Do these fit well in a shopping cart? I do shop and scan (scan as you shop so I can neatly organize/sort as I go thru the store) and need some bags that I can line up and shop into. Wegmans had this feature until a few months ago. I hate that they got rid of it but apparently there was a lot of theft. Rumor has it they are going to bring it back with some changes. One can only hope

I think stores should give you a “no bag” option, and they could bring your groceries out in a bin. Then you could put them in your own bags at pickup, but that would definitely slow done the pick-up line. Another option would be to charge you a deposit on a reusable bin. Then the bin goes into your car, and you get a credit when you return it. My store pickup for Fred Meyer (Kroger) gives the no bag option. They bring things out in a bin and I put them into my own in the car. That's what the local Walmart does...no bags

I love them! I have 3 in the back of my car and I put my groceries bags in them and it’s much easier to carry them inside.

I use plastic laundry baskets. They stack. I have two in the back of my car and I just load my groceries straight from the shopping cart into the baskets. They are only about $4 each at Walmart and are easy to carry into the house. I also use them to corral other things in the back of my car that may roll around. I haven't used bags in years. I use laundry baskets also. What is great about them is that they fit sideways into a Costco cart too. That way I can shop and just load them into my car. These look cool though. I may have to reconsider my strategy.

My Mariano's sells them so I have several similar ones. They make shopping SO much easier. And then I don't have to play the "how many bags can I put on my arm so I only have to make one trip from the car into the house" game.

I wish our stores offered scan & shop! That sounds so much easier - although how do they confirm that you've scanned every single item in your cart? I ordered some too, although I ordered from a different vendor because the link shown takes forever to ship to Canada They spot check at checkout. Depending on which location I’m at and how much I’m buying it usually 3-5 items. The cashier digs into my bag and pulls out a few random items to scan and make sure I scanned them. I understand they want to ensure no one is shoplifting, but there are so few registers open these days, our walmart is mostly self-scan, which my DH and I love. Even the grocery stores are mostly self-scan. If I had to stop so they could dig thru and spot check me, that would annoy me. Our Walmart has a greeter who scans our receipts, I think its for mostly under the cart stuff. Our BJs has a greeter that basically checks items against a receipt, but they don't provide bags, only boxes.

They link their little scanner gun, scan a couple items (usually the most convenient ones right on top) and then you’re ready to pay. So much more convenient than unloading the cart, having someone else scan it (or self scan, which I prefer as well), bagging it all Willy nilly and putting it back in the cart. Our Walmarts check anything not in a bag and I find that a thousand times more annoying than shop and scan at Meijer.

They are only about $4 each at Walmart and are easy to carry into the house. I also use them to corral other things in the back of my car that may roll around. I haven't used bags in years. We bought half a dozen or so large laundry baskets and a few small ones to help us with our move (30 minutes away). They worked perfectly to take over small loads and unpack them each day. Ever since then we have used them for everything, they are constantly in use. Most recently, to carry Christmas presents on a car trip, and then while opening our presents from his family we put them into the same basket to carry home. We often have one or more set aside for things we want to take with us on our next trip, just throw them in there until it’s time to pack so we don’t forget. When we go help my mom around her house we bring tons of cleaning type supplies and tools, we keep a basket in the garage to take back and forth. Picking up and then delivering things around the house. Camping. OMG they are amazing for camping. Hard food in one, soft in the other, outside toys in one, linens in another…Someone coming over unexpectedly and you don’t live alone therefore things are laying around? Throw everything into a handy dandy laundry basket and shove it in the garage! For those declutterers and organizers out there, I find it best to gather all like items before I make my decisions. These work great for that. Especially when items are heavier (like books). We use them when we move things out of a room to paint. Just so.many.uses. And as you said, they stack when not in use. I will go grab a link to the ones I’ve used. (Eta: here you go) 14.5 years of constant use and only 1 has broken (cracked on corner near handle, not sure how DH managed that). They look great too, and are super easy to clean. All that and I still need some of these bags in my life. Especially one to keep in the car for when we run errands or go shopping unexpectedly. And I think I’ll watch for them to go on sale to include them with gifts next Christmas.

Tried to find the Co-op totes on line, but I have several I picked up in store which are about that size and shape. I much prefer them to reusable bags because they stand solid in the back of my suv and keep the milk and other fluids upright. They lift easily out of the cart if you use the end handles instead of the longer side straps.
The clerks usually pack them while considering my being able to lift them. I like to keep all the fridge/freezer stuff together and then the dry ingredients/items separate. So sometimes I repack when I put them into the vehicle.

I was about to join the low/no spend group and then this thread popped up. 😂
I have a tote with wire frames that I keep in my vehicle to hold all the random things I need. My kids' helmets, 1st aid kit, wipes, extra water, paper towels, etc.
I often find myself emptying it so I can load it with groceries.
No more! I just ordered a set.

I saw them posted on an earlier thread by FreshPaper (Annie) and also asked for some Christmas, and they were then brought up again by bluebird71 (?). I actually have a couple of similar ones that I use for various things but never thought about getting them for groceries. Thanks again to all who brought them to light again. Yassss I love mine. I used them to carry my xmas gifts to my mom's house for our family gathering, and then to carry my gifts home as well. I especially love not getting any more plastic bags. Especially at the Walmart - the cashier puts 2 on top of the bag spinner and just packs my items into them. Even very tall items like picture frames or tall boxes go in there so nicely. I find them a lot easier to UN pack as well. No more mystery bags.

I may have to reconsider my strategy. Laundry baskets don't fold flat. And also, these bins have shoulder straps. I can only carry one laundry basket at a time, and I have to have the arm and shoulder strength to carry heavy groceries in, plus I need both hands so how do I unlock my gate, you know? I love these because they also have shoulder straps Plus... how would you use those while shopping? I keep my bins here folded flat so I can ipen them and send them down the belt before my purchases. I don't want to fill them up as I go.

Well, I just added these to my Amazon cart. My state just implemented the bag tax statewide, and they don't want people using plastic. I have some canvas bags I use, but these look like they will do the job well, too, and will hold my canvas bags as well. I just wish my Costco would allow me to take them in the store. I have to bag my stuff outside at the car, and in the winter that isn't so much fun. My grocery store had scan and shop for a while, guess it didn't work out well as it is no longer an option.

My Costco allows these. They aren’t much different than the boxes that our Costco makes available for “bagging” your purchases. The checkers at the door are able to easily check the items in these, because they really are collapsible boxes that are open on top and your stuff is visible, unlike shopping bags that are tall and deep and it is hard to see what is in them except for what is right on top.

I'll give it a shot next time I go to Costco after getting these new "box" bags, and see what happens.

Our Safeway has sold these for awhile. Much more now that there’s a bag fee! I like them very much!
