Thanks, I ordered the class.
Did anyone else watch her mini studio tour filmed on Friday? I liked seeing her space and how she uses it.

Did anyone else watch her mini studio tour filmed on Friday? I liked seeing her space and how she uses it. I did watch and I loved it actually. It's nice to see a real space, one that isn't all cleaned up just for filming or sterile. She has a mish mash of things, and while her cart kind of made my heart stop (I'd have major anxiety if my cart was heaped like that, it would stress me out) I so so appreciated the fact that she made no apologies and was just like, yeah that needs sorting. It was awesome.

wallyagain & kmage, I also watched her scrap space mini-tour and enjoyed it for the same reasons. It's a real workspace and looks much used and much loved.

It was awesome. This! I enjoyed seeing her small space, as I can relate to that, but the random piles gave me anxiety. 😂 Overall I did enjoy the tour. I want to copy her booper storage.

I watched her little studio tour! I am curious about her paper system… I couldn’t tell from the video how it was all organized, was it by color, theme, manufacturer, etc?

Did anyone else watch her mini studio tour filmed on Friday? I liked seeing her space and how she uses it. Yes - I wished the camera view hadn't been so close, I had a hard time getting the "overall" picture. But it makes her feel even more genuine, and a small space scrapper like so many of us who lack deluxe studios and don't keep things spotless! So much felt "just like me". Sewing drawer - check. Wool in the top of a closet - check. scrappyrabbit - she did say the paper was entirely organized by manufacturer as that's how she thinks, and where a manufacturer had subunits she had it divided (she said Paige Evans has 2 of her slots; Amy Tan has one; Vicky B has 2 slots; and her own lines each have a slot of their own)

I sometimes watch her videos in the background while I’m doing other things, so I saw the paper cabinet but I didn’t catch that tidbit.

I saw the paper cabinet but I didn’t catch that tidbit She said it way later in the segment, not while we were looking at the paper! I usually only half-listen myself.

Is the studio tour recorded or was it only shown live? It was the first part of her BOBW Live, tour before scrapping the page.

I loved her room tour and that’s it’s real and worked in. My organizational style also is piling and shoving things in where it’s overflowing too. It makes me love her even more!

I was able to clean up my craft room this weekend and found some time to snap a few photos of some recent layouts. Here is one I made for prompt #1 in Shimelle's Use What You Buy: Stamps class. http://instagram.com/p/CqBtIM2OXRq

On the Live (3/20/23) that I watched today, Shimelle was talking about her Layer on Layer on Layer class. I think it's from a few years ago, but I'm not sure.
Has anyone taken this one? It's $35 but Shimelle says it really goes deep into her scrapping process and why (and how) she layers like she does. She said that she actually wrote a lesson plan for it!
I read about it on her website and it looks like there are 30 videos for the class with pdfs for each one.
Thanks!

I believe she writes lesson plans for most of her classes although we don't see them. She goes through lots of different ways of layering in this class, from different types of background papers (scene papers anyone?), paper layers behind a photo, building up layers in your embellishment clusters, and how to include other things into your layers such as stamping or inky backgrounds. She has a section on colour, where across several lessons she focuses on layering using one colour, two colours, three colours, more colours, and another section focusing on types of embellishments. The layouts are mostly single pages, but she does have a few double pages/creates a second page to go with an already created first page, including a pocket page. This class definitely made me more confident in layering papers and building embellishment clusters, as I look through some of the pages I made in class I can totally see my current style in them, and even the ones that are not part of my go to designs still taught me something. Here's a few pages I made from the class lessons that are in my flickr gallery:

I absolutely love all for examples you posted, Chinagirl828! And that sounds like a very informative class too... I will keep an eye out for any deals surrounding that class in the future. I have enough to keep me occupied for now, but I do really like those layouts! Sometimes being in the freezer is not fun, ha! 😁

Thank you for sharing, Chinagirl828! Your layouts are really beautiful. I can see Shimelle's layering influence but they don't look at all like they are Shimelle's layouts, if you know what I mean. I can see your own personal style.
I think I will keep an eye on this class to see if it goes on sale. Although I am very impatient and really want to take it now! LOL!

For anyone who signed up for the sticker class--can you see the forum yet, even if it's empty? It's not showing in my forum list, so I don't know if it's an issue I need to contact her about or not, since I paid a week ago.
