Yes. 1. Free shipping, and since I don’t usually need it in 2 days, I pick the no-rush rewards when possible. I use those primarily for free Kindle books or software. Last year I earned over $75 in no-rush rewards, which paid for my antivirus software and several books. 2. Generous return policy, and returns are easy. 3. Photo storage. I have thousands of photos backed up through Prime photo. 4. Prime video/TV. I don’t watch a lot on Prime, but my kids do. 5. Prime Days/daily lightning deals/Prime Outlet. I do a lot of my holiday shopping through these kinds of sales, and I also keep a list of things I want so I can watch for deals. 6. I know you can get free shipping without Prime, but the vast majority of my orders are under $25. This^^^. And don't forget the extra 10% discount at Whole Foods on their sale items.

It's irritating since the service is already so expensive. But it works out to an extra $1.66 per month so yes, I'll keep it. For a while there I was getting deliveries in 2 days, now it's back to 7-10 days so that makes me cranky about the price increase.

I will continue my subscription. For the shows alone, it's cheaper than Netflix. I don't order nearly as often as some of my neighbors--one gets deliveries more than once/day--but I do order some things. If Prime Video was not included, I probably would not continue my subscription.

Also we have a handful of warehouses newr us so things arrive quickly most of the time. Typically same to next day. I have a new warehouse that is within three miles of my house and I don't get same day delivery, and rarely 2-day. There's another warehouse 3 hours away. It's very frustrating. Still, I'll keep Prime. My daughter and I share an account. We both order a lot and stream video. We literally live down the street from the warehouse. I could walk and get my stuff that is now taking a week.

Something that you all will post about here that might be a great deal at $20 in the US will be $80 on amazon.ca. Yeah, it makes me sad looking at the American Amazon prices. They're regularly half or less than the same thing from Canadian warehouses. And availability on a lot of products is spotty or 'we don't know when this will be in stock again'.

It's worth it for me for the Whole Foods discounts alone, so I will keep it. The Prime discounts at WF saved me in the neighborhood of $800 last year, so I've got a long ways to go before keeping Prime doesn't pencil for me.
Plus, I take advantage of the free same day or next day delivery a lot.

I just looked at we already paid the $139 last year.
Now Netflix needs to stop with increases. That one I am teetering on canceling.

Nanner Amazon.ca is so pricey. I've seen an $18 item. priced at $130. Why? Who's buying it? It's not a hot ticket item. Prime went up $20 last year in Canada, to $99. We watch a few things on Prime. I don't use the Kindle free book because I have a Kobo. We have Spotify so don't use Amazon music. It doesn't take much to get free shipping, rarely can you find an item for a few dollars so the shipping isn't a big appeal. And living in northern nowhere things take 7-10 days to get here from Ontario, which is where most of the packages come from.

So, I almost never go to Whole Foods, but if I go in for a sale item, how do I prove I am a Prime member?

So, I almost never go to Whole Foods, but if I go in for a sale item, how do I prove I am a Prime member? You can either scan the in-store code from the Amazon app on your phone, or you can enter the phone number you have associated with your Prime account.

Yep. All of our extended family lives out of state and the fact that I can ship to those folks more than pays for it. We also have several subscribe and save items.

Yes we will keep paying. We stream movies and tv shows all of the time, so it's worth it. I have noticed that shipping is not really 2 days anymore. But Prime TV makes it worth it to keep paying.

I consider it’s the price I pay for my photo cloud backup and then I get tons of other stuff as bonus’s.

I just looked at we already paid the $139 last year. Now Netflix needs to stop with increases. That one I am teetering on canceling. Same here with Netflix. My DD in VA still uses my Netflix login, and my DD who lives in an apartment near campus does as well. We haven't been hit with the new restrictions on sharing passwords, yet, but when that happens, I may cancel. I don't use it that much compared to the kids, and if the kids can't use it, it probably isn't worth it for me.

I purchase for my mom all the time and have it shipped to her. She knows how to find things on Amazon, but she doesn't order enough to make Prime worth it. She sends me a link to what she wants, and I have it shipped to her.

That’s annoying but understandable with shipping/gas costs. I don’t take advantage of any of services (music/TV/storage -maybe I should look more into that but I have other things I use) but I’m going to say it’s still worth it for me. I live farther away from stores now and when you the gas + time for all these little one-off things I buy it’s very worth it. I like that I can realize I need something at 11pm or whenever and find it on Amazon in seconds and it’s here in usually 1-2 days. Rarely things take a few days longer but it’s fine for me- it’s usually way faster still than when I would have made it to a store for the item.

It is for us. We don't live near family and need to ship for birthdays / holidays several times a year. That alone covers the annual fee. Not to mention what we ship to us directly, and what we stream. Plus, the sheer convenience.

I am. We do a LOT of subscribe & save items, watch Prime videos and shows, and place a lot of orders. I also take advantage when they offer $1 or $2 for free digital content. The easy returns policy is also great.
For those that live near warehouses and still have long waits, it could be because the item(s) you want aren’t in that particular warehouse. I know I’ve placed large orders before, trying to save boxes, and I still end up with 3 different boxes from different locations. But I agree, shipping is slower these days. I’m just lucky I still get the majority of my items quickly.

Will keep. I use it enough to make it worthwhile and I do live in a big city so I get my things in in 1 or 2 days. Also there are 4 of us watching Prime.

I doubt I’ll keep it. I’m in Canada and the deals are just not as good and there really is no such thing as 1-2 day shipping where I am so makes more sense for me to run to store than wait a week for a furnace filter etc… sadly.

No. Other than Christmas, I have not been using it that much. I never get any shipments in 2 or even 3 days anymore. I’m going to cancel and see how it goes. I have other streaming apps for tv/movies that I prefer.

I'll be keeping it. I use it for my business quite a bit so really need the speedy shipping and most times I get the items really quickly--like today, I placed an order this morning that will be here this afternoon. I also use the photo storage, music and streaming.

I use it for the convenience more than for lower prices so I'll pay the increase. I can't stand to swing in to the store after work for 1-2 items so I just jump on Amazon during the day as I think of things I need... so convenient to know that Amazon will deliver almost everything within 24-36 hours. (I know not everyone gets things so fast but we are close to the Seattle hub.)

It's still worth it for us. We live near a hub and receive the majority of our orders within two days or even overnight shipping if we choose. I have a few subscribe and save items, and we receive a 15% discount on those items. (Vitamins, cleaning products and some personal items.)
We also use Prome Video daily.

For those like me that are seeing extended shipping times, is your delay with the item once it's in the courier's hands or is the delay in Amazon getting it to the courier? Because I notice that I do generally receive things within 2 or 3 days once Amazon gets the item to the courier but it is taking almost a week for my orders to even reach the "shipped" stage.

Thank you so very much to all of you responding, both those keeping and those not happy! It is all good information to know and understand how everyone is utilizing Prime.
I'm single, in my 60's, and I've had a lot of medical issues that keep me home. After reading all this, that alone is probably worth keeping Prime. I used to have their credit card, but I did ditch that a year ago because the interest rate was a bit higher than my credit union issued mastercard. My biggest gripes, probably, are that there are a lot of counterfeit products out there on Amazon, and for some stupid reason, they cut me off from providing reviews for supposedly violating some policy for which they would never explain to me what it is I did wrong. I ceased all streaming services to sites like Netflix and Disney and Paramount, etc., because the monthly fees were hurting my disability pension (food for me and the dog was more important).
I am so sorry that Prime in Canada is more like rotten eggs. I really do not understand why there has to be such a difference in shipping and fair trade between us because of 100 feet of border. I never did take economics while in school or even want to understand why some things were just ridiculous when logic to me would dictate otherwise. Now, I am rethinking about that little item for an online friend in Canada that I had thought before, "if she can get it on Amazon, why doesn't she?" Now I know why. I think I'll grab it for her, even if it does take 2 weeks to get across a border. The item is a whopping $15, so maybe that alone is worth the $20 increase in Prime to help someone out on such a small item they would like. It just has to brave the US-crappy-PS now (thanks a lot, DeJoy - not - but that is another story).
I admit I have watched Prime Video a bit, as well as using their grocery service.
I just hate that a lot of things happen during times when I wish they wouldn't, but in all, things could be a lot worse and I need to remember that.
Thank you so much everyone responding!! It really helps me.

I'm in the US. I agree with those saying not worth it. However I think you have to figure out how you, individually, use it to then know if it's worthwhile to you.
We've been Prime members for years. Originally we signed up for the shopping perks. It was great, most every item was here within the 2 days. Then in 2019ish it started slowing down. Most things arrived within the 2 days but more and more took longer. Now we're lucky if we get the items within a week.
We've also noticed a marked increase in the packages arriving damaged/smashed/ripped/wet/dirty etc. There's also been an increase in receiving the wrong item. In all the years we've been members there's been maybe twice that we got the wrong item. Did a lot of Amazon shopping for Christmas. We received 4 packages that contained the wrong item. It's crazy.
Plus I noticed, this year in particular, that very few of our packages were delivered by Amazon. Many came via USPS and others came via courier (FedEx,UPS) which really surprised me.
We do watch Prime video. However we have both Netflix and Hulu. I don't think we'd miss it. I get the first Prime reads or whatever it's called.lol I'd probably miss it a little. However lately I've found most of the books just don't interest me. The money I'd save on membership I could use to just buy books that excite me.
Then you combine all that with the fact that they offer reduced or free memberships with all the same "benefits" that I'm paying for. Yeah no, it's no longer for me.
Plus I live in a large city. It's rare I have to drive to multiple places to purchase items. Most of the everyday stuff is available in one trip to Target or Wal-Mart. Any specialty items that aren't, in my area, are generally available at another store in the same shopping plaza/mall. So while I may be going to several stores, I'm only driving to one place.
Also, as a pp mentioned, free Amazon shipping is at $25. I can't remember the last time I spent so little on an order. If I wanted/needed something under $25 I'd either just pay the shipping or place the item in my cart for later. Buy several things which would put me above the $25.
I think initially I'll miss Prime a little but I'll get over it quickly. lol I figure I can always go back if I decide it was worth it afterall. So for me, it's not worth it. I won't be renewing. However, as the peas are fond of saying, your mileage may vary. 😊

It currently costs $6.99 per month or $59 per year here (which is only $USD40 using current conversion rates). I wonder why it's so much cheaper here than in the US? That's very unusual, things here are usually more expensive. Y'all must get a lot more for your money.
