For anyone who doesn’t know the story behind the Navy pulling the coffin. At Queen Victoria’s funeral the horses pulling the carriage were misbehaving so they had to unhook them. The navy stepped in to continue pulling the coffin and since then it became tradition. I didn’t know that! Thank you 🙂

The navy stepped in to continue pulling the coffin and since then it became tradition. We googled that here and had to sort-of laugh... darn horses. I was worried about the ones who were pulling the coffin earlier last week because they were feeling "spicy" as my kids would say. I know the riders are experts but still horses are horses...

I have a question. All the posters here say in a snarky way “thoughts and prayers”, how come the queens funeral is full of religion and now it’s ok? Just an honest question? This is just a troll question posted to stir up trouble. You have to have been living under a rock for the past many years to have this be an "honest question".

The drummer has to do 75 beats a minute and he controls the pace of the march. The march is called lockstep. Apparently it is very difficult to get horses to walk to this beat.

There is a piece of myrtle in the flowers taken from the SAME PLANT as the myrtle in her wedding bouquet, if I heard correctly.

Have to say she never crossed my mind. Just that Andrew is so obviously without a partner. Obviously she wouldn’t be in the main party but I thought she might have been invited to attend in the congregation? I think Andrew is a POS, but I thought he was still friends with her, AND she is the mother of two Princesses, so I assumed she would have been there with them!

I think the horses are doing so good with all the bells and drums and cannon fire! However, I also just watched a regiment walk thru a big pile of horse poo. They didn't even flinch, I guess they have to do what they have to do! LOL I also think its interesting that the 6 soldiers directly in front of the gun carriage are at least a full head taller than the rest of the group!

Myrtle from the same plant has been used in all Royal brides bouquets since Queen Victoria’s wedding. She started many traditions didn’t she.

I think “thoughts and prayers” can be said in a snarky or flippant way when being related to politicians who will say “thoughts and prayers” for someone (usually when there is a mass shooting) but do nothing more than that. But the saying can also be genuine.

I'm sure I read that she lives in his house, The Royal Lodge, Windsor, when she is in the uk.

The tall guy in the middle, in front of the sailors, wearing morning suit is Tall Paul. The Queen’s personal footman. I think he’s the guy in The Olympic James Bond film with the Queen.

Thanks for sharing this with me ladies. It was my dad’s funeral 6 weeks ago and whilst I was desperate to watch today I did worry it might trigger me. Sharing this with you all has been just what I needed.
