www.washingtonpost.com/politics/interactive/2022/election-deniers-midterms/?itid=hp-top-table-main_p003_f015So far 164 Republican candidates who denied the 2020 election results have won their midterm race
A majority of Republican nominees on the ballot Tuesday for the House, Senate and key statewide offices — 291 in all — have denied or questioned the outcome of the last presidential election, according to a Washington Post analysis. The Post is tracking the outcomes of their contests in real time.
Candidates who deny the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election have secured GOP nominations for state offices where they would gain authority over the voting process in 2024 battleground states. Others, like Blake Masters in Arizona and Sarah Palin in Alaska, are running for the U.S. Senate and House, where they could be in a position to vote to object to the count of electoral votes in January 2025.
Candidates who have challenged or refused to accept President Biden’s victory — 51 percent of the 569 analyzed by The Washington Post — are running in every region of the country and in nearly every state. Republican voters in two states nominated election deniers in all federal and statewide races, The Post examined.
Although some are running in heavily Democratic areas and are expected to lose, most of the election deniers nominated have won: Of the nearly 300 on the ballot, 171 are running where the GOP is favored to win. Another 46 appear on the ballot in tightly contested races.

Maricopa County in Arizona voting has been an utter failure. 20% of voting locations had major tabulator problems. Hundreds of thousands of people came out to vote and many were told that they wouldn't be allowed to vote in person which is a direct violation of law. The woman in charge, the secretary of state, is on the ballot for governor. She refused all opportunities for an open debate with her opponent, and only provided enough ballots for the Republican primary to last the first hour of voting. You are a fucking liar! Stop burping up right wing bullshit. Don’t forget this gem.

I know no one really cares about Washington State, but we have Joe Kent running for our House seat (in the actual district I live in) and he is every bit as delusional and deplorable and conspiracy theory nutty and Trump lovey as MTG. It is a very close race and they haven’t released any new numbers since less then an hour after the polls officially closed last night. What is taking so dang long? This would be a terrible blow for my area if he wins. It was pretty shocking the Democratic incumbent didn’t even end up on the ballot, so fingers crossed the new Democrat somehow wins. This is absolutely not a seat anyone with any sense should want flipped.

When I wrote that post I was scrolling social media and 3 local stations posted on their social media that they were calling the race for Abbott. I have no idea what they were saying on tv because I didn’t have it on, but they almost certainly had called it on their socials. Not that it matters here, but I wasn't on TV, either. Obviously it went to Abbott, so it makes no difference now, just saying that according to the TV that DH was watching and the social media and websites and live streaming I was clicking between, nothing here said that. Different analysts make different calls at different times.

Thank you, today is my day off and I keep checking between doing chores. I really don’t want Kent to win, he was one of the people Trump backed and he is scary, like MTG scary. All the signs I see for Kent here are the same people that have F Biden, Let’s Go Brandon, Trump 2024 flags and signs.

Hopefully good news for Oregon, the local news are saying Kotek (the Democrat) won governor.
I got a little bit of an argument with my cousin-in-law's sister about it. She thinks Kotek is terrible because she has no opinions and no policies. I maintain a Democrat without policies or opinions is better than a Trump loving election denier which is what her opponent was.
Thank goodness, I was very worried about what happened or Republican Governor would mean for the state where I work and most of my family lives.

Really hope so but everything I see on Twitter is it’s still to tight snd may require a recount. I hope he wins and by enough that there isn’t a recount. There was a report that One area that was going toward him had a lot not counted and now they are saying they finished last night and already in the totals.

Dems on 46 with 4 to call- am I right in thinking they lost control of the senate as well? No, they also have 2 Independents that caucus with the Democrats (Bernie Sanders from Vermont and a Angus King from Maine) 4 states left to be called - Alaska, Nevada, Arizona & Georgia (headed to a run-off)

Ugh, AZ is still too close to call for governor, atty general, SOS, and senator, although I really can’t see Mark Kelly losing at this point. Our state could potentially be jacked up beyond all recognition, but at least we’re sending Kelly back to the Senate.
I am so disheartened that these elections are so close. It’s hard not to give up hope.

There are 3 counties that have votes to count and if I do the math and use the percentages of how the counties are currently, I predict Frisch win of 159,587 (50.2%) to 158,024 (49.8%). Come on Adam!

A funny, edited version of McCarthy's speech. The strike throughs didn't copy but the link is a gift article - no paywall. wapo.st/3DUy7T8Hello, enormous crowd of enthusiastic supporters medium-size (and I am being generous!) gaggle of staffers and others who are still here at 2 a.m. after the bar stopped serving! What a night it’s been! An enormous tsunami of red small trickle of red cascading dribbling over the map in an undeniable underwhelming manner! I am pumped! Kevin! The thrill of victory surges through my veins, and I feel more powerful than ever before! Just as I said would happen, just as Elon Musk himself wished, we have gained 60 House seats and are going to offer Americans the clear, inescapable Republican majority they have long been dreaming of! My wish is coming true! That’s my name: Kevin!

New vote count just announced on the Senate race in Nevada.
Catherine Cortez-Masto (D) just closed the gap and is within 800 votes of catching Adam Laxalt (R). The remaining ballots are mostly from Democratic leaning counties (Clark County which is where Las Vegas is located).
This is significant! I've been watching with such bated breath!

Great, sarcastic opinion om the Republican response to losing - raise the voting age. And the flat out refusal of conservatives to look at or modify their platform. Gift article - no paywall wapo.st/3Gc4bVdWhere is the red wave I was promised? This cannot be! Something has gone wrong! These results — something is the matter with them. I would like to speak to an election manager, if one can be found. After this disheartening news, I have been doing a great deal of soul-searching. Not my soul, which is, of course, perfect, but the souls of others. What, for instance, possessed Gen Z to put down their phones and Pokémon-Go-to-the-polls, and — worse yet — to vote for Democrats in substantial numbers when they arrived there?

Laxalt bracing for disappointment in Arizona.. The campaign for the GOP Senate nominee in Nevada is dour as prognosticators expect that the race will imminently be called for Democratic Party incumbent Catherine Cortez Masto. "They say the mood has changed inside the Adam Laxalt campaign, saying that the mood is 'awful' that they are 'shocked' and depressed and that various fractions of the Republican Party are pointing their fingers, saying that their challenger, Democratic incumbent Catherine Cortez Masto could actually take the lead," Flores reported. www.rawstory.com/laxalt-nevada/
