Happy Scrappy weekend Dee-vas! I have a few days off and not too many "must do" plans - just some family time, a turkey, and normal chores. I crossed many off my list today (like FINDING a turkey) so I hope to have scrappy time over the next few days. I dropped into my LSS today: The new Vicky Boutin mixed-media paper pad was calling my name, and since that's "all" I was buying I added a couple of distress oxide colours (ones I have in regular distress pads, but not oxide, and they are favourites). I also got my SB.com order in the mail - it was over $90 Cdn, but didn't get caught for taxes/customs at the border I had to buy new cutting pads for my gemini jr before Christmas card making erupts, and couldn't find them anywhere in Canada. So of course I added other things to that order - I caved and ordered the "domed" foam pads for inks - i have the brushes for stenciling, but like how the foam applicators put down a heavier ink layer for some things, and I'm out of the flat foam pads. Anyone else planning to scrap this weekend?

Happy 2nd week of the quarter, DEEva’s! And if you are in Canada, Happy Thanksgiving weekend! I have some new questions for ya. 1. What are you most thankful for right now? Family. So much joy watching the grandkids grow and thankful that I am still a big part of their lives, even if we are separated by distance. And for the hobby of scrapbooking that gives me the excuse to relive all the good times I have shared, and experience vicariously the ones I haven't been part of. I am also thankful for my health and mobility and being able to stay in my own home. 2. What are your favourite foods this time of year? I love the comfort foods of home made soups and stews, especially with the root veggies from our garden. Also carrot cake and pumpkin pie. Are you sensing a theme here? 3. Where do you usually scrapbook? In my scraproom at home. But I occasionally move into the dining room to scrap with a friend, or pack it all up and head out to a crop (but only a couple of times a year) 4. What is your favourite scrapbook supply? Right now I am loving inks, cuz they expand my choices for backgrounds and mats. I don't need paper in just the right shade and pattern if I can colour my own. But I really love it all, so any given day I will love something different.

I'm taking a short break from working on organizing stuff in my Kallax unit (new! yay!). We got it just before DD came into town for a very busy long weekend, so I didn't have much time to work on it until today. Organizing that will be a whole 'nother thread, LOL.
Just saw these new questions from a few days ago, so I'll answer.
1. What are you most thankful for right now? Family, my cat, my friends, my health 2. What are your favourite foods this time of year? Apples! Also potatoes and sweet potatoes.
3. Where do you usually scrapbook? In my craft room (which is also my office). Once or twice a year I pack stuff up and go to a local crop, but I have only done this once since March 2020. Not sure whether I'll get back to going regularly or not...I just love scrapping in my craft room where I have everything right at hand.
4. What is your favourite scrapbook supply? Paper!! Second favorite is ink, or maybe punches. (They're #2 and #3, but not always in the same order, LOL!) Next would be my Silhouette, although that's more of a tool, not really a supply.

Oh I hope you find your new Kallax unit really helpful in organizing your crafty playthings, scrappinwithoutpeas. Having a craftroom you love is a real blessing! Thanks for taking on the questions. I just added my points for week one--my resolution is to keep on track with tracking LOL. Just noted that this quarter comments on others' creations are worth 5 points each! Spread the love, Ladies! (and add 'em up, Deeva's )

Happy Saturday everyone!
We finally have fall weather. Cool, crisp, drizzly.
We are going to the fire station open house today then a sensory friendly trick or treat event with our local Autism group.
I hope to work on 2 cards from the Cardtober challenges and a pocket page or 2.
We had to put dd's dog down Thursday. 🥺

((((HUGS)))) pantsonfire for the loss of your dd's furry friend. Glad that your family has options to enjoy the holiday season. The month is half over, and so far, I had not done any of the CARDtober challenges. I actually took on a couple today (#9 and #12). One of those I need for a birthday party I will be heading out to this afternoon. I see Ryann, MDscrapaholic, azcrafty, maribeth and some others have been rockin' CARDtober. How is everyone else doing?

1. What are you most thankful for right now? Family, my job, my health, everything. I have a lot to be thankful for. 2. What are your favorite foods this time of year? Anything homemade. I just made some applesauce bread last week and it's almost gone. Trying to figure out what to make next. It's been in the 70's everyday - I'm waiting for it to get a little cooler and then I wanna make scalloped potatoes!
3. Where do you usually scrapbook? I have part of the family room set up with all my "stuff" so I scrap there. When my granddaughter comes over and wants to play, sometimes we go up to the dining room and do it there.
4. What is your favorite scrapbook supply? Right now, stencils! Especially layered stencils. I'm using them for my cards.

I hope you snapped a pic of the goodies and can share when everyone has received their envelope. I have been spending my scrappy time sorting stuff to take to the crop at the end of the month and playing around with ways to make paper leaves look like the ones we see here in the fall. Made a few cards this weekend.

I cooked up a couple of pumpkins today and am letting them drain overnight a la my dMIL's method. Tomorrow I plan to make a couple of pumpkin loaves to freeze for Christmas, and some pumpkin muffins. Here's my recipe - I use regular or chunky applesauce. APPLESAUCE BRAN BREAD1 stick margarine, softened 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp cloves 3/4 cup sugar Beat until light and fluffy. Add 2 eggs and mix well. Mix in a separate bowl: 1 2/3 cup flour 1 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt Mix together in another bowl: 1 cup applesauce 1 cup 100% Bran cereal Alternately add the two mixtures to the batter until all is mixed, turn batter into a greased bread pan. Bake at 350 for 55-60 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, let cool completely on wire rack, wrap well in foil and refrigerate overnight before slicing. If I want to make two loaves, which I usually do, I double the recipe and use 1 cup regular and 1 cup chunky applesauce. My family loves this and insists I make it often. Care to share your pumpkin recipe? I love pumpkin.

Care to share your pumpkin recipe? I love pumpkin. Here it is. I sometimes bake only the one loaf and add oatmeal ( 1 1/2 cups) and dried cranberries (instead of the cherries) to the second half of the batter to make the muffins. Ryann if you just want the muffins, you can add 3 cups oatmeal early and skip the loaves! Pumpkin Christmas Loaf1. Preheat oven to 325. Spray two pyrex loaf pans with cooking spray. 2. Combine in large mixer bowl, mixing well after each addition: 5 eggs 1 ¼ cup vegetable oil 2 cups mashed fresh pumpkin or 2 cans pumpkin (NOT canned pie filling) 1 can crushed pineapple, drained. 2 cups sugar 2 pkg instant vanilla pudding (4 serving size) 3. Combine in a measuring pitcher, then add to creamed mixture: 2 cups flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 ½ tsp cinnamon 1 tsp ground ginger ½ tsp Allspice ½ tsp mace 1 tsp nutmeg 1/2 tsp salt 2 cups candied mixed red and green cherries 2 cups chopped walnuts or pecans 2 cups raisins 4. Divide batter between the two loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 60 to 75 minutes. 5. Turn oven off, and leave loaves in the oven as it cools for 30 minutes. 6. Cool completely, then either slice and serve with butter, or wrap well and freeze.

Good job on getting all those cards done, MDscrapaholic! My head is full of ideas, and my room is full of supplies, but no Christmas cards, yet. BTW I turned the whole pumpkin loaf recipe into muffins yesterday. Mmmm... We ate some, still have some in the bread box, and froze some for later. Thinking of using my food processor to make some home made applesauce for your loaf recipe! Still working on getting stuff ready for the LSS crop the end of the month. Printed some photos today, but didn't have time to do them all. As I am going through my photos (either printed or on my phone), I am deciding if I am going to pack for the crop or put the page together here. Last crop I completed 30 pages. My goal this time is at least 24, so I need a plan for at least that many. Still have over a week of muddling through like that, but I always seem to get organized in time...

Feel like I am spinning my wheels this morning. Just spent two hours trying to remember how to use my Spellbinders Glimmer System. Lots of trial & error. This time I wrote down some notes to help the process work more smoothly next time I pull it out. And I want to pull it out again b/c I have several plates that would work really well for Christmas cards. But I just tested myself for patience, and I am negative! Oh well, a few points for the team for spending time with my supplies. "Crafting" is not what I would call it, but I am claiming those hours LOL. Please see my post in the Ryley & Co thread. Okay, back to my original channel, sorting stuff to take to the crop next weekend...

Checkin' in before I head off to a three day in person crop. It starts tomorrow late afternoon. My vehicle is packed. I will leave in the morning and print photos before it starts. How are the rest of you doing after the first third of Q4? christinec68 , teacherlisa , Ryann , azcrafty , Chinagirl828 , scrappinwithoutpeas , MDscrapaholic , katiekaty , kitbop , jeremysgirl , scrapmaven , MARIBETHR , gramma , pantsonfire . Another set of questions... 1. Do you make holiday cards? If so, how many? What techniques do you use mostly?2. Have you watched any good tutorials lately? Please share. Could be on card making, but also on scrapbooking or any crafting.3. Do you make holiday gifts? Whatcha workin' on? Any unfinished projects? Any plans to finish them?
1. I make about 100 cards each year. So far this year I have TWO. My go-to technique is Grab, Glue, & Go. I start by collecting or diecutting a bunch of elements and papers. When I am card making I tend to make little scenes with those elements. Sometimes I use inking.
2. None that I can share right now, both purchased classes. I have been rewatching the 2021 cardmaking classes I purchased but never really used. And I have been watching Shimelle's Start with a Sketch page videos.
3. Have two more pages to complete for my family calendar--November and the cover page. The cover will be done this weekend. Hoping to snap a pic on November 11th for the November page. My craftroom is where unfinished projects and things that "look like fun" come to die. The morgue is a set of drawers along one wall. Occasionally I open one...

1. Do you make holiday cards? If so, how many? What techniques do you use mostly? Heaven help me - yes I do. Somewhere between 30 and 300 depending on if I decide to participate in the little Peas card exchange, the big Peas card exchange and Cards for Soldiers
2. Have you watched any good tutorials lately? Please share. Could be on card making, but also on scrapbooking or any crafting. I watch some card making tutorials but rarely follow all the steps. I sort of wander off and my cards usually look nothing like the samples
3. Do you make holiday gifts? Whatcha workin' on? Any unfinished projects? Any plans to finish them? I generally do something for family - aprons, glass blocks, pillows and so on. Also my work team gets a little something every year. This year something from Amazon is looking better than hand made.

Hiya,
Due to some unexpected stuff, I've been unable to sit and play w/my new cricut Joy. I hope to rectify that this weekend and do some holiday cards. If I can manage it I would happily do a Christmas card making class for the residents at mil's assisted living community. The activities director and I have been talking. I have a deluge of Christmas cardstock and accessories. This year If I can manage it I was hoping to give out card sets to family members to use throughout the year. Lofty goals, indeed.
I haven't watched any tutorials apart from using my Joy. It's been years since I've worked w/papercrafts, so I should look for new techniques, but that also means $$$.

1. Do you make holiday cards? If so, how many? What techniques do you use mostly?Yes! I have accumulated a large stash of stamps/dies/embossing folders/stencils for Christmas. Typically I make 1 card design only and everyone gets it. In 2020, I hand-painted them which was a LOT of fun and it is still one of my favourite cards ever, but it didn't use any of my supplies! So in 2021, I created a bunch of different designs to play with all the fun supplies. Problem with this: I don't know which people I sent which card to, and I'd like to duplicate some of them, but I risk sending people a duplicate card that way. D'oh! Today, I splurged and bought ANOTHER card-making stencil - a taylored expressions that creates 3 different layered stencils for a mini-slimline card. I couldn't resist. Typically I make only 30-50 cards. 2. Have you watched any good tutorials lately? Please share. Could be on card making, but also on scrapbooking or any crafting. I just purchased Shimelle's sketch class, and have used one of the sketches already. Enjoying the class a lot! I'm toying with joining the "Online Card Classes" (owned by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner) Holiday Card Class for 2022. I'm going to ask for opinions - if anyone has taken this class in 2021 and was it worth it? 3. Do you make holiday gifts? Whatcha workin' on? Any unfinished projects? Any plans to finish them? I make a calendar every year for my MIL and my Mom. This year, it will just be for my MIL and I purchased the supplies and blank calendar today so I can take the next step of selecting photos. I also typically make work friends a small gift - last year, I made ornaments using pictures of their pets (or blank if they didn't have a pet). They were double sided - this is one side of one: Untitled by kirstendrew, on Flickr This year, I have about 8 mini christmas trees made (using a concord and 9th die) and if I get enough finished I'll give those to my co-workers. AAAAND, of course, I have my Journal your Christmas project. I'm only 4 years behind But I always always keep a daily journal so that I can go back to the old years and have full details on the photos/activities/foods etc. Today I purchased an album for December Daily - the 6x8 Vicki Boutin album for this year. I did not intend to purchase it - they are overpriced, but it was 50% off because the LSS had "sliced" the cover a bit while opening the box. I will just cover the cut with an additional piece of decoration and be happy to have the large-spine 6x8 album!

Hanging in there. Trying to catch up from the past 2 weeks that were busy and emergency events that came up. Going to scrapbook this evening and tomorrow after dd takers her psych 101 test.
1. Do you make holiday cards? If so, how many? What techniques do you use mostly?
Yes! Last year I made 120. This year my goal is 100. This will be for both swaps (round 1 and 2) and family.
2. Have you watched any good tutorials lately? Please share. Could be on card making, but also on scrapbooking or any crafting.
I have been enjoying Sam C UK and Cathy Z a lot lately. Some great tutorials and interactive cards.
3. Do you make holiday gifts? Whatcha workin' on? Any unfinished projects? Any plans to finish them?
No handmade gifts this year BUT dh and I are going to work on some new holiday wood cutouts - Peanuts gang and Grinch for the yard and window. We made a cutout for inside years ago - Charlie Brown with Snoopy and his dog house at Christmas time.

1. Do you make holiday cards? If so, how many? What techniques do you use mostly? Yes, I make holiday cards for friends and family - anywhere from 12-50, depending on whether I'm doing a photo card from Costco for the year as well. (When I do a photo card, I only send handmade cards to a smaller set of friends and family.) I've done various techniques on my handmade cards: sometimes they're all watercolor (1-2 designs with colors varied so they're not identical), sometimes stamped/embossed/inked, sometimes a combo of die cuts and stamped/embossed sentiment. They usually include some sort of shimmer/glitter/sparkle element. I'm still in the process of deciding on this year's design(s), but some will most likely include a bit of Cosmic Shimmer sparkle texture paste.
2. Have you watched any good tutorials lately? Please share. Could be on card making, but also on scrapbooking or any crafting.
I've been watching some watercolor tutorials on holiday themes.
3. Do you make holiday gifts? Whatcha workin' on? Any unfinished projects? Any plans to finish them? I'm cross-stitching an ornament for DGD for her first Christmas! I've also got a set of Christmas quilted placemats cut and stacked, ready to sew (but those are for DH & I). I don't generally make many handmade gifts, except for baked goods (Christmas cookies) that I send to some family members.
Many many unfinished projects await me, LOL - it's just a matter of which ones will get to the top of the stack to be worked on!

Sounds like a fun weekend!!! 1. Do you make holiday cards? If so, how many? What techniques do you use mostly? I do! I will make around 75 cards total this year. I’m about halfway done. No specific techniques. I don’t enjoy making multiples of the same card, so it’s just a random assortment of whatever strikes my fancy. 2. Have you watched any good tutorials lately? Please share. Could be on card making, but also on scrapbooking or any crafting. Not that I can think of. I’ve been watching mostly investment/retirement YT videos when crafting lately. It’s where my brain is right now. 3. Do you make holiday gifts? Whatcha workin' on? Any unfinished projects? Any plans to finish them? No, no holiday gift making. I’m mostly working on the 2peas christmas embellishment swap. Once I’m done with that I’ll finish up the cards. Then I’ll move on to creating for December craft fairs. I love crafting this time of year!

Here’s looking at you grammadee! Can I sneak in your trunk and go with you! Maybe I will actually accomplish something. I seem to have forgotten how to stamp and color and make my dies work! LOL either that or they want to remain on vacation on not return to scrapping duty. Everything I planned out has absolutely been a failur this month! But I am nearing success and may actually get one card completed!
I really hope everyone is enjoying their crafting so far this month. Even though I haven’t really been successful I have enjoyed all the refreshing of old skills. These are things I haven’t really done in a long while!
I have some little goodie bags to fill for Halloween and a file of sucker covers to cut so I plan on working on those later today. At least I haven’t forgotten how to use the cricut!
