I couldn't sleep the other night and my mind was all over the place, so here's one thing I was thinking about (and am clearly still wondering about) Let's make this thread a no judgement zone please!

I'm fully vaccinated, and was very cautious at the beginning. As cases have lowered around here, I am more moderately cautious. DH and I were both sick with covid for the first time about a month ago, and we both had symptoms for about 3 weeks. No idea where I caught it -- I gave it to DH. I work at home, and really hadn't been out and about much around other people in the 3-5 days prior to getting sick. I had such a miserable cough that just wouldn't go away - I'm pretty sure if I'd caught it pre-vaccine I would have ended up very very sick.

I am not cautious now but was pretty cautious early on. I got Covid in February 2022. Nobody else in my family has had it that we know of and they are not cautious now, either.

I think I have been very cautious as we take care of my 92 year old mom and would hate to take it to her. I believe I got mine from the eye doctor. I had not been anywhere for 8 days, went to the eye doctor, stopped for a drive-thru Starbucks, with masks on, hands and cup sanitized with hand sanitizer and ended up with the yuckies a few days later.

Until I had it in April of '22, I would have checked very cautious. I masked 100% of the time in public and kept my distance except for DH and one other person. After I had it, I was pretty confident that I would be safe from reinfection for a few months, then I had a booster in July. I'm due for my booster now, but we are trying to wrangle the insurance for that (Tricare is a mess for the transition period from active duty to retired.)
Now, I refuse to be around anyone who is obviously sick. DS exposed all of us at Thanksgiving and thankfully no one else got it. Everyone else had been boosted in the last month and I credit that. Poor guy--it was his first time getting it and he felt horrible that he exposed all of us. But he was really grateful that we live nearby and could run him over food and meds.

Never had it that I know of. My last booster was December 2022 (although I do plan to get a booster in January with my second shingles vaccination). I don’t wear a mask and go about my day. I’ve been to the theater but nowhere with more people than that.

Cautious now or 'back then'? I was reasonably cautious then.
I answered for the early days of the virus Now, I barely think about it. Cases are very low and I can't remember the last time I tested myself.
I've had all the recommended jabs and haven't had it as far as I'm aware.

I was so afraid I was going to get it and I had so much to do to get ready for my move. Getting Covid and having to postpone doing so for weeks was just not in my plan so I became very very cautious.
And to this day, I am still using a mask when I go shopping because my doctor’s office requires them to step inside the building. The pharmacy requires them as well, even though they are behind large plates of plexiglass now. I figured that I will continue to use a mask as long as my doctor’s office requires them. Or maybe at least until I am fully finished with the whole moving process when all my furnishings are set up in place and I could afford to kick back for a a couple of weeks to heal.

Why are you working through insurance? You're back in the States, right? Just go to a pharmacy and make an appointment. I haven't paid for any of my covid shots. I don't think any of them have even asked for my insurance card to be honest. Maybe the first set of shots, but after that, nope.

I am fully vaccinated as is my family. We all work in professions where we are around the public. Three of my family members never "shut down" because of their professions. I was only "shut down" until July 2020, and then back out into the public. Thankfully none of us has ever gotten it.

We were very cautious when three of four family members got sick in Jan 2021 (before we were eligible for vaccines).
Since being vaccinated, I've been moderately cautious. Mostly driven by the fact positive tests would derail travel and surgery plans in the past year.
To our shock, DH tested positive last summer (assymtomatic) before visiting my parents. We only tested because her care home was requiring it and are still sick at the thought we would have brought the virus into that environment if they still didn't have a test protocol to visit.

Cases are very low and I can't remember the last time I tested myself. I've had all the recommended jabs and haven't had it as far as I'm aware. I guess in a more general sense. For instance, the first year prior to the vaccination I was very cautious. When Delta, and the Omicron reared their ugly heads I became more cautious for a period of time. I'd now consider myself moderately cautious. I'll wear a mask is when I'm at a show, on a plane, or other places I'll be seated elbow to elbow with strangers for a decent period of time. Otherwise, I don't generally mask up. I still test if I'm sick for a number of days, and a Thanksgiving guest tested (not at my request) when she was under the weather with a fever the day beforehand. So my answer would be in the moderate category.

Or just show up at a pharmacy mid-week during a quiet time of day and you'll be good to go.

I’ve not had it - I feel I was very cautious in the beginning but am now not really cautious at all. I basically carry in as normal.

I have to be very cautious because if I get sick I will not be allowed in the nursing home where my husband is a resident. I only go anywhere that is absolutely necessary and am always wearing a N95 mask. I am fully vaccinated and boosted. I have not had Covid. I live alone and almost never see anyone other than the nursing home staff. It sucks but that’s my life and will be for the foreseeable future. Damn Covid (and now flu).

Other! There's always one!
I'm very cautious and I don't know whether I've had it. I had something that may have been Covid in March 2020, but there were no tests then. I haven't had anything (except cancer and a cold) since. DH had Covid in March 2022 but I didn't get it. I've had 6 vaccines now because of the immunosuppressants I was on.

I picked moderately cautious and never had it.
I think I am “moderate”, someone else may think I am “very” cautious. If I am indoors, sitting in one place for an extended period of time (airplane, theater, etc) I’ll wear a mask. A busy store/place (Target, Walmart, airport, etc), I’ll wear a mask. But we do eat indoors and go to our gym without a mask. We’ve been to parties, and we do travel. And, as I mentioned in another thread, I’ve only had one booster so far.

We never stopped masking, all of us have had full series plus booster plus bivalent, and avoid large crowds. No Covid.

I chose very careful as we were in the beginning but not do much now. I tried to change to moderate but it wouldn’t let me change it. If numbers go up I would mask again when out. I’m still taking advantage of curbside when reasonable. Yes I could use it more but sometimes you just need to look at things in person. We are eating out again. It feels good to do normal stuff again. I’m hoping numbers stay down. I know there is a lot of flu out there to and glad that my husband only goes into the office 2 times a week and DS is taking online classes - his choice right now.
None of us have gotten it - DH was tested twice a week up until July or maybe end of July. It’s been nice to not be sick in years.

I've had one booster. Prior to April 2022 I was very cautious because I had a big trip planned and wasn't going to chance getting sick. I wore my mask pretty much everywhere. I stopped wearing it when I got home unless I was in an airport. I plan on going back into a mask after the winter break as I expect a bump in cases and have another trip in March and I would be heartbroken if I had to miss it.

I don't think any of them have even asked for my insurance card to be honest. Maybe the first set of shots, but after that, nope. Interesting. We asked about it at CVS in MN and were told that they had to run it through insurance. DH is especially complicated, as he can't get care at the VA until he retires on January 1. Until then, his official dr is the one he used in Belgium and he can't get any medical care that isn't authorized by his PCM and he can't get an appointment because he isn't in Belgium... We were going to ignore the rules and just get the dang thing as it's mandated by congress for the military, but they said he needs to run it through insurance. And the only insurance he has is through the military. Maybe it's just a CVS thing?

I was very cautious for the first year and did not get covid.
I had it in October after dining out in a crowded restaurant. Clearly I'm not being as cautious as before. I'm due for the newest booster but waiting until 3 months after having Covid.

None of the poll options really fit for me...
I was very sick (respiratory symptoms, fever, and sore throat) with something early in March 2020 but have never had a confirmed case of COVID - despite close contact at least twice (in December 2020 and September 2022) with my then infected daughters. I am vaccinated (March/April 2021) and boosted once (November 2021).
DH and I were VERY cautious in the beginning but not so much anymore. Still limiting most large group gatherings but we eat out, socialize in small groups, shop, travel, etc. with little to no masking. Probably should get another booster.

I have never been cautious at all.
My household locked down for 2 weeks in March of 2020 and that was it. After that, we saw friends, went to restaurants even before they were “supposed” to reopen. Went to Disney and Universal the second they reopened. Took tons of flights in 2020. Hated masks and only wore them when forced.
No one in my household ever had it. No one in all of my extended family ever had it. I don’t know any friend or acquaintance who died of it or even had a serious case of it.
Now I don’t even think about it except when someone talks about it here 🤷🏻♀️

fully vaccinated, boostered x2, I've worn a mask everytime I've left the house since March 2020, I socially distance, I limit my interactions...
I caught it from DH in October despite sleeping on the couch when he caught the 'flu' (spoiler alert - despite the fact that people at work DID have the flu, he did not, he had covid)

I am in the middle (which is where i usually am lol). In the beginning was cautious, but had to continue to work with outpatient offices and patients. Wore masks when mandated to and in areas requesting they be worn. I have attended concerts, shows. Movies and gotten together with family. I did get both shots and one booster. I have not had COVID at all. I won’t be getting the second or follow up boosters after. I also don’t get the flu shot which I have talked about here before.

I am fully vaccinated and had the latest booster about six weeks ago. I am moderately cautious. I have to wear A mask at my doctors office mammogram etc.
I tested positive for Covid a week ago tomorrow but I had a very very mild case and to be honest with you I wasn’t going test but I had a bad headache and a slight sore throat and was headed to a nail appointment and thought I better at least test. I got the antiviral had a headache for a day and a half, some fatigue, and a little bit of congestion that was it. Tested negative today.
if I was going to be in a huge crowd yes I’d wear a mask but I haven’t done that in a long time. I’m flying to Florida three times over three months and most likely will wear a mask on the plane.

I have been pretty cautious and didn’t get it until last August. I got it just at the end of our vacation and we were around a lot more people and did more activities than we normally did at home. For me it was one day of sore throat and 2 days of a head cold. Took NyQuil for three days and slept a lot and was fine in 3 days, no fever. After that I stopped wearing a mask because after all the boosters it seems like it’s was a cold like any other cold.

Very careful; haven't had it.
My husband was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer a couple of months ago and he basically has no immunity. He's heading toward a stem cell transplant relatively soon (we hope) and if there is anything I can do to keep him from catching even a cold, I'm doing it--masks, boosters, no big crowds, etc.
