I just saw this. So these Republican AG’s are arguing for dirty air for the American People to breathe. From Axois link“ 17 GOP attorneys general sue EPA over California vehicle emission standards”Seventeen Republican attorneys general filed a lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Friday for letting California set its own vehicle emission standards. Driving the news: The suit alleges that EPA Administrator Michael Regan violated the Constitution's doctrine of equal sovereignty by giving California an exemption from the Clean Air Act and allowing the state to impose emissions limits that are stricter than the nationwide standard. The attorneys general argue that doing so allows California to impose its stringent limits on all new vehicles and amounts to favoritism.
The big picture: The exemption was previously granted to California in 2013. Regan restored it this March after the Trump administration revoked it in 2019. Regan said in the announcement that restoring the exemption "reinstates an approach that for years has helped advance clean technologies and cut air pollution for people not just in California, but for the U.S. as a whole.”p

Another DOJ subpeona .. One day after former White House counsel Pat Cipollone was subpoenaed by the DOJ, CNN's Katelyn Polantz reports that former Deputy White House Counsel Patrick Philbin also received a subpoena. Anchor Alisyn Camerota gave the story breaking news treatment and interviewed Polantz about her reporting "They both now have been subpoenaed for both documents and testimony in this federal criminal probe conducted being conducted by the U.S. Attorney's Office in D.C., the Justice Department and the FBI," Polantz reported www.rawstory.com/doj-trump-white-house-subpoena/

You can tell these guys are firmly in Putin’s pocket. This is one of the things Putin didn’t want to happen. Really. It's as if they're Putin's Polly Pockets, being carried with him wherever he wants to play. I have an internal debate about T-rump & people like Fleeing Fascist: Did Putin buy them out, or threaten them? Or, did he try one, and then the other?

Putin's pockets are getting fuller every day.... Hawley isn't alone in his selfishness. No world order, no. .. but sure care about others!!
Certainly super glad we had help from others in WWII! But I guess he missed that as well as the cold war...

Ha!! Sen Tom Cotton asks Hawley about his past..... Without naming Hawley, Cotton referenced his Republican colleague's decision to oppose the inclusion of Finland and Sweden in NATO. "Let's be honest," Cotton said. "Who can oppose the much stronger cases for Finland and Sweden, countries that are far larger, far more capable and far more strategically situated?" Cotton concluded with a comment directed at Hawley. "How could one disagree?" Cotton wondered. "After all, the last countries to join NATO -- Montenegro and North Macedonia -- were each approved by the Senate with only two 'no' votes."The Arkansas Republican contended that Finland and Sweden would be greater assets to the alliance. Cotton concluded with a comment directed at Hawley. "It would be strange indeed for any senator who voted to allow Montenegro or North Macedonia into NATO to turn around and deny membership to Finland and Sweden," he remarked.
"I would love to hear the defense of such a curious vote," Cotton added, his voice dripping with sarcasm.youtu.be/hsn2cuQLPDYwww.rawstory.com/tom-cotton-josh-hawley/

And yet they keep trying to say that Biden is in Putin’s pocket. Yes Hawley is only one but just listen to the far right over snd over. 🤦♀️ former still hasn’t condemned Putin and thinks he is a genius will he say the same about China and Taiwan. The right is still claiming that Biden is in Chinas pocket but actions speak louder than words.

Any voter who votes for any Republican candidate who is either endorsed by trump or who spouts the BIG LIE are voting against this country. It’s that simple. And it is that simple because NO ONE IS FORCING THEM TO VOTE A CERTAIN WAY. THEY CHOOSE TO VOTE THAT WAY. The voters in Meijer’s district had two choices. Vote for a somewhat normal Republican or a trump endorsed wacko Republican. And they chose the trump endorsed wacko Republican. Once again they chose to elect the wacko, no one forced them. Silly me I have a problem with voters voting against the country. And so yes they suck at their job of voting in my world. As far as the Democrats go, they should keep their noses out of the Republican primaries and concentrate on their own election. And if no Democrats are running, you register as a Republican so you can vote in your state's closed primaries. It is never as simple as you profess it to be. Do tell oh wise one, my state's Democrat party is encouraging me to vote for an Independent instead of Mike Lee. I don't understand how simple voting can be. After all, I'm technically a deplorable.

Good luck with that, we’ve already had that discussion. If I remember correctly, she disagreed with the Democrats move and thought they should have endorsed their own candidate. Even after it was pointed out it’s been almost 50 years since Utah elected a Democratic Senator. Or after we pointed out the wide margins of Trump’s wins in 2016 and 2020. Or we pointed out the Democrat was polling at 11%. Or after we pointed out how important it is to vote out Mike Lee who tried to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Eta - I went back and looked. Somehow, she thought the independent might split the Republican votes and a strong Democrat might be able to win. That would be a great scenario, but I think the more likely scenario is the Democrat and Independent split votes and Mike Lee wins re-election. I imagine the Democrats thought that, too, when they endorsed McMullin instead of their own candidate.

Also killed were two staff members, one 27 and one 28. As well as the driver of the vehicle they hit. Unknown whether the staff were local or from the DC offices..

Do tell oh wise one, my state's Democrat party is encouraging me to vote for an Independent instead of Mike I don't understand how simple voting can be. After all, I'm technically a deplorable. I’m sorry, my crystal ball is out being polished. Mike who? And why isn’t a Democratic running against Mike whoever he is? I have to say the notion the voters and the choices they make in electing people are in large part responsible for the problems this country faces sure has annoyed some folks on this board. It’s like I’m personally calling out individuals on the board for their choices when in fact I’m talking about voters in general. I mean I guess I could just blame those who just vote for Republicans, but us Democrats have make some dumb choices all on our own. And then there are Democrats & Republicans who can vote but stay home. And these voters are not affected by any voter suppression laws, they chose to stay home. And let’s not forget the independents who also make bad choices or can’t be bothered to vote as well. The voters elect the people that make decisions that affect all of us. On the local level, the state level, and on the federal level. Sometimes voters make the right choices and we all benefit. Sometimes they blow it and we all pay a price. And right now we seem to be losing a lot and real problems like climate change are all but being ignored by the officials we elected to run the government on all levels. The idea the voters and their choices are blameless for some of the problems that this country face is naive IMO. Agree or disagree it’s entirely up to you!

So if Mike is indeed Mike Lee of Utah then why did someone who worked for a time to overthrow the presidential election win his primary?
There was no indication there was any voter fraud in the days right after the election that should have caused anyone to work “14 hours a day” assisting trump in his efforts to overturn the election.
That alone should have disqualified him from winning his primary. But yet he won his primary against two individuals that seem able to be Utah’s next Senator.
Yes Mike Lee appears to be trying to distance himself from trump. But the fact that he not only bought into the notion the election was full of fraud but worked for a time spreading that notion around should disqualify him as a candidate for re-election, but yet he won his primary.
Not sure why the Democrats decided to sit this election out. Maybe it’s because of Evan McMullin. I know who he is. Followed him for awhile on twitter. I like him but he is a bit too conservative for my taste and if elected he will cause problems for the Democrats I’m sure. But he will be a better Senator for Utah then Mike Lee if they want a conservative representing them.
So we will see.
“SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah Sen. Mike Lee worked on early efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, helping push legally dubious schemes to keep then-President Donald Trump in power, before he shifted course and quickly backed away.
His efforts, revealed in text messages obtained by the House panel investigating the deadly insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, drew quick condemnation Friday from his reelection challengers.
Text messages between the Republican senator and then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows detail how Lee encouraged top Trump advisers to embrace Sidney Powell, a Republican lawyer who later spread wild and baseless claims of a rigged election.
The messages from Lee to Meadows — and messages from Texas Republican Rep. Chip Roy to Meadows — were reported on and published Friday by CNN.
They show Lee’s efforts to assist Trump began Nov. 7 and included early support for Powell. Later, Lee explored a plan to encourage state legislatures to alter the outcome of the 2020 election by appointing alternate electors.
At one point, Lee said he was working “14 hour days” assisting Trump. At another he asked Meadows, “Please tell me what I should be saying.”
By mid-November, however, the messages show Lee beginning to lose confidence in Powell and, eventually, the alternate electors plan. He also questioned efforts to object to the vote certification after no evidence of widespread fraud emerged.
“I only know that this will end badly for the President unless we have the Constitution on our side,” Lee wrote to Meadows.
He and Roy did not join congressional Republicans who objected to the results when they were certified in January.
Still, Lee’s Republican primary opponent Becky Edwards, a former state lawmaker, said the messages show Lee “researched overturning a lawful, democratic election for partisan and political gain … he allowed the situation to continue and enabled those seeking to keep themselves in power, no matter the consequences.”
Ally Isom, a former gubernatorial deputy chief of staff who is also challenging Lee, said the messages show he is “more concerned with playing DC games” than with representing people in Utah. “I am a classic conservative,” she said in a statement.
Independent Evan McMullin, a former presidential candidate, also criticized Lee on Twitter..”
