So just curious. Are they not worried about people scanning one sheet of cardstock and bagging three or four? (or any small item, really?). Seems like counting the paper I have already counted is what takes most of the cashier's time when I am checking out of M's. As someone who works at a grocery store, I hate self checkout. My manager hates it. There's lots of stealing going on. Yet we have ONE person to keep an eye on 8 of them. Though it is 15 and under items and no carts. Which leads to people wanting in with carts and some of those carts have way more than 15 items. We probably don't catch even half the stealing going on. My co worker yesterday watched as someone bagged $25 dollars of meat. She went up to the customer and said You forgot to scan your meat in. The customer then scanned their meat in.

I went today. Walked out with nothing. Observations: - No self-check out.
- Planner section dwindled a little. We used to have a whole long row full of planner stuff on an outside aisle. Now it moved in and only about 2/3 of the row. Maybe half.
- The outside aisle is now full of scrapbooks. Mostly the postbound 12x12 kind. Tons of them. All different designs.
- It's November already. The Xmas section made it seem more like July. There was tons of holiday stuff. Every shelf was full.

I went on Saturday and my Michael's had 3 self checkouts!! I was so happy to see them. Had no problem using them and easily scanned my phone for my rewards and coupon.
