He’s stated before that he won’t discuss it because it will become a distraction. And it would not even be an issue except for the Republicans trying to ram through a nomination while an election is underway, despite setting a precedent 4 years ago and refusing to hold hearings 10 months before an election. The hypocrisy of the Republicans is unbelievable.
How about Trump refusing to negotiate on the stimulus until after the election?

They are evil, horrible, hate-filled people who should live in real people's shoes one day. They are rush-pushing a rabid (I want to say right-wing, but she makes right-wingers look left-wing) terrible choice for SC when they, themselves have said that they would never do that.
I could go on for PAGES about the evils that this Republican Senate has done, with all of its members complicit. I think we all could. I hate responding to a troll, but I am SO DAMN MAD that you goddamn fuckers think that there is one thing - ONE THING - that you have done for this country other than to bring it completely to its knees, I feel forced to reply.

I think what he does depends on whether the hypocrites in the Senate confirm the current nominee when they wouldn't even give Obama's nominee a hearing. They had nearly 8 months to consider Obama's pick and claimed it was 'too close to the next election.'
He's saying that he isn't going to make the election all about what he may or may not regarding the court. He doesn't want the conversation to be entirely about the court pick when he actually has plans on taxes, healthcare and managing the pandemic. His opponent has no plans at all for anything past November 3 except to try to use the presidency to shield himself from his creditors when his $400 million in outstanding debt comes due.

If, as I expect, Republicans confirm Barrett before the election, I am fine with expanding the SC. I love how Republicans pull underhanded stunts like not having hearings on a sitting President’s SC pick, but then squawk at the thought that Democrats might exercise power if they win. And you would probably get away with it(you usually do) if your President wasn’t an absolute lunatic who has completely mishandled a raging pandemic. |
