I’ll go first lol:
On a plane. Business class. Enjoying all my legroom. An older man (60s, probably, not elderly) arrives at his seat across the aisle from me, one of the last to board the full flight. Unsurprisingly, the overhead compartments are all full except at the way back. The flight attendant tells him she needs to gate check it or put it in the back. He refuses both because he’ll be in a hurry when he lands.
He points across the aisle and says “She’s not using her space, it can go under that seat” (meaning under the seat in front of me, taking my paid-for extra legroom)
I stared at him, legit shocked someone would have the nerve. I was temporarily speechless. The flight attendant said, “do you know her?” Him, “No” Her, “I don’t think…” and she looked at me quizzically. Me, “You’re joking, right? No, you can’t have my space.” He fussed a bit and the flight attendant pointed out now all the overhead space was taken, and she’d be gate checking it.
He keeps glaring at me 🤣
Note: He never considered putting it under the seat in front of HIM and losing his legroom.
What minor thing has left you momentarily speechless lately?

Wow, entitled much? I might have already mentioned this one, but I was giving a few essential oils to my daughter-in-law. I couldn't find a new bottle of cinnamon, just an opened one. My mom had an unopened one and gave it to me while we were out of the house. I tossed it in the car. When we got home my husband grabbed the oil for me from the car and walked into the house behind me. Suddenly I hear "Wow, this smells really good!" He had opened the oil that I was gifting to her. I just stared at him with my mouth open. He still doesn't understand why I was shocked and a little upset. I have a similar luggage story, too. I needed to put my carry-on up above. There were two small purses in the bin, side-by-side. I pushed one behind the other and put my carry-on up there. I got yelled at by another passenger saying "we were saving that spot for my niece's bag!" Ummm...no. Luckily the flight attendant backed me up.

Wow. Reminds of the woman sitting behind me on a flight tapping me on the shoulder to tell me she had really long legs and I would need to keep my seat upright for the flight. Her partner was sitting across the aisle from me. I gave him a "is she pranking me?" look and said something like "that's not a promise I can make". I really wish I'd offered to trade seats with her partner so he could sit upright in front of her.

Similar! Flying back from Charlotte last month the lady in front of me *did* put her bag under the seat in front of me (so under her own seat but my spot) - so rude!

I’d say reading your story just now is the last small thing that surprised me. The nerve! 😲
I went into a Dunkin Donuts bathroom today and it started talking to me and startled me. “Welcome to Dunkin! We’re glad you’re here.” Who wants that when they’re trying to pee? DH went into the other bathroom at the same time as me and when I asked him if the bathroom talked to him too he told me he jumped because he thought someone had walked in.

I have an entitled plane story. It was a small plane, one of those that only seats about 30 people. This was also years ago when you could take liquid through security. I get on the plane, settle my small carry-on, basically just my purse, in front of me, pull out a magazine and start to read. I hear this “excuse me”. It was the flight attendant and she was wanted me to move seats because the last couple to board the plane wanted to sit together. I was a bit shocked by the request, it was a short 30-40 minute flight. But, not wanting to make waves, I agreed. Well, the lady in the row I moved to had 4 of those gallon bottle of water under the seats in front of her, including what would be my seat. I had to put my carry-on in a bin in the back of the plane, my carry-on which had all my valuables in it! And the bonus, this lady talked the entire flight!! All because a grown ass couple could not sit one row apart from each other for 30 minutes!!
To the OP, I am surprised there was no overhead space in business class. I thought that was one of the perks of business class, guaranteed overhead bin. They usually don’t let others put their bags up there.

That just reminded me, I was on a flight last week. When I boarded, the entire overhead bin over my seat was full, so I put my bag across the aisle in the bin there. At the end of the flight, the man there (whose bag was also in the bin, but he got on the flight later, so it was a row up) got completely red-faced yelling at me that you are only permitted to use the bin above your seat.
Ha ha. I have flown something like 70 times in the past year. News to me!

The bins above that side are very shallow and can’t fit a roller bag. So that kind of messes things up.

Bins on one side of the plane was smaller than the other side and everyone was trying to put their bags on the larger side.

I had my car windows tinted 5 yrs ago. They’ve been bubbling for quite a long time. Its so bad now I basically had to roll down the driver side window to see out of it. I found my receipt and saw that it said “lifetime” warranty. I called and sure enough, the bubbling is covered under the warranty. Today I got all the windows re-tinted for free. I was pleasantly surprised a warranty finally worked in my favor!

I have an airline story too. I used to fly all the time from Oklahoma City to Houston and back. Most of the planes were small, with single seats on one side of the plane and pairs of seats on the other side. On this particular flight I was flying alone, so when I purchased my ticket I had chosen a seat on the side of the plane w/ single seats. When I got on the plane, a man was sitting in my seat. I said “Excuse me, but I think you are in my seat.”
He looked at me and said “I need to spread my things out and work on this flight, so I was hoping I could talk you into changing seats with me. I’m in a window seat on the other side of the aisle.”
I said “I’m sorry, but I want to sit in my assigned seat.”
He sighed and gathered up his things and said “We’ll I just thought we could work something out, but I guess not.”
I couldn’t believe he was acting like I was the bad person for not giving up the seat I had reserved just so that he would be more comfortable.

One of my customers I bagged for got a $109.00 even total today. I celebrated 1:09 PM last year as what’s called my Solar Return time. It was also in todays Mayan Archetypes. I pointed it out to her as she was walking out and she seemed intrigued.
There was also a 232.00 and 235.00 even totals today, one before the 109 and one after.
A little while later I’m outside grabbing carts and I see an AAA truck by her car charging her battery. I walk up to her and we start a conversation that finishes back in the store while she was waiting for her cold items that were saved for her to be brought back to her.
Not even 20 minutes later as I’m out doing carts again I see another AAA truck next to a car. It’s very rare to see this happen here, let alone twice in the same day. So I start to strike up a conversation with that person too. It was the starter with this one so a tow truck had to be called.
As I’m walking out about an hour later to go home I see the tow truck approaching. It was 2:32. As I’m getting in the car and turn it on, the truck is repositioning and starts to lift the bed at 2:35.

I was told by someone I went to college with that if I needed loans to go to school, I didn't belong there. The federal loan program should be abolished altogether and hey, if I wanted knowledge, there was nothing stopping me from becoming a plumber who reads Kant!
This wasn't even about the forgiveness angle. Which I can see both sides of the argument. It was a flat out pay for it up front or don't go at all.

How bitchy women can be to other women when they think they are safely behind their cameras at crops! It’s so sad to have women tear each other down especially now with all the crap going on in the world!

Today heard a sports commentator, an ex footballer (soccer), whilst talking about football, veers off topic and waxes lyrically about ballet and how much he loves The Nutcracker. Love that he loves ballet but it was a little surprising

It would be interesting to see if men would ask or berate other men to give up their seat, their legroom, their overhead bin space.
What is the best response in this situation, as I know it will happen to me some day?

What is the best response in this situation, as I know it will happen to me some day? Less common for men to do it to other men, especially if they are age and race peers, but not unheard of. Best answer? “No. This is my space.” No need to be clever, to apologize, etc. Be assertive and direct and clear that it’s not up for discussion.

After bringing in the majority of the groceries from the store last night, I had to go back to the car to get my work bag, plastic coffee tumbler, and a few other items. Put the tumbler on the roof of the car. Tried to catch it as it decided to fall. I caught it, but the bottom hit my finger. Thought nothing of it, but it stung a little. Fast-forward to this afternoon, and now my finger is bruised. From a plastic coffee tumbler. HOW.

I’m at the Seattle airport - pleasantly surprised how polite everyone is and our breakfast was actually good (though expensive). Also surprised at the multiple people who watch shows on their iPad with no ear buds wtf. But busy - more importantly how was the return to work fashion scene 😂? I am completely confused by work pants these days lol. I’ve been in office exactly once and wore my jeans with a blouse.

What is the best response in this situation, as I know it will happen to me some day? It has been very dry around here. There is a small field behind our houses that belongs to the electric company, and all of us put grass clippings, leaves, etc, there. I came back from a festival a couple of Saturdays ago, and this idiot man was burning tree branches at the edge GoPro the field. I walked up to him and asked if he wasn’t worried about the very dry field catching fire, and he said “I’m not bothered. I have a hose.” Thankfully it didn’t catch fire, no thanks to this jerk.

Not speechless, but I am amazed at how much crap my new Roomba cleans up. I think an area is clean and it finds so much dust and nastiness. The thing is awesome!

Mine happened in the past hour.......:
I've been searching for Nanny jobs for 2 months now. Found 1, but the mom was a kooky chick. Lasted 2 days & I quit (she was seriously a lunatic). Been keeping my other job (the "you have 6 weeks off" job) on the backburner. The mom did want me back to now watch the infant + the 17 month old (ugh!!). I never ruled it out, just to be sure. Well, she just told me not to count on her because she's trying to figure out how to remain a SAHM vs. working her very well-paid job (from home). I'm thrown. I have NOTHING right now and this might be it.....
Guess it's not so small but it certainly surprised the $hit out of me.....

Also surprised at the multiple people who watch shows on their iPad with no ear buds wtf. I do not understand why people do that. My personal pet peeve - calls on speakerphone in public. But busy - more importantly how was the return to work fashion scene 😂? I am completely confused by work pants these days lol. I’ve been in office exactly once and wore my jeans with a blouse. It was SUPER casual - we were at a ski resort and our morning and afternoon sessions were broken up by hikes, axe throwing, alpine slides, etc. so we were all straight out of REI most of the time lol. I wore a green silk Frame blouse and jeans for my headshots. But I have four more work trips coming up in the next six weeks and those will require stepping it up a little bit. Figuring probably cute blazers, jeans, heels lol
