I like unique baby names (all my kids have unique names!) so I think this is cute but was curious what others think.
The name is Wesleigh Drake “Smith” Newborn baby girl. 💕
I think this child might have some challenges with that name, but it’s cute at face value. Cute as heck.
Just wondering WWTPT

I think she will be mistaken for a male all her life. Whether or not that's a problem for her I have no idea. Will she have a nickname?
Is she named for someone or combined name with parents or something? Like any name people who know her will come to think it's perfect

Honestly it sounds more like a name for a boy.

She is going to have lifelong issues with people thinking she is male- both first and middle name.

I actually like boy names for girls so I don’t mind this one. I don’t love it but it’s not bad.

I think the spelling makes it more of a girl’s name. And there are lots of traditional boy’s names that make the transition to girl’s names. When my daughter was born 20 years ago, Quinn was traditionally a boy’s name. Now almost no one would think that.
That said, I don’t like the spelling. Or the look of it - it’s long or unbalanced or something. But I like the name.

I think it's cute! I would know that Wesleigh was a girls name by the way Leigh is spelled.

^^^ I was thinking the same thing about the spelling makes it seem like more of a girls name.
But in general I feel like the lines between boy and girl names are blurred and that it’s not that big a deal anymore.

It’s “younique”😉. But I don’t think it crosses into the weird name category. I’m sure it will be a name that anyone who is iffy about will grow on them.

To be fair, I work with kids who have what would seem a different gendered name and no one even blinks an eye. With the "Leigh" part of the name, I can totally see that as a visual cue that she will be a girl. I don't think most people will think it odd by the time she heads to school.
I guess names don't really phase me too much anymore.

Even when we spell it, people still get it wrong. DS has the common spelling of his name and people always try to give it an alternate spelling or they call him by a similar name. It's exhausting. Oh, to be Jennifer Smith...

I think that Drake in combo with Wesleigh makes it feel more male. It's not my style, but babies are a blessing

The name is fine, and I don't have any problem with boy names for girls, but the spelling would drive me nuts. She is constantly going to have to spell it for people.
I don't like Drake though. Not for boys or girls. I think with her having a typically masculine name her parents should have opted for a more feminine name for her middle name. She may hate being an adult and having people assuming she is a man based on her name. It would have been nice for her to have a middle name that she could use in that case.
This is not a terrible name by any starch of the imagination, but I don't love it either.

My niece’s daughter just named her daughter Miller Elizabeth. Last names as first names must be the new thing. My niece just names her baby boy Jones Stanley.

I'm a solid no. The poor girl will forever have to spell her name for everyone and in the classroom when there's a new teacher or a sub, that person will be looking for a male not a female. Middle name of Drake is FOR SURE a male name. Hopefully she will go by Leigh as her nickname.
That said- my son is the #10 most popular male baby name for the year he was born- name was picked before we looked it up. It's spelled normally and no one ever can't pronounce it. His nickname is a derivative of his first name and again, easy to spell. His middle name is Lewis just like his dad and his grandfather and his great grandfather and his great great grandfather. My daughter's name is not in the top 150 for her birth year- name was picked before we looked. Her nickname is never spelled correctly but again, no mistake in the spelling of her first name. Her middle name is Anne ("Ann with an e") after my mom's middle name and my mom said that people will forever forget the e. Oh well, how often is a middle name used?

I like Wesleigh for a girl. I’m not a big fan of Drake for either gender I was trying to think of how to phrase my answer and this really says it for me. So... ditto. My niece’s daughter just named her daughter Miller Elizabeth. A cousin named her daughter Miller Jane LastName and she goes by that double name. I really like it.

I think it’s an adorable name, regardless of the gender.
I have a “boy” name, and it’s also spelled in a way that makes it seem like it’s pronounced differently than it actually is. In the grand scheme of things, not that big of a deal, and it wasn’t when I was kid, either.

I teach junior high in a very multicultural school ... that name is easy peasy for me compared to some I deal with ... Mubaligh anyone? I would think she was a boy at first because of the "Drake" ... that becomes no problem after the first couple of days of school when I see her face.

Not my thing, but not horrible either. I think a feminine middle name would help.

I gave my 16yo daughter what has traditionally been a boy’s name, but has had some crossover. She started going by her (definitely feminine) middle name at 14. 😬
I hate kre8v spellings, so the name is an automatic dislike just for that reason. (And, yes, I get the irony, but I think it gives my opinion more weight. 😜) Add in two decidedly masculine names, and it’s a no from me.

I don't like Drake as a girl's middle name, but fortunately for her, my opinion doesn't count!
My mom has a male middle name and was forever having to clear up the confusion when she was in school. The nuns insisted on using the female version. Lol

I hate the creative spelling also. I feel sorry for kids that get saddled with parents trying to be unique and flubbing it from the get go.

Quinn was traditionally a boy’s name. Now almost no one would think that. I have friends with a little boy called Quinn, I'd barely heard of it before ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/grin.jpg.gif) As for the OP - it might be more obviously a girl's name when people see the spelling but that's not always going to happen. Neither name would be my choice ![](https://media.fotki.com/2v2JGmVoCxA5eGL.gif)
