Sigh… 1. Raise your hand if you pay much attention to campaign ads on tv or flyers in the mail. Be honest. I personally find them a nuisance and ignore the ads on TV and toss the flyers without looking at them. Having said that I still find ways to know about the candidates by getting information from disinterested third parties. 2. Did dumpster don or any Democrats follow each voter into the voting both and put a gun to their head and force them to vote for this Cox guy? Don’t think they did so that means, of their own free will, these fools decided to vote for this guy Cox. From The Hill…. linkMaryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) on Sunday criticized the GOP gubernatorial primary winner in his home state, calling him a “QAnon whack job” and declaring that his victory was the result of “collusion between Trump and the Democrats.” “It was kind of unprecedented collusion between the Democratic Governors Association and Donald Trump,” Hogan told ABC “This Week” co-anchor Jonathan Karl of the GOP primary win of candidate Dan Cox. Hogan alleged that Cox’s win was assisted by campaign ads by the Democratic Governors Association (DGA), as part of a move purportedly aimed at helping Republican candidates unlikely to win the general election beat out their GOP opponents in the primaries in order to lead to a Democrat winning to lead the state in November. “So, it was a win for the Democrats. It’s a big loss for the Republican Party and we have no chance of saving that governor seat. We actually had a chance if they hadn’t gotten together and done that,” Hogan said, adding that he believed the DGA had spent $3 million to help advertise Cox, while the candidate himself had spent just $100,000. Cox won the Maryland GOP primary with Trump’s endorsement and has backed Trump’s baseless claims about a stolen 2020 presidential election. He’s also clashed with Hogan, who is term-limited, but has reportedly considered a 2024 presidential bid. In a Sunday appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Hogan reiterated the notion of collusion, which he said “propped this guy up and got him elected.” He told co-host Jake Tapper that he expects “fringe candidates” like Cox to lose, adding that he doesn’t think there’s “any chance” the Republican nominee will win Maryland. “There’s no question that we lost a battle, and we’re losing a few battles. But the fight is long. It’s not — it’s long from being over. I mean, we have another couple of years before the next election … There’s going to be a long battle for the heart and soul of the Republican Party. And this is just the beginning.”

Ah one needs lithium mines and geothermal power plants to move away from fossil fuels.
It’s in Sonoma County. I’ve never seen it but my dad worked for the construction company that helped build it.
“The Geysers is the world's largest geothermal field, containing a complex of 18 geothermal power plants, drawing steam from more than 350 wells, located in the Mayacamas Mountains approximately 72 miles north of San Francisco, California. Geysers produced about 20% of California's renewable energy in 2019.”

More interesting info about the attack on GOP candidate for governor Lee Zelden.. NY GOP Rep. Lee Zeldin is blaming the release of the man who allegedly attacked him on bail reform. The man was released because the DA very strangely charged him with a non-bail eligible offense. That DA - Sandra Doorley - is co-chair of Zeldin's campaign," New York attorney Rebecca Kavanagh wrote.*** Can you imagine any other case where a political candidate is rushed onstage by someone with a weapon and then only charged with an E-level felony?" she asked. "By one of the most pro law and order prosecutors in the country no less." New York civil rights attorney Scott Hechinger also found it suspicious. "She inexplicably declined to charge him with a violent felony and seek bail. As she would have done in any other case. This isn’t about bail reform. This is a scandal," he concluded.www.rawstory.com/lee-zeldin-attacker-bail/

So dumpster don is coming to Washington to give a “policy speech”. Funny, he never gave one when he was president. It was always just wait.
And I like Acosta’s question “What Policy? How to do a coup?”

The Republicans must be very afraid of Secretary Pete and the 2024 election if President Biden decides not to run.
Little Marco took comments Secretary Pete made on Fox News interview and deliberately misrepresented what he said.

Have you ever been to Nevada? You do know it’s one big desert don’t you? I was born in Reno and at the time where we lived it was at the northern edge of the city. Every time there would be wind more then a breeze sagebrush would blow down the streets. Now that part of Reno is just about in the center of the city. Nevada has two main industries. Gambling and mining. I checked and there are currently 180,000 active mine claims in the state. The two mines in question are located just north of Las Vegas not far from the CA state line and in the northern part of Nevada. In the middle of a desert. Because Nevada has so many mines they have “ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATION OF NEVADA’S MINING INDUSTRY”. linkAs far as the Tribes go and their sacred lands, they can’t prove that land is really sacred land. In the 1970s OPEC imposed an oil embargo against the United States. I remember Nixon talking to the Nation on TV one night about it. And I remember thinking that the United States had to find away so a country or entity couldn’t do something like that against this country. Ever since then we have been subjects to the whims of OPEC. And while we drill a lot of oil we export a lot and then turn around and import just about the same amount we export which leaves us subject to the whims of OPEC. Still Lithium batteries will go along way in making this country truly independent from oil producing countries. And to mine lithium in the United States is another big plus in becoming independent. And there is only one state that it has been found to have lithium and that’s Nevada. And while I don’t want Nevada to be a depository for nuclear waste I don’t have any problem mining the lithium in Nevada, a state of active mines. Take a gander at the pictures of the area these mines will be at. Thacker Pass. Clayton Vslley

Take a gander at the pictures of the area these mines will be at. Thacker Pass. Clayton VslleyI understand the value of renewable energy and electric powered cars. That doesn't mean that we should mine lithium regardless of the cost to the local environment. Easy for you to say, go ahead and mine there. You don't live there and won't have to deal with the potential water contamination, production of toxic waste, habitat destruction etc. And who are we to say the Native Americans don't have a legitimate claim that the land is sacred? Also, just because Nevada is a desert, that's not a justification for potentially harming the ecosystem there. Deserts are important, too. There are valid environmental concerns regarding the mines that shouldn't just be dismissed. Maybe some of them can be mitigated, but we shouldn't just dismiss or disregard the concerns because it's a desert or because it's Nevada. I agree with you on most political issues, but not this one. Regrettably, this thread has changed and there is very little participation or discussion left. It's mostly you posting tweets, complaining that voters are stupid, your agenda of what Democrats should prioritize and who we should vote for, climate change is terrible, especially how climate change affects California. Yes, most of us know climate change is an imminent threat and don't need to be lectured. Whenever anyone else posts something, it mostly gets lost in your tweets. Elaine had a really valid point about your political posts yesterday on the bullying thread. I understand this is your thread and I can choose to not participate. I just wish there was more discussion and more points of view.

the current fires are horrible and it is very apparent that climate change is fueling the intensity and frequency. but for a little historical context.. there was a fire in 1910 that started in eastern WA and was put out by snows in montana...killed a couple of hundred of people. smoke went to east coast.
then there was the tillamook fire of the 1930's.. burned a significant portion of northwestern Oregon..
we have more tools today and more knowledge.. but massive fires are often uncontrollable. now and in the past.

People need to wake and take these fools seriously and show them the door. Apparently, he's never heard Dr. Phil's theory that it's better to be from a broken home than IN one. Also, since the violence victim is usually a woman, no big deal, right? Gotta' keep them in line, ya' know.
