Introduce yourself. Tell us what festive events you look forward to—or dread—this time of year.
- Hey everyone. Looking forward to going to the pumpkin patch at a real local farm, having a picnic at Oak Glen during apple season (and riding the slide again), taking the kids to an Autism Halloween event, cooler days/nights, and our Halloween decorations drive. Oh and haunted hayride and some scary movies (Smile and Halloween Ends). And of course the always Halloween spoon themed coffee shop.
Then of course Thanksgiving (hopefully with family this year).
And Christmas time! Decorations, baking, family events, Autism community events, tree farm, etc.
What are your scrappy plans? Is there anything you need a bit of a nudge to get started? Or finished?
- continue to work on the kids pocket page albums and then prep to get previous years in pocket page albums as well.
are you a scrap booker? A card maker? A journaler? What crafty activities do you most enjoy?
- scrapbooker, card maker, mixed media are what I enjoy. Really love pocket page layouts.

Hi, everyone. I like to scrapbook and make pocket pages.
I normally love Halloween but it is my DD birthday, the one that passed away and I'm nervous about how that is going to go for me this year. I plan to bake blueberry muffins as they were her favorite.
And I'm not quite sure what I'm doing for Thanksgiving this year. My mom is going on vacation and my dad is always on vacation over Thanksgiving. And I'm not sure if I will cook or what I will do.
And Christmas I have already said I don't want to host. So I will just be a guest this this. For the very first time, I ordered symphony tickets this year. In the past I've just done one show here and there. Well this year I bought a bunch. And one of them is the holiday concert. And that is the thing I'm most looking forward to this holiday season. I want to do December daily.
November 6th is my stepdaughters baby shower. I'm trying to get a blanket crocheted, as well as a scrapbook album done as gifts. My supplies for the scrapbook came yesterday and I'll be starting on that this weekend. I can't wait. The baby is due January 23rd.
And I have my week in the life stuff too. I finally received all my pictures. And I typed all all my journaling. So maybe once the shower is done, I'll be able to put that together too.
Anyway I joined the team so I could get my creativity flowing. I look forward to seeing what everyone does.

Introduce yourself. Tell us what festive events you look forward to—or dread—this time of year. Hello, I'm looking forward to my favorite holiday, which is Thanksgiving. Fall is my favorite season and I embrace all the fun things that happen at this time of the year. Football, family gatherings, food, baking/cooking, capturing all the holiday memories and scrapping them.
What are your scrappy plans? Is there anything you need a bit of a nudge to get started? Or finished? I need a nudge to just get anything scrappy done! This weekend I'm participating in the Crop & Create Delivered Cardmaking event and am having a blast. Will also do the Holiday event next month. I haven't been very scrappy lately, even with all the great sketches posted here. I'm going to print them off and attempt them later. I'm trying to decide whether to retire or not - it's a big decision and one that can't be made quickly. Decisions, decisions!
Are you a scrap booker? A card maker? A journaler? What crafty activities do you most enjoy? I am all of the above. I've been scrapping since 2000, just started cardmaking about four years ago, and have done several day-by-day journals in the last year or two. I actually like the journaling the best - I get a HS journal book and fill each page, doing at least one photo a day and a recap of what happened, almost like a diary. I have scrapbooks started for all 7 of my grandchildren, and hope to give them all the first one this Christmas. Not sure if I have enough layouts for the younger ones, but I'm going to try!
Hoping everyone on the team has a wonderful end of the year, and am looking forward to seeing all the goodness we make!

jeremysgirl enjoy the live holiday music! I love to watch the conductor and appreciate when they get into the music. And of course the clarinet is my favorite as that was my main instrument. I think baking the muffins is a lovely way to celebrate Esther. ❤

I am going to try a new technique this quarter - coloring my stamped images.
I ordered the Ohuhu brand off of Amazon as they were on sale. I got them this weekend and am excited to try something new.

Let’s party! I am Lisa, from Arizona. I used to be a teacher hence the screen name, but now I am a 911 dispatcherr. I work shift work on rotating days and sometimes have a hard time keeping up with chats etc…but I always love it when I can.
I am looking forward to cooler temps, and the art festivals that brings to our area.
During September I gathered up all my unfinished projects and made some decisions about them. Am I going to finish them. What does that mean for each project. I have plans going forward and am excited to get those finished.
I am a Scrapbooker, a card maker due to guilt/obligation (ha) and have recently started bullet journaling/planning and am obsessed with that. I am also working on several home projects, both in and outside.

Love the name Festive DEE-vas, BTW!
Introduce yourself. Tell us what festive events you look forward to—or dread—this time of year. I love fall, but this fall will be a little busier for me than the past few months have been, as I'll be starting a new job in a few weeks. DH & I also have a couple of short trips planned. (Bad timing - the trips were planned & tickets purchased before the job came through...oh well. I've told them the dates and it will be OK, but not the greatest look to be starting a new job then taking days off right away.) One of the trips will be to visit my Dad (out of state) at the same time that DD1, son-in-law, and my granddaughter will be visiting, so I'll get a mini-visit with them as well. Happy times!
DD2 is coming to visit next week and will be here for my birthday and a niece's wedding (her cousin). That downside of all that is that she will not be traveling out here for Thanksgiving or Christmas (both she and DD1 live in the PNW). She'll spend time with her sister and my granddaughter out there for those holidays and enjoy being the fun & helpful aunt. Which leaves DH & I to celebrate Christmas all on our own - not sure yet whether we'll do anything different. Love Christmas baking (and all holiday eating), and I love visiting with extended family that lives in our area!
Autumn also brings the return of NHL hockey (Let's Go Caps!) and college football (Go Buckeyes!) so I'm always weighing scrap time against sports watching time, LOL.
What are your scrappy plans? Is there anything you need a bit of a nudge to get started? Or finished? Scrappy plans include working on several albums: beach trips, European vacation (have done about 1/2 the trip so far), & another album with current stuff in it. I have several other scrapbook album projects in stages that only need finishing touches to be completed, and my goal is to finish those.
are you a scrap booker? A card maker? A journaler? What crafty activities do you most enjoy? I enjoy scrapbooking & cardmaking. I also love watercolor and stamping (both of those in combination with cardmaking & scrapbooking). As if that weren't enough, I am also learning to draw (to be better at watercolor) and learning to quilt...

Hello everyone. I am improving health wise. There is nothing like going fro 100 % plus to feeling less 20% in the matter of a few days! It’s been a roller coaster for the past two months but I am finally feeling like life is doable again! Am I am very grateful to be here and happy to be among scrappy friends again. I am planning small steps and ssimple projects ( scraproom is upstairs—and can at time be a challenge, some will plan projects in kit fashion!) is it cardtober this year? I would love to participate! If, I will just have to challenge myself to revisit the years past.
This will be my favorite quarter for scrapping and cardmaking! It has all the good candy and for holidays! Yum: October: Halloween & candy; November; Thanksgiving &desserts and Food; December: Christmas&Cookies & Desserts & Homemade Candy & Food! Need I say more???

Thanks grammadee for hosting us this quarter. Introduce yourself. Tell us what festive events you look forward to—or dread—this time of year. What are your scrappy plans? Is there anything you need a bit of a nudge to get started? Or finished? are you a scrap booker? A card maker? A journaler? What crafty activities do you most enjoy Hello Dee-vas! I am a conflicted pea during the Fall. - Yes, I love the colours and the weather. But it's the harbinger of winter...and I could do without winter So I struggle to enjoy fall like I should . - And I love Thanksgiving...but it's too early in Canada! It's next weekend guys!!! We're having family (we think?) so it's gonna get chaotic for a few days. I still haven't bought the turkey. We're often cooking with windows wide open and shorts on because we still get pretty warm weather through October (like into the 70s). - And I adore Christmas...but let's be honest...it's a poop-tonne of work. Yes, that was said in Canadian I love baking and sending out boxes of cookies, but it takes so much of my time. When I try to shorten my baking list, I struggle with which of my favourites to let drop. I definitely need to get going on Christmas cards. I've been making more cards lately. But mainly I'm a scrapbooker and I really love the sketches from sketchtember and want to try them all! I also have 4 December Daily albums that are waiting for me. Pictures printed, journal kept... just need to get my act together. pantsonfire - I hope you will enjoy your alcohol markers! I adore mine and keep adding slowly to my collection. I've been buying refills for the copics that I have, and have supplemented with a few Ohuhu sets for colours and I'm very happy with them. Be warned: the colours on the caps of the Ohuhu markers are NOTHING like the actual colours! Print out a swatch page for yourself. jeremysgirl - {{hugs}} for Halloween and Esther's birthday. It will be hard to enjoy which is really too bad since it was a holiday you connected with. MDscrapaholic - is this your first Crop and Create Cards? I did the last 2, so opted out of this one as I felt I just didn't need more supplies, and I never finished the last event fully. But I sure did think it was worth the money. Let us know your impressions when you are done! scrappinwithoutpeas - good luck with the new job! It sounds like a busy few months for you but full of good stuff. I hope you aren't too tired to enjoy it!

Hey Team!! I can't believe we're up to the fourth quarter already. Tell us what festive events you look forward to—or dread—this time of year.We have a few things on deck over the next few months: - We're going to visit my mother in Florida in 2 weeks and will see some of my extended family as well.
- At the end of the month I am going to my annual scrap retreat. Can not wait for this!!!
- I have 2 shows in November.
- In December, we have annual weekend to a family resort in PA with my sister/family and another family.
- There's a chance my aunt, cousin & her daughter will be in town in December, so I'd see them.
- Plus Christmas and all that comes with that - baking and visiting and so forth.
Neither of us are into Halloween and we don't really do anything for Thanksgiving either. What are your scrappy plans? Is there anything you need a bit of a nudge to get started? Or finished?I have the aforementioned crop to prepare for. I didn't have a chance to work on sketches last month but I printed them out to use when I put together my page kits. I think I want to make Christmas/Holiday cards this year. Maybe, I'll figure something out to bring with me to the crop. Doubtful though. Ha!! I have 3 pages from last quarter that needs journaling that I want to wrap up. And I think I have a couple of unfinished page kits that I should finish up, perhaps at the crop? Are you a scrap booker? A card maker? A journaler? What crafty activities do you most enjoy?I'm primarily a scrapbooker who dabbles in cardmaking. I am trying to learn how to embroider. I have a couple of little kits to play around with.

pantsonfire - it sounds like lots of fun fall stuff for you coming up. Have fun with the coloring. jeremysgirl - it looks like you have a lot of projects planned and the symphony performances should be really enjoyable. Sending gentle hugs for your daughter's birthday. MDscrapaholic - possibly retiring is a big and exciting decision to make. Your journaling process sounds amazing. Good luck finishing your grandchildren's books for Christmas. teacherlisa - have fun finishing your projects!! grammadee - how was the game today? scrappinwithoutpeas - congrats on the new job. It's nice you'll be able to see your father & daughter with her family at the same time. What do you bake for Christmas? katiekaty - oh my goodness, you've had quite the summer of injuries and illness. I am glad you're improving and agree with the holiday treats being something to look forward to and enjoy!! kitbop - I have the same trouble balancing what I want to do for Christmas and what I can reasonably get done. Good luck getting ready for Thanksgiving next week

But I sure did think it was worth the money. Let us know your impressions when you are done! kitbop, it's not my first, it's my fourth event! I did it last fall, the Holiday one last fall, the scrapbook on this spring. They just keep getting better and better! I'm trying to figure out how to save the videos to my YouTube account so I can watch them at any time without searching. Catherine said they will do their in-person crop next year! Unfortunately, it's too far away for me, so I'm thankful they are going to continue to do the virtual events.

Hello everyone - glad to be on the team Introduce yourself Tell us what festive events you look forward to—or dread—this time of year. I am looking forward to NOT doing Holiday Home this year. As many of you know I usually decorate every room which entails taking everything out of the house (including packing up my craft room) so that only Christmas shows. This takes two months to put up (working each weekend 10-12 hours a day) and three months to take down. This year I am keeping it simple with just a tree. What are your scrappy plans? Is there anything you need a bit of a nudge to get started? Or finished? I am hoping to have a peaceful scrappy season since (as above) I am not doing Holiday Home. I hope to "enjoy" my crafting time a little more this quarter rather than feeling rushed just to earn points - still hope I help the team win.are you a scrap booker? A card maker? A journaler? What crafty activities do you most enjoy? I am a scrap booker, card maker, ATC maker, and I like to make home dec projects using paper and mix media techniques and I like making little crafty works of art using my stamps, dies, papers etc.I have enjoyed reading the posts from MDscrapaholic, pantsonfire, christinec68, kitbop, katiekaty, scrappinwithoutpeas, grammadee, teacherlisa, jeremysgirl. Hope everyone has a great quarter 4 celebrating the upcoming holidays with friends and family and getting a little crafty as well.

scrappinwithoutpeas - congrats on the new job. It's nice you'll be able to see your father & daughter with her family at the same time. What do you bake for Christmas? Thank you! Cookies - I mostly bake all sorts of cookies for Christmas. I usually send some out to long-distance family members and exchange with neighbors and nearby family. I also usually bake some sort of yeast breakfast rolls for Christmas morning - either cinnamon sticky buns or orange cranberry buns. For Thanksgiving, I am a pie baker - pecan, pumpkin, apple, etc.

Fall is my favorite season and I embrace all the fun things that happen at this time of the year. Fall is my very favorite season too. I find it so beautiful when the leaves turn. I think baking the muffins is a lovely way to celebrate Esther. ❤ Esther wasn't much for cake but she really loved my blueberry muffins. I feel like I should make them for her birthday. I am going to try a new technique this quarter - coloring my stamped images. What kind of ink do you use for the stamped image when you are coloring the image? I normally use Distress inks/oxides and I would think they would bleed. Hello everyone. I am improving health wise. jeremysgirl I have a black stayz-on ink pad. I heard you need to let the image dry for 5-10 minutes before coloring. Right now I am just coloring diecuts or things I draw. 50/50 on if this is something I will want to keep doing. I honestly feel like I am coloring with regular markers and haven't been happy with the results. The shadows look crappy and when I use the blending tool, it takes away the ink and I get streaks. And the medium seems to bleed into the light too much. I watched a lot of videos yesterday and followed along so not sure if it is my stroke or the paper or what. But I figure maybe just one color when I stamp.

Hiya peas! Introduce yourself. Tell us what festive events you look forward to—or dread—this time of year. I enjoy christmas and halloween. Don't care much for fall, or fall themed crafting supplies. What are your scrappy plans? Is there anything you need a bit of a nudge to get started? Or finished?I'm participating in the halloween 2peas card exchange so I'll be working on that first. Once complete I'd like to scrapbook the few fall/halloween photos I have while the supplies are out. Then I'll move onto christmas - both with scrapbooking and card making. Are you a scrap booker? A card maker? A journaler? What crafty activities do you most enjoy?I mostly scrapbook, but I think 2022 is the year I officially got back into card making. I'm still staying away from stamping (and sometimes have to remind myself of this when shopping, lol). I also really enjoy making mini albums and doing hand stitching on felt.

I am so glad you are having a great party here! I drove home from Calgary today (5 1/2 hour drive with a stop in the middle for lunch and Costco) so I am kinda brain dead. I really will read and respond to everyone by end of day tomorrow! In the mean time, ya wanna badge? AussieMeg made us the cool one you see at the bottom of my post. All you need to do is right click on my badge, then go to Profile and click on Edit profile and then Personal. Scroll down to signature. Paste the image link you copied, and then do the following: 1. right in front of the link, type in [ then img then ] with no spaces . 2. at the end of the last word in the address, type [ followed by /img and then ]. No spaces. This will do in your signature what highlighting an image link and clicking the picture button will do in a message. Good luck! Let me know if you are having any trouble adding the badge to your siggy.

Look at all you partiers, havin' a good time while I was off doing some grandparenting! I love it! Then of course Thanksgiving (hopefully with family this year). Our Thanksgiving is this upcoming weekend. One of the things about having a large family spread so far apart is we don't often get all together. I have learned to be happy with having just one of the families here at the farm, and dd and her dh & ds will be here for turkey and all the trimmings this upcoming Sunday. I normally love Halloween but it is my DD birthday, the one that passed away and I'm nervous about how that is going to go for me this year. I plan to bake blueberry muffins as they were her favorite. (((((HUGS))))) to you. The special days are always the hardest when we are dealing with loss. I hope you can find a smile remembering her Halloween birthday joy. And when you bite into one of those muffins you will feel her love of you. November 6th is my stepdaughters baby shower. I'm trying to get a blanket crocheted, as well as a scrapbook album done as gifts. My supplies for the scrapbook came yesterday and I'll be starting on that this weekend. I can't wait. The baby is due January 23rd. So exciting! A new baby is the BEST!!! I am jealous that you can create something as special as a crocheted baby blanket. I know how much I dreamed of my yet to be born grandbabies while I put together their baby books while I waited. My youngest--and last--is now 7 years old. I miss those baby years. Ha ha! They are MUCH easier when you are the grandparent! I wish we had more fall activities around here, but our season is way too short to host many of them. People are usually busy harvesting and getting their kids all set up for school and hockey and other winter events. I love baking for Christmas, and spend much of November making Christmas cookies. This week I need to cut up some pumpkins and make some loaves I can freeze and some pies for this upcoming weekend. Mmmm... I love the smell of pumpkin spice! MDscrapaholic love football season too! Bummed about the Chiefs game last week but hopefully they can overtake the Bucs this Sunday night. Michigan plays today. Sorry gals. For me, football is just something that happens between lazy daisy summer and HOCKEY! Have fun watching your teams. Our CFL will be done by the beginning of December. During September I gathered up all my unfinished projects and made some decisions about them. Am I going to finish them. What does that mean for each project. I have plans going forward and am excited to get those finished. What a great idea, to get all your ducks in a row once a year. I tend to be drawn to most recent most exciting things to scrap, and put the more mundane photos aside. I love how you scrap about everyday adventures and comment with so much insight into what you are doing and how you feel and think about them. You have a BUSY season ahead of you. All I can say is drink lots of water and take lots of photos. You can spend a whole year scrapping those photos and reliving your memories of this upcoming quarter! (the water is just to keep you healthy enough to hold the camera ) This will be my favorite quarter for scrapping and cardmaking! It has all the good candy and for holidays! Yum: October: Halloween & candy; November; Thanksgiving &desserts and Food; December: Christmas&Cookies & Desserts & Homemade Candy & Food! Need I say more??? I love candy, too. Too too much LOL! Just bought some Lindor Christmas chocolates yesterday. Any bets on how long those boxes will last me? So glad to see you back here and feeling well enough to contemplate scrapping. Hope your health continues to improve. Hello Dee-vas! I am a conflicted pea during the Fall. Ain't that the truth! I think that scrapbooking is the gift we give ourselves to force us to remember the good stuff that comes out of that work. It also extends the fun rather than the effort. So what if it took weeks of effort to grow that pumpkin and hours of labour to cut it up and cook it to turn it into that pie? If I can get a cool pic of someone happily putting whipped cream on it? That reminds me of the joy and the good times! I think I want to make Christmas/Holiday cards this year. Maybe, I'll figure something out to bring with me to the crop. Doubtful though. Ha!! That was where I started. Began making Christmas cards at a local gathering, and then decided after I did those cards one year that I would make all the other cards I would be giving out the next year. Sounds like you have a busy season coming up, too. Fall crops are so much fun! And see my earlier advice to look after yourself and take lots of pic's as you enjoy all the other activities this fall. Changing traditions is hard. I hope you scrap about your Christmas House, this change, and how you feel about it. HINT: take a look at this month's DONNA challenge. I know you love points and that would earn you a truckload of them! I mostly scrapbook, but I think 2022 is the year I officially got back into card making. I'm still staying away from stamping (and sometimes have to remind myself of this when shopping, lol). I also really enjoy making mini albums and doing hand stitching on felt. I love the LOOK of stitched items and mini albums and stamping on cards and pages, but I don't DO any of that very often if at all. You make such gorgeous pages and I look forward to seeing more of them this quarter, and your cards! Time to answer my own questions: Introduce yourself. Tell us what festive events you look forward to—or dread—this time of year.
I live in northeastern Alberta on a farm, although the only remotely farming thing we do is the vegetable garden each year. Dh & I have four adult "kids" who have gifted us with eleven wonderful grandkids, aged 7 through 23. Those are the people whose adventures I scrap most of the time. I love Christmas, and my stash of holiday decorations and wrapping paper and scrapbook supplies would attest to that. For me, Halloween has always been a fun kids' activity and I scrap the photos I get of them in costume. Gave them all pumpkins from the garden this year so am hoping to get some carving pic's to scrap. I dread the loss of the light and the leaves this time of year. I love the fall colours, but they last such a short time. I try to get as many outdoor shots as I can so I can keep the rich colours close longer--and use some of the fun fall papers . What are your scrappy plans? Is there anything you need a bit of a nudge to get started? Or finished?
I am working on getting my summer 2022 photos scrapped, and am just starting my Fall album (ordered one from Amazon that should arrive later this week). And this past weekend I snapped a bunch of pic's of cousins together and kids out in the leaves, so I am excited to scrap those. Also got some good hockey pic's of my dgd's tournament, and ddil shared some back to school pic's. I have October and November to complete for the family calendar I put together for everyone each Christmas. (One of those fall pic's will be heading for that October page, I think). As for plans, I am registered in a weekend crop the end of this month, so hoping to get a bunch of pages together, there. Looking forward to that. I have not started on Christmas cards, so have that to look forward to as well this quarter, and might get a start at the crop. I also usually host a card making day here at the house in November. Before Christmas, I also need to create a shadow box for my ddil who's horse died suddenly and she wants something to remember her by. This is going to be fairly deep and large as it needs to include her rope halter and three 5x7 photos. are you a scrap booker? A card maker? A journaler? What crafty activities do you most enjoy? I am a messy scrapbooker and card maker. I like to play with paper. I like to try new techniques with inks and colours, but I am no artist. Looking forward to a fun and creative quarter. Party on, DEEva's!

Quick reminder to get your challenges posted HERE. There are alot of good ones there already, but if you need a little extra motivation, this might be the way to help get those scrappy projects finished. And another quick reminder to keep track as you go of things like hours spent crafting, days with no spend, $ you spent. Last quarter I totaled my points every week or two and it really helped when I got to the wrap up.
