Here in Wi, rape kits were sitting for 20+ years, as there " was a back up of cases.". Supposedly they are now processing padt.kits. /s, sure. Less than a year.....not surprised nothing has happened. That is so crazy and ridiculous! Something needs to be done about this. Yeah, the legislature needs to appropriate more funding for the state crime lab, both equipment and personnel.

There are grants available for DNA testing, personnel and equipment. Some people are not keen working under a grant as when the funding is depleted they no longer have a job. Another One of the other issues could be (and certainly not speaking for every single lab in every single city, state, county) is the pay. So labs can bring in people just starting out in the discipline and then they leave for other opportunities based on the pay. Then you have the amount of time spent wasted sitting waiting to testify (hours) where the professional is sitting twiddling their thumbs were they could be preparing samples for testing back in the lab. Instead they just sit and wait, break for lunch, come directly back and sit some more finally testifying (or not) at the end of the day.
Imagine that scenario on a daily/weekly/monthly basis depending on the size of the jurisdiction. And imagine the samples just sitting waiting to be tested.
Then you have the cost of the equipment. Yes with grants you can purchase equipment but the cost is crazy. So you have labs operating with equipment that is passed its life of use that is being held together with rubber bands, paper clips and what ever else so that it can be used.
Also if you have a lab that has numerous people able to work in that particular discipline but you don’t have the number of equipment to support that someone can’t work on that particular thing if someone else is utilizing the equipment.
Labs can of course pay for personnel etc out of their budgets without grants but everyone is vying for the same dollars so no one gets the amount they want.
I am not excusing or thinking it is ok that samples sit for 20 years, just giving info.

I think the Browns should pick him up because they have no problem playing sex offenders. /s I have been a Browns' fan for over 50 years and I am just so done with them. Watson is disgusting. I'm following the Bengals and the Panthers this year. I applaud the Bills for actually taking out the trash. Same here!!!! I'm even tempted to go buy a Panthers Mayfield jersey, just because his was the first Browns Jersey I actually ever bought and I am still a fan of his! And I'm learning to like the Bangals as well. I have a lot of thoughts on Jimmy & Dee and the whole Watson situation and them originally be Steelers fans before purchasing the Browns, but its just thoughts....

I think he will get his guaranteed money which was $216,148. He had a deal with Giorgio Armani that hasn’t paid him any cash but outfitted him in what was estimated to be about $15,000 worth of clothing. He also collected around $7,500 from Panini on a rookie card deal. I wonder if Panini will try to get back the money since there isn’t going to be a rookie card now. I wonder if he will be in breach if there was a morals clause in any of his contracts? Probably not because it happened prior to the draft. I am so proud to be a Bills fan today. They absolutely did the right thing in cutting him. I'm a Pats fan but if they don't go anywhere I root for the Bills

What a mess. Learning what the prosecutors discovered via cell phone footage and witness statements certainly throws doubt on her story, doesn't it? Innocent until proven guilty is still the best path, even in situations like this one. Sadly, I don't think that exists anymore, especially since the advent of social media.

I’ll be the first to admit I was one who judged first without the facts. I try very hard not to do that but on this one I failed. I hope some NFL team decides to give him a chance to play.

Was she under age though? In my state, the age of consent is 16.
