I made it through this section. Well I LOVE this but many on FB said they could see vases before they saw dogs. I put red collars on my dogs and think that pop of colour helped. It would be a shame to get so far and give up but only you know if your heart is in it. DEX I’m sorry that happened! What a shame. 4 quilts since May is amazing!

I threw it away. I got so irritated last night with the whole thing. Nobody can see the dogs. My mother told me it was ugly. And what's worse is that I had two friends tell me it looked great and then said they couldn't see it. I feel like they were just lying to me. Why would you say something looked good when it just looks like a bunch of random stitches to you? That's irritating to me. I'll think twice about sharing anything with them again.
I'm just irritated I've wasted two weeks and two skeins of yarn now

Today I sat down at my embroidery machine to stitch out a beautiful watercolor-ish fish design. It was 12 colors and I was on color 10 when my hoop popped and the design got all screwed up. I was 75 minutes into a 90 minute design. Grrrrrrrrr It was the final step in the latest quilt I had made. I made a Halloween quilt recently that I will have to post for jeremysgirl. I have been a quilting fool lately and have finished 4 quilts since May. Love to see all of the creative juices flowing here. That is really frustrating. Can you continue it? Is it lost forever? And yes I'd love to see your Halloween quilt.

wellway I hear you. I signed up for Jimmy Beans monthly shawl club and I've done absolutely nothing on it. Nothing! All year. I have a bunch of neatly packaged unopened balls of yarn just waiting for me to do something with them. I signed up for an Annie's kit club at the end of last year and I opened the first package in late July. I wanted to take a crochet project on my trip, but the skull blanket is too big and WAY too heavy, especially to pull out on an airplane. I'm still working on it now because it's not as heavy and hot to work on. It's still in the mid 90's here. Yes a smaller project is nice for traveling. I have a camping trip scheduled for next month and jop sent me two skeins of Stylecraft charmed yarn. I'm thinking I will take one of those with me. After all, I'll only need one skein.

I'm just irritated I've wasted two weeks and two skeins of yarn now I'm sorry you feel so disappointed and frustrated. You had a really cute blanket planned for you grandbaby, and it wasn't coming together the way you envisioned. To play devils advocate for your friends, your work does look good. To me, the vase shapes had a Moroccan feel to them, and at first glance I thought you'd started another project. When I scrolled back up to look at it again and focused on the "negative space" I saw the pups. Once I looked at them as pairs instead of individual dogs, I saw them right away now. I've got nothing for your mom's comment, that was rude. Untrue also (IMO). It might not have been what you wanted it to be, and not worth your time or yarn to continue on with, but it was not ugly. I can't wait to see what you decide to make the baby!

It was a successful weekend and hope to keep the momentum going. Got 2 quilts back from the long armer Friday. Got the binding on both of them (One was for my husband and the other is for the granddaughter for Christmas), started and finished a pumpkin runner for a side table. And yesterday started a baby quilt for my cousin. Don't know what it is yet and I already had a girl quilt I completed last week so wanted to get a boy one done as well. Have a lot coming up with work so didn't want to wait until we knew and then find myself with not enough time to get it done.

Can't believe September is already here! I swear every year flies by faster. It's been a challenge to get any crafting done this summer with a remodel going on. However, I did manage to make 30 quilt blocks for a baby quilt. This month's goal is to actually put them together for a quilt top. The pattern is Happy Stripes. All the blocks are made entirely from fabrics in my stash. Was hoping to do the backing from my stash but nothing is working so I'll have to buy something for that. All these shades of blue and red have been used up so I'll have to look for more fat quarters in these shades at QF. Yesterday registration opened for the quilt festival. I signed up for 3 half-day classes, one quilting related and the other two are sewing related. The quilting class is about Crumb Quilting. You learn to take all your odd sized scraps and bits of fabrics, sew them together and make usable sized fabric pieces to make scrap quilts with. With the cost of good quilt fabric these days, using every scrap appeals to me. I also love the look of a scrap quilt like my granny used to make. I love this! I’m working on a Happy Stripes quilt, too… Well, sort of. I had to stop to make two baby quilts: one is down and at the longarm quilter’s, and one still to go.

I didn’t see them at first but once I knew they were there I can’t not see them but the details in the light section do distract. If it was solid white with just a heart I think it would work but the stripes are distracting. Such a bummer to have spent two weeks on it. I hope you find another pattern you like better.

I couldn’t see the dogs then suddenly could. I liked it, but if you weren’t happy with it I think you were smart to abandon it…this is supposed to be fun!

Well cr@p, the Covid monster has got me. I’m hoping I don’t get to feel any worse than I do now. I’m well enough to carry on as normal, albeit from the bedroom and DH gets the rest of the house. Here’s hoping the vaccination is working it’s magic.

Wow DEX it's beautiful! I just love it. And it looks huge! Is it huge? Gennifer we would love to see your fabric choices too. I love that **GypsyGirl** are so sharp and crisp. They look perfect together. Although gypsygirl has a real eye for fabrics that go well together and make sharp quilts. gillyp I hope you don't feel too bad. Maybe you can relax and get some crochet done while you are under quarantine.

Here's what I've been up to. Ah that’s the ticket! Beautiful! And a beautiful colorway. Did you choose it yourself? These were the colors I was going to use on the dog blanket. And I really don't think this picture captured the colors right either. It is pretty close to the designers colors. But mine are much brighter. This is Yiayia's Boy pattern from Hooked on Sunshine.
