I work in a grocery store in Pittsburgh and can't think of any noticeable shortages at this time.

Oh for awhile it was cherries. I forgot about that. But now they are in stores. And their sale prices are last years non sale prices.

Trader Joe's 72% dark chocolate sold in a 3-pack. Luckily I buy them every time I'm in the store so I still have 5 packs in the pantry.
Also, no one seems to have Flaxseed Oil capsules. For at least a month.

It seems that tissues and toilet paper are not only rationed but today were completely out of stock. I really thought those days were over!

Only ice cream - but I think that’s more related to the heatwave we’re suffering than any supply issues! I haven’t been cooking at all recently due to preparing to move so I am not going up and down the aisles like usual, but, yesterday I decided I needed ice cream. Needed it! I discovered that several flavors were sold out. I just wanted some Rocky Road, which I think is a pretty normal type to stock, and they didn’t have any in any of the various brands. Then I looked for chocolate peanut butter. That one is usually harder to find and was sold out also. Plain chocolate? Nope. They only had something called Moosetracks that looked to have a chocolate base. Now instead of accepting that this was a sign from the universe that I should not be buying ice cream at all, I decided to break away from my chocolate requirement and I bought something called Mountain Huckleberry.

As my DD sadly said to her twins yesterday, we can't have good peanut butter anymore. She's a Jif girl, but I think it's causing shortages across PB lines.

Mine has been dog food. We feed our dogs "old man dog food" - a specific formula for older dogs and it's been hit or miss. I have had to order from Target's app and pick it up at which ever store has it closest to us. I used to pick it up at the grocery store or when I was already at Target - it was already on the shelf, now it's a deal to locate it.

Haven't seen Dijon mustard in France since April.
April.
Not one pot. I tried a German mustard. It was disgusting (sorry, German Peas). At this stage, there's not a single pot of mustard left here. Nothing.

Milk. It's hit or miss here. I buy whatever I can get. Last week there was none at all. Yes, Fairlife milk seems especially hard to find. Whipping cream has been another thing scarce around here. With my Ninja Creami addiction I need to either stock up on it or coconut milk. I get heavy cream in half gallon cartons at Costco. I don’t have a problem getting so much at once because it lasts for such a long time, and after it’s made into ice cream and in the freezer it will keep for weeks or even months if it’s stored right. That is, if it even lasts that long!

I wonder if lot of the shortages are regional. I don’t have problems finding what we eat. The supply may be low, but it is generally in stock. We buy Fairlife milk and it is always in stock. I think you are on to something. When we've had these discussions in the past I noticed that I could usually get whatever seemed to be out of stock in other parts of the U.S. They only had something called Moosetracks that looked to have a chocolate base. You missed out by not getting the Moose Tracks! It's delicious! <<< tongue out for licking ice cream *nods* If you like Rocky Road, I think you'd like Moosetracks. Haven't seen Dijon mustard in France since April. April. Not one pot. I tried a German mustard. It was disgusting (sorry, German Peas). At this stage, there's not a single pot of mustard left here. Nothing. The mind boggles! I'd be trying to get mustard seed or powder and making attempts at making it myself!

Thankfully we dodged that bullet due to my DH’s inattentiveness. Many months ago, I had literally just bought a two pack of the big jars at Costco. DH stopped at the business Costco for something else that is only sold at that store not long after that and bought a two pack of the even BIGGER restaurant sized jars. I think it’s pretty safe to say we won’t need peanut butter for easily the rest of the year if not longer. I noticed at Target yesterday that not only was the peanut butter section wiped out but the jelly section looked pretty thin too. We’ve been getting grape jelly for the orioles at our lake cabin and it looks like I’ll have to go to business Costco for that too.

The 2021 French and Canadian harvests were bad. Things are about to get worse with Russia no longer delivering mustard seed either. It's just the French noticing for now because the consumption over here is so high. You can still find some Dijon mustard in neighbouring European countries but their stocks are bound to run out as well eventually. I'm not joking. The rest of the world will suffer the mustard seed shortage fate later down the line. The global prices are about to climb significantly for this commodity. We're crossing our fingers the upcoming autumn harvest in France and Canada will be ok. Until then, pas de moutarde.

Nothing. Condiments in general, and spices too have been much thinner selections than what we’ve been used to, especially in the cheaper store brands. For example, I wanted to get some Heinz 57 steak sauce and in the past Target would normally have both the name brand in a couple different size bottles and their Market Pantry store brand which costs a bit less. This last time they had none of the store brand labeled condiments at all and only one size of the Heinz brand which I almost didn’t see because it was way up on the top shelf. The spices section at Target has been completely wiped out for weeks. I had to buy a huge container of garlic powder at Costco which will probably go dead long before we use it all.

I liked your post, not because I like that there is a shortage, but to thank you for warning us. I will get some dijon mustard today- I prefer it much more than other kinds.

Yes, Fairlife milk seems especially hard to find. While the supply has gotten better recently, it's been difficult to find Fairlife for the past few months. but in general, stock is just lower across the board in most of the grocery stores. This is what I am noticing. The shelves are just not as full as they used to be and the shortages seem to be ever changing. Peanut Butter. All brands. I think some of it probably is related to the Jif recall recently. With that not available, people started buying the other brands. I did find some Jif last week at a Kroger near my house and bought a few jars, as our hurricane stock of peanut butter was depleted. But other than that store, I have not seen any in weeks. English muffins seems to hit or miss lately, even at the store bakery that has fresh ones.

Fairlife has definitely been hard to find for awhile, but it has been flat out out of stock in my grocery stores (at least when I check ) for the past two weeks. Non of the different fatness have been available, only a periodic bottle of the chocolate. I think because it was so hard to find and it lasts so long that when people do see it they clear the shelves.

Looks like Amazon actually has it in stock at the moment but I’ve got two bags stockpiled now, so… (It’s the only decent quality food my dogs will eat without having to be bribed with human food on top.)

I'm having trouble find Gulden's Spicy Brown Mustard. None of the big chain grocery stores (and Target) carry it anymore. A smaller local chain grocery store carries it, but they are sold out.

Zucchini is difficult to find right now. I love zucchini dishes in the summer, so I am really missing it! If I had known it would be in short supply, I would have planted some.

Having issues getting a prescription food for our cats. Only one needs it. But, feeding different foods is impossible.
And, Jif Natural peanut butter. It is a staple for me. My normal breakfast. Not a fan of the store brand natural pb. So far, I have worn the oil twice. And, it is too runny to eat with only a spoon.

I have had a hard time finding sugar free French vanilla creamer. ALDIs occasionally has it. I bought three the last time, but that was four weeks ago.
Chicken wings also seem to be a problem.a restaurant that had a dollar a wing special cancelled it because of shortages. They are charging more and they were scrawny little things.
Also at ALDIs I see empty cereal shelves frequently.
