After seeing that the stamp and die I was looking at was almost sold out everywhere and wouldn’t be restocked for a month or two I almost panic-bought, but I took it out of my cart. I don’t like to make the same cards as everyone else so I used that rebelliousness to save myself $30 and keep my email address off one more company’s radar. I’ll figure out another idea using supplies I already have.

I’ll figure out another idea using supplies I already have. Same. I gave up hunting for that die I needed. I almost ordered it from Australia. Then I just decided nope. I am going to make do.

Oh my goodness. I am failing miserably at being very chilly. I am going to try again starting now.

I canceled 3 subs and kept 2 and will work on intentionality when it comes to any add ons or purchases. Working on impulse buys. Also doing th3 Ali E plan prep play class and that is helping me be more intentional with 2023 project and supplies.
This first month without the 3 subs went well! I did not cave and buy any of them ad hoc. Also working on misc scrap website buys. I’ve already seen a collection I want and would use but don’t need so working on rationalizing.
on the other end I am trying to dig into stash and use things. Definitely a WIP

I am still frozen and proud of myself! 😄 I am definitely known for retail therapy, but have resisted all year so far.
Also, I am only at 2/50 layouts, so I have a bit of a ways to go before I can buy anything anyway.

I am working on my wedding album, and I ran out of enamel dots today. I had tried to stock up in December, but they were always out of stock. So, I let myself buy this as they are now available for purchase again.
Back in the freezer I go!

I'm also doing ok so far. I've started my 50 layouts before shopping although I thought I needed to buy some of the AC retiring digi collections. Thankfully I came to my senses and closed all the tabs without purchasing anything.

This will be HARD but I have so much already and do have to remind myself this is a hobby, not a career ^ I love this statement. I am definitely verging towards having enough stash for a career scrapbooker! I was sorting through my stash to prepare for a weekend crop - I really should set a goal to use up stash before purchasing more.... I really, really should!

I haven't bought anything except some Stampin' Up stuff in the last couple of years until recently when I caved and bought a grab bag of stencils from Crafter's workshop. It was a pretty good surprise box in that I like most of them and there were only 2 of the 20 that I already had.
What prompted it was recently using stencils for a mixed media mini album. Since I'm not buying designer paper, I need and want to get back to my mixed media stuff to add some interest to my projects.
The big freeze for me is a Fabric Freeze. I've bought way too much fabric in the last 3 years or so. Now I am making myself shop my stash first and use what I have if at all possible.

I haven’t bought anything crafty since Dec. 1st. I am definitely trying to avoid craft purchases. Not only has our income has dropped, but my DD’s recent visit was a reminder of just how much I already have that I have yet to actually use.
Last week I resisted the temptation to buy a new kit from the company that is my biggest weakness, so that’s a start. I am trying to see how long I last.

a reminder of just how much I already have that I have yet to actually use Maybe we need to brainstorm strategies for identifying and using the things we have bought but haven't made good use of yet. I know I have some too... Do you keep new supplies in a specific place until you've used them? I try to keep them more visible and break into them as soon as possible but I often get distracted by other priorities.

I think Jennifer McGuire has said she has a place for new things to try and also for things she hasn't used in a while and wants to make a point of using.

I keep one or two stamp sets out on my desk most of the year, switching them up monthly/seasonally/whenever I'm sick of using the current ones that are out. It means I not only use those sets more often, but I'm also reminded to use all the other sets I own. I also pull out specific embellishments that I want to either try and use up, or just focus on using. And I always leave my new purchases out (excluding paper) until I've used them at least once.

Those are good ideas for making a point of using newly bought items.
I kind of struggle to spend time in my craft room, especially since DH became disabled. He’s improved a lot, thankfully, but I still drive him to appointments, most of which are a fair distance away. I’ve gotten in the habit of buying fun stuff, but not getting around to actually using it. When DD came to visit, I made a point to get out relatively new purchases, and chose a project we could do together (3D Instant Pop Up House cards). They were fun, and we each made one during our time together. She’s gone home, but I feel like her visit gave me a nudge to spend more time crafting. It helped me to be more aware that the money was wasted if I don’t use what is in my craft room. Crafting saved my sanity during 2020, but I spent little to no time crafting when DH needed so much care. Now that I can, I have kind of gotten out of the habit. It’s time to play more in my craft room instead of just spend more.

So far so good for me. I’ve had to stay away from this board though which is sad. I enjoyed this video as a way of reflecting on my last year of purchases…. Not going to be adding those up but just as a general idea. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8VEdFOmyN8Stay strong!

January was a major bust for me. But I am committing to February- small baby steps, right? I have two Ali subs that will show up but my goal is no add ons and no other scrapbook purchases for the month. Then we will go from there.

I have not purchased any product, aside from those enamel dots mentioned earlier. Yay!
I am currently at 9/50 layouts for the shopping challenge, too.

As long as I don't shop today, I MADE IT!!! Frozen for January! Although full disclosure, I would have broken it for Peachy Cheap this am, but I already got those stamps, at full price.

I made a small purchase in Jan, a Martha Stewart punch that has been on my wishlist for forever turned up a destash group for $5 so I bought it and am now just waiting for it to arrive.
I've got quite a long way to go on my 50 layouts before shopping, especially since I restarted my count after buying the punch last week, so I'll be frozen for all of Feb at least.

I have a monthly sub but other than that I didn't buy anything in January which I'm happy about! I have to keep reminding myself that I am more productive with less product to choose from. Hoping to really use things up this year.

I was planning on freezing in January but that didn’t quite pan out. So, I’m going full freeze for February. I think it will be easier for me because I usually don’t love Feb releases-too much valentines stuff.

I just cleaned up my desk after my last layout, and I realized I may run out of a liquid glue this month. If I do, I am allowing myself to purchase that if and when the time comes.
Something else on my necessity list that will need restocking soon are 12x12 page protectors, but I can survive without those for a little bit.

I’m in, but frosty! I have two sub kits, and am canceling one after my commitment is up this month. Plus, I’m allowing myself two modest purchases (one to use the discount code and free shipping with the kit I’ll be canceling and the other to get on-sale addons for the other kit). I’m definitely in for January, but would like to make it until the next local-ish in-person convention (which I think is in April). I’d like to make 50 pages by then too. Well, I was doing alright with sticking to my two modest purchases, then Felicity Jane got me… I have cancelled one sub and am down to just one. I plan to be Frosty in February, with a modest purchase of add-ons with my sub, and ~$25ish at SG to get the first weekend free kit. And that’s it!! (She says hopefully.) Because of my FJ splurge, I need to start fresh on my 50 pages before the end of April (CKC and then iNSD).

Today makes two months in the freezer for me, with no craft purchases since Dec. 1st, 2022. I think this is the longest I have lasted. In the past, I tried to be in the fridge, not the freezer, and before I knew it, I wasn’t remotely even near the fridge. I think being in the freezer works best for me.

My only purchase has been some cardstock. I have purchased no stamps which I consider a major victory. I’m working on a vacation album and I’ve used more stamps than I would have imagined and the number of sets I’m using for the first time… it’s embarrassing.

Welcome February! I'm still working on using the supplies I bought in November and I have 2 big projects to work on over the next few months, plus some non-crafty life stuff going on, so if I stay focused and busy I should be able to stay chilly. I just have to stop my brain from inventing things I "need" to make my upcoming donation cards. I have plenty of supplies for the current project. More than enough.

I am not frozen, but definitely need to be more chilly. I splurged on the Felicity Jane close out sale and also put in a big SU order, which I really don't need. Deleting emails or unsubscribing from mailing lists really does help!
