Happy Cardtober everyone! I'm your host for Mondays; shoutout to grammadee for getting us organized. The master Cardtober thread, along with info on how to find scoring details if you're playing for points can be found here. If you're anything like me, you have a whole lot of stamps (and other supplies) that you just HAD to have... and you still haven't touched them. So, this is a challenge to help you bring those supplies to life. Simply make a card with a stamp set* that has not yet seen ink. The stamps can be out of the original package, but the entire set should be unused. You can use one stamp from the set, or all-- whatever makes sense. For the twist: also use a sketch or similar inspiration piece that you have downloaded/saved for creating your card. (I usually save cards I like from instagram-- I find it easier to work from a completed card than just a sketch.) This is the card I created for this week, with a Stampin' Up set from at least last year for the pumpkin. *If you are a scrapbooker and want to play along, I recommend substituting something like "Your college freshman's kindergarten graduation pictures that you printed or never scrapped" or "Christmas 2018." Digital scrappers, maybe use a digital kit or components you downloaded a long time ago but haven't used yet. Project Lifers-- same with the photos, or perhaps a pack of PL cards.

Thank you Eddie-n-HarleyThe hedgehog is a wooden stamp I've had for ages and never used - the sentiment is from a clear stamp set that has also never been used. I don't have any card sketches/samples saved really so I used your sample for inspiration. Not sure that'll count for the twist though.

Great use of scraps. Thanks for bringing your cute little hedgie to life!

Thank you - I seem to have several unused hedgie stamps and dies...perhaps I'll manage to use another one this Cardtober as well.

I’m not really able to play along this month but I snuck in some time and used a brand new stamp and die set I was given. Only the top left is finished, I’m still playing around with some variations, but I think I will make a whole lot of these. The oak leaf is stamped on patterned paper. I love this challenge. Who among this group doesn’t have unused stamps, dies, etc. Everyone’s autumn cards are lovely. We don’t see many fall colors in my part of Texas, but I love autumn. It’s my favorite season.

Those are great cards, love the large focal, and the unique colors. Thanks I realized recently that I don't have to use realistic colors I dislike (browns) if I don't want to! In my world happy little trees can be any color they want to be.

Thank you for the challenge Eddie-n-Harley . Your paper is cute and your pumpkin punched from paper with shiny highlights is a nice touch. Linda , how adorable are your little hedgehogs?! Your paper is cute too. joblackford loving your fresh colors and your stamped on pattern leaves on top of your varied backgrounds. This is from a Stampin' Up set I got but didn't crack open yet. The card designer (found by Googling) is Amy Koenders. Thanks for getting me to open up my stamp set!

Here is my submission for the challenge, never used this dear stamp from Festive Post Stampin UP and used the twist basing on the sketch shown. Also, not a part of the challenge but I was able to use the scraps from challenge 2 cards for this set as well.

MARIBETHR very deer cards. Get it? I've seen and admired those Stampin' Up deer somewhere - it is so good to see it used effectively. Thanks for including the sketch - that could come in handy some day.

@eddie-n-harley this is a great challenge and kind of hard for me! I have one stamp set I have never used right now and I have almost given it away a few times. It is Bo Bunny "Jars of Love". I thought the mason jars and the button stamps were so cute, but I never had any good ideas for using it. I will try and find a sketch to use. I love your pumpkin! So pretty. linda, what a great hedgehog! He's a cutie-I'm excited about my hedgehog stamp in the mail! joblackford, what pretty, peaceful cards you made. I love the big leaf! jjpeapea, cute snow man, and I really like the font on the sentiment. MARIBETHR, great use of the deer as the focal point, wonderful holiday card.

This was a great challenge! I decided I LOATHE the jars with the buttons, they don't even make sense. Bleech. BUT! I filled the jars with little lemons and am really happy with these. http://instagram.com/p/CjixTuGAxm0

So many beautiful cards! I'll have to come back to leave some love . I am playing catch up today and running out of steam . jjpeapea used a PP kit at one of the challenges and she inspired me to use one of my unused one-thank you! Stamps never been used and followed the sketch/ directions to put them together. I usually come up with my own designs. I did had to add some Stickles for some sparkle. I’m trying to play catch up, too. We didn’t get back from our trip till Oct. 6th, due to the hurricane, and I came home sick. I’m still sick, so catching up is slow. I appreciate all the wonderful cards already shared. Here is mine for using a stamp set that has never been used before: I should have stamped in a darker ink, but other than that, he’s such a cute little porcupine.

azcrafty, those kits yield nice results, don't they? Beautiful work. I have one more PP in storage, so who knows there are 14 days of CARDtober left. scrapnnana sorry to hear you are sick! There's something going around the school where I volunteer. Coughs and sniffles mostly. Oh my gosh is your porcupine cute. Like I just want to hug him and comfort him, even if he is prickly! Your paper is gorgeous and your stitching makes it all look so polished.

Eddie-n-Harley, your card is very pretty. I love the gold embossing on that pumpkin against the dark blue ink. Gorgeous. Beautiful patterned paper too. Lovely card. Thank you for the challenge and for hosting us. Linda, you have the prettiest Fall papers. I need to invest in more. That hedgehog is the cutest stamp. You did a beautiful job coloring him. Such sweet cards! I love them. joblackford, I love that stamp and the way you have used it. The background swirls are such a beautiful touch. You have love in the gallery. jjpeapea, your card is so cute. I love your little snowman. The snowflake frame is perfect. Is it a die or are the snowflakes individually cut? It makes such a wonderful winter scene! MARIBETHR, your deer stamp is so dainty and pretty. I love the embossed background. You have love in your gallery. kmage, I love your lemon jars! The background paper with lemons makes this such a classy card. I didn’t even notice the buttons, just thought the cards are so bright and pretty. Love, love, love the sentiments. azcrafty, your floral cards are amazing. I love the inking behind the florals and the depth that it adds. You have love in the gallery. scrapnnana, that is the sweetest little porcupine! He is adorable. I love the shape of the stamped image and your patterned paper is so pretty. All the stitching really adds class to your card. Lovely. I’m sorry you have been sick. I hope you are feeling better. I am going to be out of room in my Flickr album soon so I am doubling up on cards. The 2nd card is the one for this challenge. I have had this stamp for ages, but just never used it. I’m not much of a stamper. I used a Pinterest sketch for my card. Cardtober #7 and #3

I used that same unused stamp set again today I'm not playing for points but I thought I'd share anyway. I tried using it differently with vellum and a plaid background and I turned the leaf around. Oak plaid card by jo.blackford, on Flickr
