I have both but like my TH much better. It is much sturdier. I can't believe they agreed to this. Such a sad day.

What?! Wow, I didn't expect that. Maybe Tonic decided the continued sales revenue wouldn't exceed the cost of continuing the fight. I wonder what will happen to the other platforms on the market.

“As part of a larger agreement that anticipates an ongoing business relationship between the two companies,”
Do you think Tonic may be taking over production in the future?

Wow, this is surprising. What is even more surprising is that anyone in the craft industry still supports her.

Gag. I wish I would have bought the travel one. I’ll stamp with stamping blocks before I’ll give that woman a dime of my money.
And they turned off comments on a FB group I’m in. Her fans are rabid.

I got a travel platform on amazon just now for about $20. I already paid through the nose to get the original UK one at the beginning of the lawsuit.
Thanks for the heads-up on this. I'm surprised that this is how it worked out - I wonder what agreement they came to... ?

So, are they working on new models or not? I'm not even really concerned by this since I'm in Europe but I'm curious. My brain is already telling me stock up, get another just in case... At least we know now that Tonic Studios did not have the money to pay My Not-So-Sweet Petunia off which is what several of us had speculated. They probably settled for (muy expensive) damages + pattern region restriction for further stock. Ugh. Ugh. Triple ugh. I still can't believe they managed to get the MISTI patented.

I wonder if that's what's happening-Tonic is planning upgrades with new model numbers so they aren't really giving anything up.Someone on the MISTI lawsuit thread also mentioned the possibility. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that the Stampin Up Stamparatus was developed with Tonic, since the hinge mechanism looks so similar; maybe they have more upgrades in the pipeline.

Does AliExpresssell a knock off MISTI? If so, I’d buy and promote that purchase all over the internet.

There's also the cheap-ish Indian stamp platform that is very much like the MISTI and WRMK Precision Press. Forgot the name now...

Even with shipping added on, the Stamparatus from Stampin Up is less expensive than a MISTI with free shipping. Not by a lot, but when you consider that you'd be buying from a company that has a great reputation for replacing defective items (not a fan of the MLM aspect, but . . .) AND you can stamp on any size backing AND you get the double stamping plates, it makes the Stamparatus look even more attractive. Disclaimer - I'm not affiliated with SU; my demo quit a couple of years ago and I haven't felt a need to find another. But if I didn't already own my Tim Holtz platform AND the one that Hampton Arts came out with before Foul Petunia started with the lawsuits AND the one that I made myself for an hour or so of my time and about $3 in materials, I'd be all over the Stamparatus.

Local Hobby Lobby still had the TH large one in stock, in store this morning. Works out to $25ish with tax after 40% coupon. The Hampton Arts one disappeared from Michaels IMMEDIATELY after they were pulled.

The Hampton Arts one disappeared from Michaels IMMEDIATELY after they were pulled. Just received an e-mail from Marco Paper that they will continue to sell them as long as their suppliers have stock. I'm thinking that the terms of the settlement are that any that are already out there can still be sold. When the Hampton Arts one was pulled, they were responding to the threat of being sued unless they stopped selling immediately, so they recalled them from stores that already had them.

My thoughts exactly. I am so glad I got a TH platform, and sick to my stomach that he had to cave to this horrid woman.

I wonder what the "ongoing business relationship" will be. Maybe Tonic will take over the manufacture of the MISTI. I have to think that a big company like Tonic would agree to this settlement without getting something in return.

I have to think that a big company like Tonic would agree to this settlement without getting something in return. While this would be a logical out come I don't think petunia would buy it. I get a control freak vibe from her comments, and actions. She could have just let her product speak for itself and see what buyers wanted, make adjustments in response. Instead she is trying for a monopoly. Her shitty behavior inspired many other companies to create awesome products that went around the few things she could (for some reason) patent. Tonic will come out ahead of this, with many loyal fans supporting them while MSP has tarnished herself and become pretty infamous. If there is a combined product I see many people, myself included, not buying it on principal.

Can’t believe this. So disappointed for everyone in those markets who won’t get it now. My TH platform is so much sturdier and better quality than the Misti (which I don’t own - I have one of the exact ‘knockoffs’ but never use it any more).
I’m in Australia but might now get a travel platform just to prove a point!

Not what I was expecting at all. At first I thought the judge dismissed it because it was so frivolous. I am using my TH which I think will last a long time. I bought up a couple WRMK Advanced positioners and a bunch of extra plates in case the Petunia comes after them next. I really like it as well as the TH and the price is very reasonable at Joann and Michaels on sale or with a coupon. I like that it doesn’t have bumpers. Thought I would dislike the peg thing but I don’t. If you can’t get a TH you might consider that one. There is no way I would ever buy another Misti or any product associated with this company. Way overpriced given that it’s now made in China. If Tonic teams with her I’m out on whatever they come up with.

I’m in Australia but might now get a travel platform just to prove a point! Same. I'm in Europe and just purchased the last Travel Stamp Platform amazon.fr had in stock. 21-ish € well spent even if just to support Tonic Studios and Tim Holtz in this disgraceful affair.

I have to think that a big company like Tonic would agree to this settlement without getting something in return. I've got a sneaky feeling they have offered to take over manufacturing too... We'll see! But if they do, the MISTI is going to get considerably better just because of the choice of materials by Tonic Studios.

Glad I read this. I am new to platforms and saw Joann has them, so I've ordered both!
