My miss is the pair of thongs (flip flops) I bought for DSO. The thongs themselves are awesome, we each have two pairs already. He's been asking for a red pair for a couple of years. The only red they sell is called 'coral', and it looked a bit girly to me. It's more watermelon than red. I showed him a picture of them and he said they would be fine. Anyway, they were sold out of that colour. Then four days before Christmas I checked and they were back in stock. I ordered them, paid $15 express shipping, and was very excited when they arrived on the Friday before Christmas. When DSO opened them, he said "They're pink!" Grrrrrr. The colour is exactly as depicted on the website. That's why I showed them to you first, in case you thought they were too girly. Now I'm out of pocket for express shipping, return shipping, and then shipping for the replacement pair. Thongs in question: Archies Coral They look orange on my screen. That stinks about the shipping cost. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/mYSUyHtG9Jrcmm_ydVcK.jpg)

Hits… DH and I gave the kids (11 & 6) a Nintendo switch. Grands and aunts gave them games. Santa bought them extra joy-cons and charging station and sports game and leg bands and Atari 50th game.
Misses- my extended family. Everyone was sick. I have lots of presents still sitting here to be gifted.

Misses: Pretty much anything we gave my dad for Christmas. It was pretty heartbreaking for me because I worked so hard. But I suspect this is more a function of his advancing Parkinson's Disease than a total strike-out on my part. He said his favorite gift he received was flavored popcorn from a specialty popcorn shop. So there's that. Wins: Every dog toy I purchased. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) I carried a big bag from the pet shop into my parents' house, and while my dog wasn't remotely interested, my brother's dog walked straight into the house, picked out the pet shop bag from among 50 or so gifts, and started systematically dismantling it and playing with every toy meant for both dogs. She was in heaven, and it was one of the brightest spots of the day. My mom was dog sitting for her today and they played with the toys the whole time she was at her house. My mom sent me the cutest photo, and my heart was full all over again. DD's Kitchenaid mixer and cookware set. To say she was elated is an understatement. She is so excited to move into her first apartment on campus next year. A substantial gift card to a craft store and a letter from DH explaining how he sees my crafting as an extension of my faith and as one of God's gifts to me. He expressed his support for my efforts and vowed to continue to support me in this regard. This shows some major growth in our relationship and I was brought to tears by his thoughtfulness.

I just have to tell about the hilarious things my mother in law sends us. She does pretty good in the clothes department. Usually. Sometimes she sends things that are too big or too small. Some are 2nd hand. I used to send wishlists because she requested them, but she usually doesn't get what's on them. Whatever, I'm thankful that she thinks of us. But she also sends a bunch of junk- notepads that she has used, jewelry from her neighbor's deceased great aunt, some random books she has read and is getting rid of. Every year she puts some candy item for each of us. This year, she sent us an opened bag of those Lindor chocolates- with all but 5 of them gone out of the bag, 😆

I love the colour but it's definitely not red

What if you stamp it on the back flap? Be aware padresfan619 that if your outgoing mail goes backwards/flipped through USPS automatic machines, it could delay your mail by sending it right back to you. Return address on back is not suggested format and machines can't always tell front from back. This happened to my christmas cards! I ordered from Shutterfly and got free return addresses printed on the back flap - that wasnt my choice, that is just where it was. I had at least 6 cards returned to me, the stamp and the mailing address were on the other side, but the side with my return address was the cancelled side. I just stuck the cards back in since the stamps werent cancelled on the one side and said "flags up, bitches!" but I was annoyed.

Everything was pretty much a hit, we decided to get the kids one bigger gift, and less smaller "filler" gifts this year which worked well. Miss: the coffee maker DH got me, did not turn on when I set it up this morning... it worked yesterday when I ran water through it (as per the instructions), so it's going back. The only thing I did since yesterday was move it to the other side of the kitchen sink... Check to make sure that outlet works by plugging something else in to it. Yeah, that. If the outlet's near your sink, it may have the built in breaker (not its technical name). Anyway, I find it hard to tell from looking when it's been tripped, so if that's part of your outlet give it a reset.

We did generally well - but I accidentally bought my daughter's fiance a woman's shirt from Madewell. That was dumb. BUT, in my defense? It was in the men's section of the store!!! I bought my son a women's t-shirt last Christmas. He gave it to his then-gf. Our only miss was the UNO game that I gave said ds. He already has 2. hehe. I offered to replace it w/something else, but apparently, he said he'll just start an UNO collection.
The big hits were the two catnip toys that my sil gave to the cats. Nothing was as big a hit as those things. One of my cats is still going apecat over them.
Whoa- there are people who only have one Uno game??? That is bizarre! 😂

Got 21 year old ds Meta Quest VR goggles. He was completely surprised. Definitely a hit. He is a junior in college. This will be his last fun present like this.
The only miss was the cup holder I got for dh for his truck. It doesn't fit.

DS got me a garage door opener for my 3rd stall and will install it, whoo!
I need to tell not to spend so much next year, although he can afford it.
He has really stepped up since his dad, DH passed away.
