People were describing the types of bread they use on certain sandwiches and white bread was mentioned and I got to wondering.

Never Wonder-type white bread, but a couple times a year I get a craving for Orowheat Country Buttermilk bread, makes a great grilled cheese.

I am gluten-free and GF bread is largely gross, so I really don't eat bread at all anymore. But I haven't had Wonder bread since I was a kid. I remember my babysitter would buy it and I thought it was gross. I could smush it up into doughy balls and that just didn't seem right, even as a child.

I don’t know what wonderbread is but assuming it’s stuff that has zero texture, goodness, fibre, flavour etc then no. Why bother 🤷🏻♀️

I voted "rarely" since I do have it occasionally when eating out/getting takeout (sub/cheesesteak/burger buns, french toast, etc.), but I don't buy it for sandwich bread. I'll have Italian bread or country white when I'm visiting my dad's house, as that is pretty much all he buys (and tomato sandwiches must be on country white, LOL).

We don’t really eat sandwiches often, it’s just not a thing for us.
But on the occasion that we do, it’s Mrs. Bairds white bread. Nothing else will do.

We buy “country white” style of the options by the grocery store brand for DHs sandwiches. But plain, ol basic white bread… only one in a blue moon when I am craving an old school Best Foods mayo on one-side, French’s mustard on the other, with two slices of Oscar Meyer bologna in the middle. Since I realized how much gluten affects my psoriasis, I try to limit my bread. So it is very, very rare at this point. But I’ve been thinking about it with the cost of everything. Another one who wishes GF bread tasted better because I love sandwiches.

Never Wonder-type white bread, but a couple times a year I get a craving for Orowheat Country Buttermilk bread, makes a great grilled cheese. Our household bread is orowheat buttermilk. It’s white bread but definitely not wonderbtead. It takes about 10 days for my family of four to eat the loaf, so we don’t eat it daily.

I'm a never, DH loves the stuff though so .... that roll it up into a ball? he sees that as a positive trait.
I like granary bread if I'm buying at a store - or the Italian/Cuban loaves from the store bakery. Otherwise I usually home bake my bread (except for DH's sandwich bread...)

I eat sourdough, which I don't think is what you mean. I grew up on white bread sandwiches and I really don't ever want to eat one again.

I never eat white bread and we didn’t when I was a kid. I’m a rare bread eater because of carbs, but if I do it’s rye or multigrain at home and if a restaurant has good house bread, I’ll eat that.

Yes I do, often. I love the white bread from the local bakery. It's so soft and fluffy and delicious! Probably what gar would call "white pappy cottonwool" hahaha!! I also love seeded breads. Whether I eat plain white or seeded bread depends on the filling. Oh, and it also depends on whether I'm making a sandwich or toast. Peanut butter sandwich = white bread. Peanut butter toast = grainy bread. Peanut butter crumpet = the best.

Not really. I don’t really eat sandwiches very often. I do like a good hearty white for the BLTs I eat in Aug/Sept during local tomato and corn season.
The rest of my family loves white bread - the Canadian white style. I buy a ton of it, but I’m not a fan.

It was a bit white with some wheat. It came in a tea stained (like) plastic with I think orange on it. I haven't seen it in years. When we traveled from Omaha to Minnesota every summer, we'd eat this bread with thick ham slices and mustard on it. We'd pull over near a corn field and chomp on these. Once in a while I'll get white bread to go with leftover ham at Easter just to have that summer travel feeling.

I eat Grandma Sycamore’s, which is a regional white bread, but not like Wonder. It’s hard to describe if you’ve never had it, but it’s soft (but not fluffy) and also chewy.

Very rarely.
White bread makes me get very bloated, so I stopped buying it years ago.
I have no will power when a restaurant bread basket is sitting right there on the table, so I allow myself to have one only, no more than that.

I'm not much of a sandwich person anymore. I usually buy the cheaper stuff because I feel like we are wasting money buying better brands. It usually goes bad before it's used up. I like our grocery store's white bread. It's not Wonder bread, just a basic white bread.

I’m gluten free so soft, white bread is seldom an option however on the rare occasions I find a good loaf the first thing I make is a pb&j, very nostalgic and delicious! Most GF bread needs to be toasted so if I have a sandwich it’s a BLT or grilled cheese and I like a multigrain for those.

I pretty much only like white bread as grilled cheese these days. Since I eat those once or twice a year, if that, we rarely ever buy it. DH prefers whole wheat, multi grain or some other non white bread for sandwiches. I just go with it because I don't eat it enough to justify buying two different breads.

The only time we have white bread in the house is if it’s a baguette or roll. Our everyday bread is the Dave’s Killer Good Seed. If the oldest is home, I’ll get half a loaf of sourdough for her as it’s the only bread miss picky will eat.
I grew up wishing for wonder bread. My mom baked our bread for years, all different kinds, and I didn’t appreciate it. I wanted wonder bread in my lunch box like everyone else had! I also wanted Oreos instead of homemade cookies. 🙄

Wonder bread? Ew, no. I do like Kings Hawaiian buns though or my own homemade Amish white bread which is similar to Hawaiian buns. So, so good. Or the bakery Country bread loaves from Costco.
Growing up my mom switched us to whole wheat bread and that’s mostly what we eat still. Even my kid will pick whole wheat over white bread, unless it’s homemade.
