chores at your leisure and scrapping, scrapping, scrapping. Ahhh. refugeepea, I love your page. Are the cobwebs and lights die cut? That photo is priceless. You did a great job scraplifting the other page. We would love it if you post your pages here but you can post them in the big Sharing thread too. I don't think we saw the Western park when we were there, we did find the Fairgrounds. We want to make another trip up soon. I have a dear friend and roommate up your way and we want to go visit her. When we do, we will stop at the little drive-in for lunch and drive around to see the painted buildings again. We ate a lot of fries at that drive-in years ago on our trips to and from college. kellyr21, will you have another concert at the park this week? I'm glad to know you are getting crafty. Did you guys do anything fun for the 4th? You asked what I studied in college. My degree is in Elementary Ed. I had enough credits to minor in Spanish, but I have forgotten so much that I'm not fluent at all! I understand a lot more than I can speak. joyfulnana, it was fun to see you at the Sat. crop. How is your mother doing? I hope Rudy had a good time doing July 4th events. I miss having little ones around who enjoy those things. Alex's sisters were home for the long weekend, so they just did their own thing. We didn't have to fix dinner or anything for a crowd. Very relaxing. I have finished 4 pages and my Sheetload cards but haven't taken photos yet. I need to order photos of Cousin Camp and a bunch more, but just haven't sat down to do it yet. Maybe before the weekend. Today I took the car in for an oil change, tire rotation, and made a trip to the donation center to deliver stuff. I have more that I can donate when I grocery shop tomorrow.

Here are my Sheetload Cards for July. I need generic cards that can be customized as I need them. I made a whole bunch of "sentiment flags" that I will keep in the bag with the cards. They can also work as just a note card without a sentiment. When I need a card quickly (or my girls do), I love having whatever I need on hand and ready to go. Sheetload of Cards July 2022

Happy Wednesday! Waving hi to you all! Well, we just got back home Monday afternoon after four nights at the hotel. We had to have fumigation done again and I hope all is well for now. It has been so overwhelming moving in and out of our home. SHM! So taking my time this week to rest and recover while doing a little here and there to put things back in order. So frustrating! Thank God the park concert is tonight! We can use a fun outing this week. On a brighter side, I got to Joann's on Monday and got some HS "Sunshine Chaser" pp, stamp set and sticker book. Love how bright and happy this collection is. Also, I worked on a traveler's journal page yesterday. This is my first one in a long time. It felt so good to get back into it. I will post some pictures. nylene- We didn't do much after we got home on the 4th but watch old adventure movies and rest. Wow, I didn't know you were an education major with a Spanish minor. So cool you can understand some Spanish when you hear it. I took Spanish in school, too. Last year, I took an online tutorial on Lingo. I would like to continue to learn the language for time to time. Your cards are so pretty! You are a master cardmaker, Nylene! joyfulnana- Hope you are staying cool!

Happy Thursday, Pokeys! How are you all doing? Haven't heard from you in awhile, gramma. Were you able to join the virtual crop over the weekend? We won't have anyone here this weekend, so maybe I will be able to set up a Sunday morning one. kitbop, how are you feeling? No more health scares? Have you finished repainting at home? Any lake adventures planned? kellyr21, that is too bad about the upheavals in your life. Hoping that this time they managed to fix the problem. Spending a few days in a hotel didn't sound too bad until I realized you had to pack up everything at home first, and then prob stay in a hotel that was covered by insurance rather than one you would choose for yourself for a vacation. How was the concert? Love your cards, nylene, and looking forward to seeing your pages--the ones you have already done and the future ones with Cousin Camp pic's. I have been doing a bit of scrapping here while the garden has been too wet to weed. Shared a two pager yesterday and have another two pager almost ready to share today. I also finished a single page I put together as a sample for this Saturday's sketch. Will share that one tomorrow night. Glad you figured the Gallery out, refugeepea. Hope you continue to share with us here, there, in the Sharing Thread, wherever! Okay, enough chit chat. I need to go out and go on weed duty again. The sun is shining now, but supposed to rain again tonight.

Happy Thursday everyone! This week has gone by too quickly and I haven't done nearly as much as I wanted to Good luck with the weeding grammadee - I need to do some yardwork myself but our heat index today through Saturday is supposed to be 105-110 (40.5 - 43+) so I'm staying INside as much as I can. kellyr21 - I hope you're all done with upheaval - what a pain. nylene - gorgeous cards refugeepea - frozen cherries sound lovely Today I have some housework and around the house projects to focus on. Hoping to scrap this evening - I do have two layouts I need to share still.

I know I've been MIA. Just really busy at work and DH is on another downward slide. That and I've had zero interest is scrapping. I'm not sure why, but it will come back.
I was able to hop on the Sunday afternoon crop for a bit but we had tickets to see "Carousel". So far this spring we've also been to "Tootsie" and "Wicked". Did I see something about a crop sometime this weekend?

Happy Thursday! We had a great time at the concert last night. It was military night and a Marine band performed. They usually do all instrumental traditional patriotic songs with male musicians. But this year they had a jazzy style band with singing. They even had a lady lead singer that was so good. Here is my pocket album I made from Heidi Swapp's video "Surprise Inside." I still have to figure out what pictures to use but this is how far I have gotten. I will share more pictures when I get it all done. But all these pieces fit inside each other. SO fun! Pocket Album by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr I started working on new Traveler's Journal pages this week and I want to do a few art journal pages, too. I miss my journaling! justjac journal pages are so cool and I wanted to get back into it. Waving hi to everyone and hope you are all having a nice day!

Glad you enjoyed the concert. No scrapping yet today - hopefully tonight. Cleaned and organised in the garage, vacuumed DD's room (which involved first FINDing the carpet), and am working on alphabetising the fiction books in the guestroom/library - I've gotten through C...

Hi Pokeys! Glad to see everyone around. nylene - tfs your cards - I have the perfect stamp/die that could be the centre of the square and may give those a try with some scraps. So many options! kellyr21 - I'm sorry you've had to "move out move in" again. That must be SO tiresome. I love the HS Sun Chaser too! I purchased the 6x8 pad, but am tempted to get some of the 12x12 as well...however, I haven't actually created anything with it yet, so maybe I should restrain myself gramma - I hope you feel better and Ken feels better and you all round feel like life is liking you again! It was nice to have you pop in because we were talking about you and worried. grammadee - no more "spells" here. I've been to the gym since and feel OK. Got my knee injected with orthovisc yesterday by one of our orthopedic surgeons and that seems to already be helping. The knees are no longer young and tell me to cut back a bit. I tend to not listen! If you open a crop Sunday I'd love to join in. However, I won't be home until about 1:00 EST so I might be late. Next week, DH and I are trying to figure out some plans as I'm off work - we'd love to drive East, but we only have 6 days, and it's 18 hours to Cape Breton or Halifax so we don't want to do it in a single day. The following week we have camping booked on Lake Huron.

no more "spells" here. I've been to the gym since and feel OK. Got my knee injected with orthovisc yesterday by one of our orthopedic surgeons I've been having knee issues. My main issue is one of the bones in my knee has worn away and there's some arthritis. I googled it and it seems orthovisc is mainly for arthritis? I've been getting steroid injections, is that something different or the same? Anyway, they are not working after a couple of months lately. Just trying to figure out how to delay surgery because he said I was too young to have this problem. He did send a request for a new MRI. The type of pain has been different lately. Hard to explain, but I did get a little whiny and frustrated at the appointment. I need to schedule it tomorrow. I forgot today.

Wow this thread is moving fast! Ahahaha refugeepea I LOVE that fright night page! Stranger Things watcher here lol. kellyr21 all that moving in and out sounds awful, I'm sorry you are dealing with something like that. Your embroidery turned out beautifully! And that TN, I love it! I looked at those kits too. I used to embroidery when I around 11 or 12, which I had completely forgotten about. Needlework in the evening sounds wonderful, I've kind of been missing knitting too. I like having something to keep my hands busy while I watch TV. I'm not sure Abby will allow for any of that "nonsense" though LOL. nylene your cards are always so pretty! It was good to see you Saturday night! Mom is feeling better, lots better really. She had a bad day or so when she was really crabby though lol. She got to go to the salon and get her hair cut and styled today and that made her feel better too. kitbop sorry about your troubles with the dryer. But that's good you were able to get it replaced so quickly. And good to no "spells" too! gramma I'm glad to see you checking in, I was planning to ask after you tonight. It was good to see you Sunday How was Carousel? grammadee as far as I know right now, I'm free Sunday to crop. Linda, boy I know that feeling of not getting to everything you wanted to do. When I know I'll have extra time off, I plan sooooo many things I'm going to get done. I don't usually get half done lol. And I sure never get close to the amount of scrapping I tell myself I'm going to do either lol. Are there quite a few books to sort? I hope you've enjoyed the time. I was telling them in the crop Sunday that Abby has been demanding to go for "walks" outside in her harness. She will sit at the front door meowing to go out lol. I'm definitely going to have to do a page about that. My 4th was quiet, I watched some fireworks from the deck. I thought I would have Rudy this weekend, but the schedule got changed. And that was when I realized I haven't had Rudy here for a sleepover in over a month! And still, I squeal inside a little every time I find out I'm having another calm, quiet weekend. It's already almost the weekend!

kitbop - glad for no more spells. Have fun planning the trip -and then ON the trip refugeepea - I'm sorry for your knee issues. I hope the MRI is helpful joyfulnana - Abby is adorable - I love that she likes going outside on a harness. Yes- rather a lot of books I'm afraid and that's after downsizing significantly before our move and donating or passing along almost all of the books as I read them in the past couple of years. Four 5-shelf bookcases of fiction (and more of non-fiction in the other guest room plus A. has four bookcases of her books and there a couple of shelves of kids books I'm saving....). All I'm working on right now is the fiction...I've done A-R so far and will tackle the rest tomorrow. I have found a couple of duplicates I'll pass along to the older kids or donate if they don't want them. Of course I'm pretty sure DH will be bringing me books from them on his return.

It's already almost the weekend! joyfulnana , this made me laugh! I have the same feelings after having Alex over a lot. LOL. I'm glad I'm the grandma, not the mama. Your Abby is such a pretty cat. I love that she enjoys going walking in her harness. I'm not sure I have ever seen a kitty in a harness. You are a great cat mama. I'm glad your mom is doing better. gramma , I am sorry to hear that Ken is not doing well. Hugs to you both. I was beginning to worry about you but hoped you were involved in getting this Quarter's spreadsheet done. Thanks for dropping in. I loaded my CB09 blade in my Silhouette and it cuts great. I have been so afraid I'd struggle with it. Thanks for all your assistant and encouragement. kitbop , glad you are still feeling well and that your appliance woes have ended. kellyr21 , you don't know how excited I am about your crafting again. I will go to the gallery to get a good look at your work. I'm sorry about the moving in and out. I hope you are well-settled now. refugeepea , I am so sorry about your knee. I have great empathy. I have been nursing mine along for about 4 years, but I have fears that at least I can walk and who knows how it will be after surgery. Maybe I'm just a bit of a chicken! I hope the shots will help you. Linda , I worked on a couple of layouts last night. I have loved your grid designs and have lots of photos so decided to follow your example. Mine got way too busy, but they are finished. I will try it again when I have lots of photos. I just need to quit adding things! Thanks for sharing your work! cycworker , your shaved ice and strawberry shortcake adventure sound delicious. grammadee , I don't know how you keep up with everything here on the site and still find time to scrap and weed. You are truly the energizer bunny. Thanks for getting the Quarter all set up again. You make this such a fun site. I'm waiting for my bugman to come. He was scheduled yesterday but somehow I was left off the schedule and no one came. I then need to take DH in to get his stitches removed from some work they did on cancers on his face. I'm hoping for a quiet weekend.

Got my car insurance & renter's insurance done today. Luckily a friend told me in advance that Interac is down across Canada; I was able to check & ensure I had enough room on credit card for both bills. I did, thankfully. Was out the door at 8:15 & home before 10. Was lovely. Going to go lie down & read for an hour or so. Eyes need a rest. I have really got to get off my butt & get new glasses. They're good for driving/distance, not so much for reading/close anymore. It's time for bifocals. Or progressives. Whatever they're called. LOL. Anyone want to crop tomorrow? I think kitbop sent me the info so I can host. I'm free literally all day, I think. And company in the morning would be lovely as I suspect I won't finish all my pricing today. I need to get it done in the morning as my cousin is going to come & help me load the stuff in my trunk. Sale is Sunday. I had planned to share my space with a friend but she had to go to Calgary for a family funeral.

I tried to start a Google Meet last week and couldn't get it to work. I'm pretty computer challenged. I will watch for a thread and try to join tomorrow. What kind of sale are you prepping for? Do you have to be there for the garage sale or will you just supply items? I'm glad you got all your tasks finished for today.

I actually prefer that because it means we can drop our prices if we want to. And I want my stuff GONE, so I am totally willing to drop prices to achieve that, if necessary. Definitely enjoy bartering, especially when I am not in it to make money. I just want the space, both mentally & physically. Prior to Covid, they did the selling for us; now we are doing our own selling & we just get cash. In the pre-Covid days we got a store credit. I certainly wouldn't mind a credit, but it's not something I really need at the moment.

Well dang I was going to pop into the crop for awhile, but sounds like we have screwed up with all the @grammas maybe? I hope we can find some sort of solution, I'm not ready to give up these crops at all. Linda that's a whole lot of books! I love it that your family are readers. I always hoped my kids would love to read the way I do, but alas, comic books just aren't the same to me lol. I stopped buying fiction since I don't tend to read those more than once. I borrow them from the library now. And mostly buy digital books so no one has any idea just how many I have now lol. kitbop I forget that what this thread is for too lol. I LOVE that lo and that story! OMG hilarious! lol. I spent yesterday buying a cricut joy I saw it for a very good price and like the idea of the much smaller footprint. Now I have to have them help transfer my cartridges. I had a cricut account about 10 years and 4 email addresses ago. They couldn't find a record of me, so they will manually add the cartridges I have. I think? Anyway I spent lots of time setting that up and playing around with it. Then a lazy evening on the couch with Abby lol. Today I got a last minute invite to a bday party for one of DS2's housemates. Friends and family are invited so I'm going to pop in for a little while and see DS2 and meet some of the people he's in recovery with. Which he was voted house president today. Which is exciting for him. He's doing so well and I'm so proud of him. I also talked to mom yesterday and wow she has not sounded so good in MONTHS. She feels great, she isn't foggy headed. It was getting really hard to hold a conversation with her because she was so rambling and would lose her thought, or not follow along with mine. She sounds so good and I'm not worried one bit about her living alone, as long as she stays on top of things, which my brother and sister are going to be seeing to. So it feels like my quiet weekend ended up not so quiet lol. Best laid plans and all.

sorry about the crop joyfulnana - my chores got off to a late start so I'm still tackling them - but my kids called right after DH and DD left for the drive home and we chatted for ages. I inherited a bunch of books from my mum - and that's AFTER we donated 1000s to her public library - they had several people come out and fill their SUVs and mini vans with boxes of books and it took several times to get them all gone. But as far as buying books - I typically pick them up at the local thrift stores or yardsales for a quarter or 50cents each so even if I read them only once - then it's still worthwhile to me. And then I either pass them along or donate them back. I have bought several used books from Thriftbooks and Amazon this year - I'm doing a book challenge which has 25 specific books on it this year (and the older kids are also - it's on a reading board we're all on) and I've had to pick up some of those - but then I send them to the kids so... All of my kids are readers thankfully - at one point or another each of them broke a school record for Accelerated Reader points (the girls in elementary school, my son in 8th grade). So glad that your mum is doing better joyfulnana and yay for a new Cricut Joy! I hung some pictures in the craftroom and bedroom today and need to sweep and mop - cleaned the bathrooms already. Then hopefully some scrappy time - DH and DD got a later than planned start this morning and didn't leave until 10 or so so I don't expect them until past 8 at the earliest. Hoping there will be less traffic today that when they went up and the 10hr drive took 14hr+ cycworker - good luck with the sale - I hope you sell out quickly. Hi everyone else!

Well I managed to interrupt several Pokeys in their Sunday plans, and still not to get MEET to work. Sorry. It was good to chat with you gramma, and thanks for doing the host thing, but by the time I saw your post, you had prob already got tired of waiting for me. Had a nice chat with justjac while she waited for the Mall to open, and my ears stopped steaming--I think... Sorry we missed you joyfulnana. Have fun playing with your joyful Cricut JOY! I am glad your mom is sounding so much better. Those uti's in older people can really play havoc with everything. Glad someone was able to find out what the problem was and remedy it. Will check out your two week LO when I am in Flickr later, kitbop. Need to get it +'d so I can read the story. This morning I managed to put together a two pager for your Third Quarter Throwdown, kitbop. Will share in a bit. I want to do a bd card now for dd, using a cutfile gramma sent me awhile ago. I am finding such interesting things now that I am going through all the little stuff that has been--literally--stuffed into strange places on my scrap counter. Hardly knew how to scrap today with so much space around me. Don't spit out your drink, justjac: I know it won't be long until it is an absolute mess again. I have alot of toys, too, but instead of the Toys R Us motto, I think mine is "MEss is ME"! Dh has gone to cut hay, so I have the rest of the day to myself, but will re-evaluate my creativity and energy after I finish the card. TTYL. And again, sorry for being such a pain this morning.

I spent yesterday buying a cricut joy I saw it for a very good price and like the idea of the much smaller footprint. Now I have to have them help transfer my cartridges. Fun! I'm glad your son is doing okay too.
I went to my annual family reunion, but just for the day yesterday. Each year, a different sibling or my mom is in charge. She decided to do a redneck theme and I made tags for her prizes. Did I take a single photo? NO. Ugh. My son was a bit crazy up there. He kept attacking a container of chocolate chip cookies. He kept wanting to swing, but was NOT being good about holding on. I was very uptight because of his lack of sleep the night before. Which can lead to a seizure. Then he wanted to sit on a set of stairs and slowly lean his body forward and then back. He has zero sense of danger. Then there were the great nieces and nephews who he did not pay attention to, so I was afraid they were going to get plowed over. We stayed three hours and I was exhausted.
I am very much looking forward to his two days of summer school this week!
This week, I need to call the doctor. It's looking like my son is going to need to see a nutritionist soon because he cannot gain weight, he's 13, and growing. On Tuesday, we are going to Shriners and we might be able to bring his wheelchair/stroller home!! My niece is getting married on my daughter's birthday Friday. My sister is surprising her with her own cake at the luncheon or reception. Even more sweet my daughter and grandfather (he's deceased) share the same birthday.
