I’ve literally sat on the sofa all day and I’m exhausted. The Royal Family still have one more service to attended. They have been amazing.

joelise - I feel the same way. And they have been doing this for 10 days - I bet everyone just wants to go home, pour themselves a stiff drink and change into something comfortable (and not black - I have been imagining Camilla in pink fluffy slippers all week!)

I’m wrung out.
There may be things we get wrong but when it comes to ceremonial, I don’t believe anyone does it better.

Apparently Camilla likes to spend time in her own house Rey Mill House because she can walk around in her dressing gown! But I see her more in furry bootee slippers!

Canada is holding a service of remembrance at Christ Church Cathedral in Ottawa. The only country in the Commonwealth to do so.

I am also so proud for you all - there were so many steps and people and chances for this to get messed up up but it was perfect & fitting. The attention was were it needed to be, and The Queen was truly honored. It was perfect and fitting.

I was going to stop commenting for the day, but I’ve just seen a clip at Windsor, where the Queen’s coffin passes and Princess Charlotte curtsies, she bossily tells Prince George that he needs to bow now!

I read somewhere that the Duke of Norfolk has been in charge and planning the Queen's funeral for 20 years. They did it for Queen Victoria in 10 days.

The attention was were it needed to be, and The Queen was truly honored. It was perfect and fitting. I'm with you on that. It was pure perfection. I have been watching all week and watched non-stop today starting at 5:30 Eastern. I was so grateful for the incredible camera work of the feed. From the sights and the sounds it really felt almost like being there. While the ongoing commentary on CNN was annoying at times, it did help me understand more what I was seeing. Mercifully they kept their mouths shut during the actual funeral. So many observations, but I'll mention just one. The beautiful young men who did a flawless job carrying her casket through so many maneuvers. Disciplined, skilled, strong, precise. But also human. During a closeup of them carrying the Queen into St. George's Chapel, the last carry for them, there was a closeup of their faces. I was particularly struck by the emotion detected on the young man on the right, second to the rear. It was so clear to me that he was holding back his expression, but I could see it. Grief. Sadness. Tears not being able to be shed. It was really moving.

Did they eat or have time for the bathroom at all? I know, I paused the TV to go to the loo at least 5 times during the day! I think that, apart from those that followed the hearse, the others went on a much quicker direct route to Windsor, so hopefully they had time to get something to eat and refresh themselves before the second service. I think the two children will sleep well tonight! Maybe not Prince Louis though!

As an American who watched all day, from 4:45 a.m. eastern time, I say well done. So lovely, and meaningful, and educational for those of us who don't know a lot about all of it. After all the news people blathering on about security and possible threats, etc. it went off perfectly. Little things like misbehaving horses don't count, lol. And even Mother Nature cooperated.

So what happens now? Does everyone go back to work tomorrow? King Charles start engagements or is there so 'down time' for the Royal Family? When is everyone Royal expected to be back to the business of the Monarchy?

I PVR’d it, I am at the part where the coffin left Westminster after the funeral. Those pall bearers are rock stars.
I agree, the tradition and the ceremony is extraordinary.
As a Canadian, seeing the RCMP in their red serge on horseback leading the procession was so significant. There is a long relationship between the Queen and the RCMP musical ride.

I purposely had the house to myself today so that I could watch most of it undisturbed. Just incredible!

Yes, I think so and flags, apart from the royal standard, stay at half mast on royal premises. I think they must be exhausted in every sense. I'm embarrassed to say that I really didn't know much about Princess Anne before the Queen passed away, but her love and respect for her mother was really evident through all of this.

We've spent all day on the sofa watching, and we're shattered between alternating tears and pride, over and over again. Had to go for a walk once it got dark, just to wind down.

Princess Anne is normally the hardest working Royal, carrying out more official engagements per year than any one. She is a very respected and accomplished horsewoman, having won a gold and two silvers at European events and the first Royal to compete in the Olympics. She even won BBC Sports Personality of the Year in the early 1970s and her daughter won it in the early 2000s. Her daughter Zara has won an Olympic silver medal.
