We've seen examples of this mentality here on this board over the past several years. What price personal responsibility, hm?

I’m curious as to why conservatives feel the need to blame others for the policies they fight to pass. If they were good policies, wouldn’t they want to take credit for them instead of blaming the left for “making them” do it? |

I'm starting to think more and more that these people are just emotionally stunted narcissists. I live with one so maybe I'm just biased. But the blame shifting, deflecting, projection, lack of awareness, overinflated sense of ego, bullying, compassionless, gaslighting and overall self centeredness are just a few common denominators that come to mind.
Add in that Trump was the biggest and best of all those listed along with a grandiose self of sense who believes he can do wrong and his minions felt empowered by his personality. Oh and victimhood is another huge one that some narcissists have. So you have all that mixed in with hatred (which I believe is self hate at its core) and there you have the cult followers and GOP.

As we can attest, don't make men (Trump, Kavanaugh, Trust Fund Tucker) upset, they get big mad and won't be happy until the earth is scorched. The women who go along with that train of thought will soon regret they believed they were protected for going along to get along.
Also, both sides indeed. I think not. Do I feel like burning everything down because the GOP are monsters? Yes. Do I burn everything down? No. Because I'm not a control freak MAGA monster.

Those who are otherwise and have this at their disposal will. Isn't that a large part of the purported reason that T-rump ran, after feeling humiliated by a silly joke at a dinner? He then went on to undo as many of Obama's actions as possible, it seems. Infantile people shouldn't have access to power. Voters need to choose better bases for their decisions, IMO. |

We've seen some conservative peas here claim that meanie liberals "made them" vote for Trump, even though they claim not to like him. We now see conservatives on Twitter claiming that liberals made the SC overturn Roe, that Obama made Trump run for president, etc., etc. What you posted in reply has no relation to what I asked, either on the board or out in the wide world. I'm talking about this abuser's mantra of "I know it's awful, but you made me do it." I don't really think it's that hard to understand. Well, in relation to your OP There ARE catalysts to an event. I don't agree with using it as a reason to not take responsibility for your actions. We are all responsible for our own actions. There were also some left news sources and entertainers that were pushing the idea that Obama and Seth Myers hurt Trumps feelings and that's why the thin-skinned, orange man ran for president. |

He was right in that the focus should stay on the stunt McConnell pulled with trump’s third pick, especially after he denied President Obama his right to fill a vacancy on the Supreme Court by not scheduling any hearings for Garland when President Obama had almost a year left in his term. What McConnell did was steal two Supreme Court picks from a current president and a future president by changing the the norm for his political gain. And I doubt very much people were asking this reporter if President Biden was going to stack the court. But here’s a question. Do you think McConnell was right to deny President Obama’s pick any hearings with almost a year left in his term while pushing through trump’s pick with just weeks before the presidential election was to take place? |
