I just learned that one is not supposed to rinse one's mouth after brushing. Leave the paste in your mouth for increasing the protection from the fluoride in the paste.
New information for you?

Yeah...that's not happening.
I'll rinse with a fluoride rinse before I leave toothpaste in my mouth

I've been having issues with my teeth and had read this. I started doing it and now it's weird to rinse. I don't even drink any water for 15 minutes after I brush.

What do you mean “rinse after brushing”?
Like you swish water around in your mouth after you brush?

I mean, to me that's like you swallowing dirty dish water. You just brushed all that crud off of your teeth and now you are gonna swallow it?
Ugh not happening.

I take it to mean, you brush, spit out what you can, then leave the residue on your teeth. You don't do a water rinse. Nope, I couldn't do it. I would hate that feeling of paste on my teeth, plus the taste of toothpaste lingering.

Not happening. (IF it did, I would want that info straight from my dentist) but No.

It's been a thing here for ages. By the time you've finished with all the brushing and spitting, there is not much paste left in your mouth to feel gross.

After I brush, I wet my brush several times and continue to brush so most of the paste is gone.

I'm not a mint person so toothpaste already is unpleasant to me.

I'm not a mint person so toothpaste already is unpleasant to me. You should try Tanner’s Tasty Paste! Amazon sells it. It comes in chocolate or vanilla ice cream flavors that smell just like a Wendy’s Frosty. I get it for my DD who also hates strong minty flavors.

I was on a prescription toothpaste, CT4X gel for awhile. It was a no rinse toothpaste. It was a gel, so it wasn’t too bad, but it wasn’t very nice. Ugh. They have me using two different CloSYS pastes and those are much better.

I too am gagging every morning because of the taste of the toothpaste. The last thing I want is that taste left in my mouth. I use biotene after I brush

I never rinse after brushing. Another weird thing that we all do differently.

I’ve been trying to get my younger kids to stop NOT rinsing their mouth. Maybe I shouldn’t worry about it? It seems gross to me to leave that residue on the teeth.

I do remember reading some time ago that the toothpaste should remain on teeth for 20ish mins--not happening here.
