Yes I do take my phone everywhere. But I got rid of the Apple Watch years ago - it’s just too much of a distraction for me.

I have gotten better but I still forget it sometimes. I like to have it in case of emergencies, especially now that there are no/very very few public phones available. But there are still a lot of areas (including my home) that I don’t get very good cell service.
We were just talking about how much has changed because of cells. In the mid 80’ we had two cars and were driving up the California coast and thought we would just stay together…yup right…through LA…that sounds easy. We had no plans of where to meet if we got separate, which we did. Hahaha. We laugh at how easy it would be these days with cell phones.

I take it everywhere. I usually have it near me in my house, too, because I live alone and I'm paranoid I'll trip on the stairs, be unable to call for help, die, and have the cats eat me before anyone finds me. I also have an 83 year old dad that lives alone so I want to be available if he needs me.

I resisted getting a cell phone for a long time but finally relented when I was doing a lot of solo out of state traveling for work and DH wanted me to be able to call if I ran into any problems (never did, but it was nice knowing I wouldn’t have to try to track down a pay phone).
I have an iPhone now and it goes most places with me because it replaces lists, reminders, a camera, a date book/calendar, maps, etc. It’s handy to be able to look up a recipe on the fly, find a location without having to stop and ask someone, check gas prices at competing stations, pull up coupons or store specials and so many other things.

Yes... I had my wheelchair take off on me one too many times. Now I know the advantage of having it with me. At home, even if I don't physically have it on me, I keep it somewhere low enough that I can reach it if I fall out of my wheelchair. I know I should get Lifeline, but I am not ready to feel that old. I don't feel like I fall with enough regularity to warrant it yet. I will revisit if I start falling more often, or when I turn 55...whichever comes first. And I'm hoping it's 55. Even then, I'll see where I'm at, and if I'm still doing well, I'll wait & revisit again every year or two If you've had multiple falls, it's not a question of how old you are but how safe you are and that's not safe. I would strongly strongly encourage you to get one. You can keep it discreetly tucked into your shirt if you don't want to "look" old with one but it's just smart to have one in your case, whether you're 25 or 55. Please re-think your stance on this. I shall consider it further... despite what I said re: feeling old, the bigger issue is the cost. I can go 6 months w/o falling. That's $300 to not have to use something. I don't really have that kind of money to spend on something I'll use once every 6 months. It's cheaper to keep my phone on me & charged.
