Someone recently posted about these, thanking whoever it was who told her about them. Well here I am to thank both of you! Omg these are the best bags! I just gave away all but two of my other regular floppy ones (I will continue to use those for things like library books). But these are SO MUCH better for groceries. These came in a set of three, but the purple one is out in the car since I didn’t need three for this grocery run. I’m planning to buy dd some as a belated Xmas gift. Link for the ones I bought

do you just put the groceries directly into the bag or the bags into those bags?

Do they get heavy? Or are you kind of forced not to fill them too much so that they don't? Seems obvious, I know, but wondering why no one really mentions anything about the weight.

do you just put the groceries directly into the bag or the bags into those bags? I have 2 from my local grocery store and I put my milk, ice tea, juice, wine, 6pk alcohol in them so they don't slide around. I will also set my bag with eggs in one and any unstable grocery bag to keep them in place. Others use them as grocery bags for check out.

I'm glad you posted about these. I had actually ordered them for my sister but wanted to get them for myself. So thanks for the reminder!!

Was it elaine? I've have noticed a few shoppers using them locally and been thinking about getting those since she posted. What holds me back is that I am not sure I'd be able to lift them once they were full.

Have them, love them but because of this size I have a tendency to overfill and make them too heavy. I also have there link for cold items.

I just put the black set with red handles in my cart! I’m so tired of recycling plastic bags. So wasteful.

Those look very handy. I wish we could come up with some way to do this for grocery pickup. I often end up with one plastic bag per item. It's so wasteful.

do you just put the groceries directly into the bag or the bags into those bags? I put my groceries directly into these. This morning I took one into Giant because I didn't have a lot to buy. I went through self-checkout and since I didn't have a lot in my cart I was able to open up this bag and set it empty right in the cart. Then as I checked out each item I just added it right to the bag. I had a half gallon of milk, and several jugs of coffee creamer so I just set those back in the cart. When I got to my car I easily lifted the one bag into the car, then put the four liquid things into another of these bags. At home I was able to carry both of them into the house. Of course they might get too heavy, but that's on you not to pack them too full. I love these because of the sturdy bottom (there's a rigid bottom that folds up so you can fold the bags flat) which keeps them square.

I just put the black set with red handles in my cart! I’m so tired of recycling plastic bags. So wasteful. My town -- or maybe it was the whole state? not sure about who makes these laws, lol -- recently put into effect the bag tax. So if we use plastic bags from stores then we pay for them. I don't mind occasionally paying for a Target bag or one from our big Asian grocery store because they're excellent quality bags and I use them for trash cans, or for giving away Buy Nothing stuff. But I refuse to pay even a cent for the grocery store ones because they are crappy quality... often they have holes and rips and pre-bag tax I always doubled them because they frequently ripped right at the handle. Anyway, the bag tax was what pushed me to start using reusable bags. It's funny because I always used them at Trader Joe's, and never used them at the regular grocery store or at Target or anywhere else.

Yes, it was me! 😀 I have the very set pictured above (along with another set) - I’ve had them for a couple of years (pre-COVID). They last a long time. We use them for a variety of things now - when I need to bring things into work, for example. The hard bottom is really key: things don’t move around as you carry them from store to car and car to home (or work).

I bought similar bags from Costco in 2020- I remember that because one of my Shipt shoppers had them and I asked about them.

I use these for groceries, going to someone's place and packing things. Carried my crockpot in one for the thing I was bringing to Christmas supper. Yes they can get heavy if they put a bunch of cans all in one. So easy to pack, the clerks love them versus the crumpled up bags. Those look very handy. I wish we could come up with some way to do this for grocery pickup. I often end up with one plastic bag per item. It's so wasteful. Reuseable bags are as big of a problem as plastic bags when you have hundreds www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.6687315

I bought a set when the pea recently posted about them. I love them.
I've been using mine as my hand basket when I'm shopping for just a few things. The hand baskets have always freaked me out because they never seem clean.
I haven't had trouble with them getting too heavy to carry.

I think stores should give you a “no bag” option, and they could bring your groceries out in a bin. Then you could put them in your own bags at pickup, but that would definitely slow done the pick-up line. Another option would be to charge you a deposit on a reusable bin. Then the bin goes into your car, and you get a credit when you return it.

We have been using this type of folding box/bag for about 8 years or more. Both of our grocery stores sell them. You can get smaller ones too and freezer bags. We just put the groceries straight in. If it gets too heavy, we use the short handles rather than the long handles to carry it.

I saw them posted on an earlier thread by FreshPaper (Annie) and also asked for some Christmas, and they were then brought up again by bluebird71 (?). I actually have a couple of similar ones that I use for various things but never thought about getting them for groceries. Thanks again to all who brought them to light again.

I have been using a similar bag for several years! I have to order new ones every so often, because they get repurposed for so many thing, I suddenly don't have enough to take shopping! Things I use mine for: • Organizing my freezer - I sort my beef into roasts, steaks, ground beef in these totes. Also sort off chicken, pork, etc. This way I can just pull out totes to get to what I need and not have things slide. •Crock pot carriers. I move a lot of food around during harvest, and it gets tough to carry crock pots when they are hot. I put my crock pots in these, and just grab the long handles to carry. • "To Go" bag. Since I am always hauling meals out to the shop or other locations (plus I am the truck driver for all the grain) - I keep one of these packed with my forks, napkins, plates, cups, and condiments. This way I can just run in and grab it! • Laundry! I now use a couple of these for sorting socks, etc. So handy! I have found a bigger version that I use for laundry baskets, that makes it easier to haul my laundry up. I have a basement laundry and our bedrooms are on the 2 floor. I'll link those below! •Winter car kit - I keep a small blanket, some water bottles, granola bars and hand warmers in a tote in my pickup, incase I get stuck in the snow and need to hang out of a bit! Oh gosh - I just use them for EVERYTHING! I had a wrapping kit in one before Christmas - tape, scissors, bows, tags, etc. XL Collapsible totes - great for Laundry!

I use plastic laundry baskets. They stack. I have two in the back of my car and I just load my groceries straight from the shopping cart into the baskets. They are only about $4 each at Walmart and are easy to carry into the house. I also use them to corral other things in the back of my car that may roll around. I haven't used bags in years.

I have bags similar to these that are insulated and have a top with a zipper. They are a little smaller than this so they don’t get too heavy. I like their shape better than the Sam’s/Costco bags because boxes fit flat in them, but they aren’t nearly as good at keeping things cold so I only use them for quick trips.
I still prefer my floppy bags for regular groceries. I like being able to fold them up small and keep them in my purse so I don’t forget to take them into the store LOL.

We load the groceries directly into them and don't use bags when grocery shopping anymore.

We bought them as Christmas gifts and a set for ourselves this year. Love them.
Albertsons sells cardboard grocery boxes ( the size of a small laundry hamper) with handles on the sides. Dh uses one of those for most of the shopping he does…unless it’s a big shop.
Amazon (before Amazon Fresh) used to do grocery delivery using bright colorful plastic tote boxes. No charge for them and you would set out the totes from your last order on your porch on the day your next order was delivered. They discontinued them and we ended up with three they never picked up. Amazon Fresh uses paper bags now.
