I wish I knew how to safely grill food on a charcoal grill. (I am really paranoid when it comes to food safety and so like even with a Foreman grill in order to satisfy myself it was cooked in the middle, I REALLY overcooked th e outside.)

i wish i had known more about family/divorce law before my marriage ended. i would have been far better prepared with proof for the ex that worked under the table and claimed a ridiculously low amount for his earnings on income tax each year. also how co-habitating before marriage would affect my rights. my consolation is - my daughter will certainly never make the same mistakes based on lack of information that i did!

How to use chopsticks. I know I just need to practice. Everyone else in my family can use them.
How to book a cruise…or more specifically the right one. Get a good price, pick the right cabin, ship and route. I can totally handle a land based vacation but am intimidated by cruises.

I feel like there's not a lot you can't just Google nowadays. I don't need to know everything, I just need to know what I don't know and where to look. YouTube and Google are where it's at I totally agree. I’ve learned so many things from watching videos on YouTube or searching stuff on Google. I like being able to pause while I’m trying something or rewatch multiple times so I know what to do or look for. I’d like to learn more about investing. My kid is going to join the Stock Market Club in school which will hopefully help her to not be so clueless when she’s an adult.

Get an instant read thermometer. It will be your best grilling friend! You can Google what the safe internal temperatures are for different meats, then take the temp of the food. It will totally ease your mind. If you find that stuff is getting over cooked on the outside but is still raw inside, try cooking it at a lower temperature but for a longer time.

I know how. Became proficient due to all the parallel parking I had to do at the college. This has been the hurdle for my son to get his driver’s license. He will be 26 this year. Isn’t the least bit in a hurry to get a DL. And parallel parking isn’t helping.

Just generally, I’d like to know enough to competently do some home maintenance. I hate having to rely on handymen to get things accomplished. My friend has used You-tube videos to learn handyman type jobs. Pull out and replaced a toilet at home. And, what she has accomplished at her mother’s house is nothing short of incredible.

My immediate want to know is the finer points of Excel. What I know is self-taught. Wanted to take a 2 day class at a local college, then COVID hit.

I want to know how to (or rather have the ability to) decorate beautiful cakes and cookies. I get the steps but the talent is very much missing!

A lot of it is really just practice, practice, practice. This is another area where you can learn a lot for free on YouTube. I took a Wilton cake decorating class when I was about 14 where I was able to learn the basics, if you have a Michael’s or JoAnn’s I think they still do classes. Another option would be if there are community education classes many times you can find cake decorating classes. You also can find cake and cookie decorating classes online, I’ve taken some good ones through How To Cake It.

I agree with everything crazy4scraps said.
