I really wanted to buy these, but I read several reviews where the handle strap broke right at the stitching near the grommets. The very stitching that was meant to reinforce them and make them stronger. Apparently it cut the fabric of the straps enough to where they broke right at that stitching area.

I use them mainly because of ouf wacky rules here. The state says you must pay for store bags. But a good number of our grocery stores will not allow you to bring your own bags into the store. That is relaxing some but I don’t want to play bag roulette

Mine are arriving Tuesday!
My car was broken into last week. They only took the garage door opener and my bag full of reusable shopping bags😡so I needed new ones. For the garage door opener, it’s for the garage in my building so called emergency maintenance. They came out the next day to deactivate it. I also posted on Nextdoor group for the building so everyone would know.

are they foldable? I have reusable bags from the grocery store, but never fails I always buy more than I have bags for and these look way more convenient
As of Dec 20 the whole province of Ontario has a ban on single use plastics being manufactured or sold - shopping bags, cutlery, straws, clamshell containers, takeout containers, etc
I don't think it applies to trash bags yet. Not sure what their plan is for that one

You pull up the rigid base piece (which has a handy little pull tab on it so you don't have to fumble around) and then the whole thing just folds in on itself.

Do these fit well in a shopping cart? I do shop and scan (scan as you shop so I can neatly organize/sort as I go thru the store) and need some bags that I can line up and shop into.

I do shop and scan too. I can usually get 2 of the Aldi ones into the big carts, and if needed, use one of my plastic folding bags in the area where a kid would sit in front.

Do they get heavy? Or are you kind of forced not to fill them too much so that they don't? Seems obvious, I know, but wondering why no one really mentions anything about the weight. The set I ordered is much smaller than a set I had previously which helps keep them from getting too heavy. I find the smaller ones more useful. I also use them on my stairs to corral items that need to go upstairs.

Those look very handy. I wish we could come up with some way to do this for grocery pickup. I often end up with one plastic bag per item. It's so wasteful. Albertson's uses the CA approved plastic bags - the ones you can reuse 100 times. Stater Bros uses paper bags for grocery pick up.

I usually use Cub and they use a heavier weight plastic bag for grocery pickup items. They are great bags, but I don't need 5-6 per week. And they could certainly put more than the one or two items in them--they're much thicker plastic than the normal handle bag. I like the ideas of a deposit on a bin or moving items into my own bags.

I wish our stores offered scan & shop! That sounds so much easier - although how do they confirm that you've scanned every single item in your cart?
I ordered some too, although I ordered from a different vendor because the link shown takes forever to ship to Canada

I have been using a similar bag for several years! I have to order new ones every so often, because they get repurposed for so many thing, I suddenly don't have enough to take shopping! Things I use mine for: • Organizing my freezer - I sort my beef into roasts, steaks, ground beef in these totes. Also sort off chicken, pork, etc. This way I can just pull out totes to get to what I need and not have things slide. •Crock pot carriers. I move a lot of food around during harvest, and it gets tough to carry crock pots when they are hot. I put my crock pots in these, and just grab the long handles to carry. • "To Go" bag. Since I am always hauling meals out to the shop or other locations (plus I am the truck driver for all the grain) - I keep one of these packed with my forks, napkins, plates, cups, and condiments. This way I can just run in and grab it! • Laundry! I now use a couple of these for sorting socks, etc. So handy! I have found a bigger version that I use for laundry baskets, that makes it easier to haul my laundry up. I have a basement laundry and our bedrooms are on the 2 floor. I'll link those below! • Winter car kit - I keep a small blanket, some water bottles, granola bars and hand warmers in a tote in my pickup, incase I get stuck in the snow and need to hang out of a bit! Oh gosh - I just use them for EVERYTHING! I had a wrapping kit in one before Christmas - tape, scissors, bows, tags, etc. XL Collapsible totes - great for Laundry! That's an excellent use for these bags. Ds is at school in Idaho, and brought his car to school this year. I'm going to make him a winter kit and reluctantly give him one of my bags.

I guess just trust that people will do the right thing? It's also only available if you have the store's perks card where I shop, so maybe that's another factor?

Depending on which location I’m at and how much I’m buying it usually 3-5 items. The cashier digs into my bag and pulls out a few random items to scan and make sure I scanned them.

Some more ideas:
Picnic goodies. Items you don't want in the cooler. Places, cups, napkins, silverware, chips, table cloth, etc.
Swimming gear for either the pool or beach or lake. Also pool toys or beach toys.
Fragile items you bought at a store and want to stay secured.
I have used it to take dirty items home from the hospital.
I keep my regular zip up cold pack grocery bags in one to keep organized so they aren't all over the trunk.
Place food items in going to my parents or other places so bowls, plates, etc aren't sliding around.
Dd and I set our horse riding gear and grooming bucket in one to keep the trunk clean.
Place to set plants on the way home from the nursery. Also fertilizer and whatnot.

We had a closeout store in our area that had a bunch of fold up bins like you might use in a mudroom in different sizes with cutout handles on the sides and they were super cheap so I bought a pile of them. I have a couple of the big double ones in the car for groceries and Costco runs and they work great.
It drives me nuts when I go through the regular checkout and the clerk puts only one or two items in those crappy thin plastic bags. If the bags suck so bad that you need twice as many of them to get your stuff into your car, maybe the stores should rethink that. I much prefer a paper bag and then fill the thing up! Then I reuse the paper bags for my recycling so stuff is less likely to blow out of the can and down the street when the cans get dumped on trash day.

I've been using these bags for years - love them! I have to keep buying them though because they seem to disappear (several have become permanent "camper bags" and my husband always has multiple in use for his running/hiking gear). It's so easy to organize our groceries when packing them, easy to load in the car/take in to the house, easy to carry, etc.

I think stores should give you a “no bag” option, and they could bring your groceries out in a bin. Then you could put them in your own bags at pickup, but that would definitely slow done the pick-up line. Another option would be to charge you a deposit on a reusable bin. Then the bin goes into your car, and you get a credit when you return it. My store pickup for Fred Meyer (Kroger) gives the no bag option. They bring things out in a bin and I put them into my own in the car.

I have a customer I bag for that uses these. They come from our store but they haven’t been available for a while. I think they stopped selling them 🙄
She has enough where you can store them all into one …snug.

Here Walmart no longer bags items for pickup if you select no bags. I have a ton leftover from Covid and don’t want to pay for extra bags.
I saw these earlier but thought oh I have boxes in my trunk to organize bags but thinking these will be better since they can be collapsed when I need the space vs having to move them to a seat if I need more space in my trunk.
