The only miss was one of my gifts. I asked for a new return label address stamp, specified I didn’t want it to be round or too big. I got a round one that was way too big for my preferred size of envelopes for thank you cards. Oh well. What if you stamp it on the back flap?

Spiderman blanket and pillow - loved, opened and wrapped up in Nerf guns - really loved and played w immediately Elsa backpack - adored Frozen books - opened and had to read right away Elsa t-shirt- had to put on right away. Lululemon gcs - spent right away on their sale So Comfy - worn all day (he also got a cruise w me in June so just a small gift to open)
All the adults loved their presents as well.
This year I bought each family an address ID cancelation roller stamp. You run it over and it has characters to cancel out addresses, account numbers etc. Everyone thought this was genius.
Everything was epc wins this year.

Santa brought both of my son's carpet cleaners. Kind of funny how excited they were for those.
I also got my youngest 20 pairs of thick black socks with an avocado slicer in between them. He was so excited for both of them. His wife told him they didn't need the avocado slicer, but I knew he really wanted one. My SIL got one for her daughter and her minimalist husband took it and threw it away. There were lots of jokes about the slicer.

Hits: the Mermaid tail I knitted for my granddaughter. We had to stop present giving - she was being Santa’s helper - so she could put it on and swish around in it. The watercolour painting I got for my sister from Munich. When she visited us and we traveled around Europe together 4 years ago, we were trying to find hand painted or crafted scenes everywhere we went, but didn’t get one from Munich, where I live. I found someone in the markets back in November who had some lovely ones, so I bought it for her. Wooden shortbread biscuit stamps for my other sister. She bought a couple on the aforementioned Europe trip, but I was able to find her a couple of different and more generic (not Christmas) ones.

This is a super small thing, but I bought DD a little glass/metal vintage nut grinder that matches the ones my mom and I have. They have to be at least 60 years old. I scored it at a garage sale. She thought I gave her mine. It is similar to this one, but I only paid $3 linkThose are awesome! I have my mom’s which must be at least 70 years old and I just used it again this year because it was quicker to use that to chop the nuts I needed than it would be to take apart and clean my food processor.

We had mostly hits here. DD loved the AirPods she got from Santa as that was at the top of her list, and she also loved the next set of books for the series she is currently reading and the rolling gaming chair to replace the desk chair she killed. DH liked his stuff because he picked it all out and bought it himself and I just intercepted it and wrapped it up. I got the Ninja XL food processor I was eyeballing after learning it can mix 3 lbs of dough in 30 seconds, and a Sawgrass SG500 sublimation printer.
About the only miss was the set of hot pads and long silicone mitts I gave DH for using with his pellet grill because he always complains that my mini mitts are too small. He said these ones were also too small and to return them. 🫤 I don’t think I will though because they’re heat rated up to 500° and I can use them and the silicone trivet myself when I heat press stuff for sublimation.

We did generally well - but I accidentally bought my daughter's fiance a woman's shirt from Madewell. That was dumb. BUT, in my defense? It was in the men's section of the store!!! I bought my son a women's t-shirt last Christmas. He gave it to his then-gf. Our only miss was the UNO game that I gave said ds. He already has 2. hehe. I offered to replace it w/something else, but apparently, he said he'll just start an UNO collection.
The big hits were the two catnip toys that my sil gave to the cats. Nothing was as big a hit as those things. One of my cats is still going apecat over them.

My favorite gift received from my eldest daughter is a decorative pillow she had ordered especially made for me. It has the latitude and longitude, and name of my tiny community printed in a pretty font. It's so cute. Love it.

We all did well this year. My biggest hits were the little keychain knives from krys family company Brighten Blades. Ds is bummed because he isn't checking a bag on his way back to school, so he has to leave his behind.

@skellinton The box looked like it had damage when I got it and I thought maybe it was a used game. It was dry but had a lot of wear to the graphics. Some of the games my son gets are older versions and I thought maybe this was an older game he wanted second hand.
When my son saw it he said this game just came out what happened to the box? I said it came that way. When my son tried to open it the cardboard had all adhered to itself and when he pried it open there was mold inside.
For my part I should have returned it immediately but as I said, I thought it was an older used game. I didnt realize it just came out and was damaged.
I'm sorry if I wasnt clear.

The favorite gift I gave was this cool bike helmet; my daughter rides to work every day and she sure will look spiffy in this! ![](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0457/4065/4758/products/F5CF5505-21CA-473B-AA65-643EDB9B86B2_720x.jpg?v=1605887527) We didn't really have any misses; we did have one repeat...a game was given to my daughter but her boyfriend got the same gift from his parents.

Everything was pretty much a hit, we decided to get the kids one bigger gift, and less smaller "filler" gifts this year which worked well.
Miss: the coffee maker DH got me, did not turn on when I set it up this morning... it worked yesterday when I ran water through it (as per the instructions), so it's going back. The only thing I did since yesterday was move it to the other side of the kitchen sink...

Hits I gave others: my dad's favorite coffee, my nephew(18) good headphones, my sister's Godiva chocolate and popcorn from the place we always took our family vacation (caramel and crab seasoning popcorn from Rehoboth Beach), my nephew(20) Lego set, and I totally splurged and got the little one(13) a laptop. He loved the laptop. His list had a huge number of items that were over $100 (his philosophy is if you ask for a true wish list, dream big) ![(rofl)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/rofl.png) . I was only going to buy one of those items and I chose the laptop. Last week he told me the thing he wanted the most was the laptop. Whew... I guessed right. Neither my sister or her husband have any money so I tend to buy the more expensive items on the lists. I usually buy everyone 4-5 items but those were the ones they mentioned they particularly liked.

We aren't making any returns this year, so everything was a hit. I do ask for a list from everyone, but as I tell them, there WILL be surprises under the tree as well because it's fun for me! What surprised me this year is that both girls were most excited about shoes of all things. My oldest had a specific pair of sneakers on her list, and she was delighted to open those. I found a pair of Kuru shoes in a purple and orange color scheme on sale a couple of weeks before Christmas. I'm always pestering my youngest to take care of her feet, and figured I would give them a shot. I didn't think she'd flip out over them, but she claims it was her favorite gift. Who knew? I told both girls now they are getting shoes every Christmas whether they want them or not. A precedent has been set! ![(rofl)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/rofl.png) As for me, my family got me a couple of adorable little Mid-century-modern decorative houses, and I loved them so very much that we went back the day after Christmas and bought the rest. I threatened to keep them up all year long because I am so in love with them. This is one of the houses. I'm totally obsessed! MCM decorative house

Oooh love this thread..
The hit from me was probably the pop it thing I gave gdaughter in stocking, she's almost 2 and running a little delayed with some sensory issues and speech delay and we keep seeing her with this.
Youngest son(24) also really liked the "life is too short to drive boring cars" shirt.. other sons fiance loved the nightmare before Christmas wax warmer, I was glad it was one she didn't have yet. Son in law really happy with the tik tok battery powered salt and pepper grinder shakers. Daughter loved her waffle house coffee cup, she claims they feel perfect in hand but quickly accused me of stealing it haha, noooo they sell them haha....
I'd say the miss is the blanket son and his fiance got me that's that fleece-y stuff that everything sticks to. I really don't even enjoy touching that fabric but I love blankets and am grateful. I'll probably lay it at foot of a extra bed or back of couch where I don't touch it too often though, which is kind of sad but. . The cat will love it I bet though

All the gifts I gave were pretty much hits here this year. DD loved her Nespresso machine and all the goodies to go along (cups, syrup, chocolates). We also gave her an off-list gift of the new AirPods Pro. Even had the case monogrammed with her initials and a horse emoji. When she found out all the improvements she commented that she didn't realize that she wanted those! A stocking stuffer I gave her was a big hit - this rechargable LED Travel Mirror. DH was happy with his sweaters, though one is too small and will be exchanged. I will give him credit, he did give me some nice gifts but they will all need to be exchanged. A sweater that I do like but is too small, so will exchange tomorrow. He also gave me a beautiful pair of ruby/diamond loop earrings. Unfortunately I have chubby earlobes and they just aren't long enough to hang straight. We'll go Friday and exchange for another pair. The closest to a miss are the 3 pieces of Vuori athleisure clothes. None of them fit right, I hate jogger pants and I've never been a fan of athleisure clothing (which he knows). I know he loves his Vuori clothes but I'm not a fan. Hoping I can find something in the store to exchange them for tomorrow.

While we don't celebrate Xmas the religious way (Muslim household), through the years, we have merged our American/Arab holidays. DS only wanted online gaming gift cards...always a hit. DD is almost out of the toy phase, but she is really into Pokemon trading cards and Barbie. I got her this set that had foosball table that actually works and some other stuff in it.
Later on, DD was showing me a couple of the "rare" cards that were in the box she got. Then all of a sudden, she looks up and she says, "You know the best gift of all mommy? I still have you." And she gave me the biggest, tightest hug. GAH!!!!!!!!!!!! I just cried.
After all we went through with discovering the brain tumor and rush to surgery, DH and I are just taking in the blessing of being on the other side of it. We all went out for breakfast that morning and that for me was the best gift. Couldn't ask for more.

My miss is the pair of thongs (flip flops) I bought for DSO. The thongs themselves are awesome, we each have two pairs already. He's been asking for a red pair for a couple of years. The only red they sell is called 'coral', and it looked a bit girly to me. It's more watermelon than red. I showed him a picture of them and he said they would be fine. Anyway, they were sold out of that colour. Then four days before Christmas I checked and they were back in stock. I ordered them, paid $15 express shipping, and was very excited when they arrived on the Friday before Christmas. When DSO opened them, he said "They're pink!" Grrrrrr. The colour is exactly as depicted on the website. That's why I showed them to you first, in case you thought they were too girly. Now I'm out of pocket for express shipping, return shipping, and then shipping for the replacement pair. Thongs in question: Archies Coral

Be aware padresfan619 that if your outgoing mail goes backwards/flipped through USPS automatic machines, it could delay your mail by sending it right back to you. Return address on back is not suggested format and machines can't always tell front from back.

HIT: I give money to my kids and older grands, they prefer that to gifts, so it's always a hit, they can buy what they really want. I started this with the grands when one of them was 10, so that's the magic age for all of them. My youngest grand turns 10 next year, so this was her last year of a present. She's so excited to be joining the "big kids" and getting money from now on.
MISS: Not really a miss, but a freind gave me a colouring book and pencils - I not into coloring books. I have the perfect person to regift it to, so it will be useful for me. She also gave me a diffuser, which I will use.

These ones are long like that, it says right on the packaging that they’re good for grilling but they didn’t fit on DH’s giant man hands, LOL. The mini mitts I have in the house are those little half ones that look like hand puppets and he hates those.
