I just want to go on record as saying that I'm so DAMN proud of Kansas today. The "Value Them Both" Catholic sponsored liars even tossed out a lying mass text the night before the vote and they still lost. I truly hope this is a good sign for November. |

Another gem from Herchel Walker.. Not sure this has already been posted . As my great grandmother was fond of saying, Egads! Although I am honestly not surprised. I was shocked recently to discover that my ultra conservative, Trump supporting gay brother also thinks that gay marriage should be left up to each state. He does NOT believe there should be a federal mandate allowing it. I was so shocked I didn't even know what to say to him. He is in a 30 plus year relationship, but never married his partner. I love them both dearly, but his political views often leave me speechless. He is a true advocate of "states rights." He doesn't think there is much that should be mandated federally, and he will never change that opinion. He thinks if you live in a state that doesn't give you the rights you want, then you should just MOVE. |

So here we have a Republican who did the right thing lose his re-election bid to a trump backed candidate because the voters suck at their job of voting and to make it worse the Democrats in the district spent money supporting the trump guy.
So what happens if the trump guy wins Democrats? Then what?
What we will have is another crazy Republican in Congress compliments of voters who suck at their job voting and Democrats who thought it would be a good idea to meddle. In the wrong way.

Best thing I've read all day: Today, the Senate passed the PACT Act in exactly the same form it had last week, when Republicans claimed they could no longer support the bill they had previously passed because Democrats had snuck a “slush fund” into a bill providing medical care for veterans exposed to burn pits in Iraq and Afghanistan. In fact, the bill was unchanged, and Republicans’ refusal to repass the bill from the House seemed an act of spite after Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) announced an agreement on a bill to lower the cost of certain prescription drugs, invest in measures to combat climate change, raise taxes on corporations and the very wealthy, and reduce the deficit. Since their vote to kill the measure, the outcry around the country, led by veterans and veterans’ advocate Jon Stewart, has been extraordinary. The vote on the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act of 2022 tonight was 86 to 11 as Republicans scrambled to fix their mistake. |

Any voter who votes for any Republican candidate who is either endorsed by trump or who spouts the BIG LIE are voting against this country. It’s that simple. And it is that simple because NO ONE IS FORCING THEM TO VOTE A CERTAIN WAY. THEY CHOOSE TO VOTE THAT WAY.
The voters in Meijer’s district had two choices. Vote for a somewhat normal Republican or a trump endorsed wacko Republican. And they chose the trump endorsed wacko Republican. Once again they chose to elect the wacko, no one forced them.
Silly me I have a problem with voters voting against the country. And so yes they suck at their job of voting in my world.
As far as the Democrats go, they should keep their noses out of the Republican primaries and concentrate on their own election.

If there is one thing I can boil my hatred of Trump down to one thing, it is this: That he, with no evidence whatsoever, has made people question the integrity of our election process. Boiling that down would be a Herculean effort, but I agree that this is hugely damaging to our democracy. I just have trouble choosing between those damaging things, & the things that might make our planet unfit for human habitation, rendering election concerns moot. So hard to choose between all the things.... |
