stamping platform anywhere anymore? I googled it, but didn’t see anything. I would so much rather have that than the small because I’d only use it for scrapbook pages. If not, I just won’t get a platform because I’d have to stamp on smaller paper, then cut it out, which I could just do with a stamping block.
Thanks!

I ordered mine from the UK back when the lawsuit drama started, I think. Actually I think I got the small one that way after buying the big one locally before the drama. I remember it costing a fortune for shipping but being worth it. But anyway, I would suggest shopping a UK or Euro site or maybe eBay. The exchange rate will be a lot better now than back when I bought it.

What size is the large one? The stamping area is about 8.5” x 8.5”

I got mine from Amazon during lockdown, for about $45 or so, including shipping from the UK (like the link above). It’s a great size (8.5x8.5 inches), and I like the fact that two of the sides don’t have rails, so you can stamp on larger sizes of paper if needed.

I looked at that one. Is that the big one? I thought he had one that was big enough for 12x12. This one is smaller than that.

I looked at that one. Is that the big one? I thought he had one that was big enough for 12x12. This one is smaller than that. It is big enough for a 12 x 12 in that one side and the bottom are left open, with no kind of ledge or anything, so that a larger piece of paper can be used. I'm pretty sure the platform itself is not 12 x 12.

I think “big” is just how it’s casually referred to. A smaller travel sized platform was manufactured later. If you fast forward to 8:35 in the video on Tim’s blog, below, he’s demoing using 12x12. And youtube reviews are out there too. Hope this helps! timholtz.com/the-stamp-platform/

I have it, and it's not large enough to stamp slimline card size stamps from pink fresh. This is a BUMMER!
But my LSS owner gave me a tip: use a cutting plate for your die cut platform (like a gemini plate or bigshot plate) and use it like you would an acrylic block. Although I'd like to use my stamping platform for these stamps, I only own 2 of them, so it's not a huge deal.

Tonic/Tim Holtz stamp platforms & accessories cannot be sold via retailers in North & South Americas, per the settlement between Tonic Studios & MSP in 2018 (ETA: discussed here). They are only available via resale markets &/or retailers based in Europe & Asia. To my knowledge, only the WRMK 12x12 Precision Press fits an entire 12x12 sheet which I, who exclusively incorporates stamping into scrapping (typically words, icons, etc.), recommend. HTH.

If you plan to use it for scrapbooking, the one by Stampin’ Up is designed for scrapbooking, not just card making. And it’s great for layered stamps, stamping a pattern or border on a page, etc. The smaller stamp platforms are big enough for stamping on layouts, because they are open on two sides. Can you stamp the entire page at once? No. But even if the platform is big enough to stamp a 12x12 page, stamps big enough to stamp a background in one go are rare, if they even exist (probably very expensive if they do). The plates attach to two sides.
I bought the SU one for stamping backgrounds, borders, etc., on my pages.

I have a bit of a collection of stamp press tools - everything except the Misti, it seems. And if I had to get rid off all of them and keep only one, the Stamparatus is the one I'd keep. Not because I'm any kind of SU fangirl, because I'm not. But with this tool, it seems that they stayed back, looked at what everyone else was coming out with, took the best of all of it and created a great tool.

Thanks, y’all! I was able to find one from a fellow pea.
Thanks for all the help! 🤗
I see there are a couple of new ones out (or coming in the future) from Sizzix and Altenew. I’m not a huge stamper, but the Sizzix one also helps hold stencils! Interesting. I’ll have to see what people think of those.

It is 9x14 so easier for those who do 12x12 layouts. So far it seems there are no edges like on the TH platform (I have his).
