I second Saltwater Sperrys. I have a pair in navy on the bottom and gray leather up top.

I've been using my son's Crocs or my Sorel boots when I take the dog out, but maybe I should get my Sperry's out of storage (I mostly wear them in the spring and fall) and see if they are easier to slip on than my Sorel's.

I know they go in and out of style, but I just can’t quit Uggs.

Crocs aren’t gonna work here in a foot of snow We have a lot of snow as well I put them on if I am just going to stand on the sidewalk that is shoveled. She is getting better at being able to hold it till I can get my boots on so I have been doing that more, but otherwise I just put on what is easiest/fastest. She is on a leash so she can go in the snow and I can stay on the shoveled area most of the time, but Crocs still aren't warm. If you are actually going to be walking in the snow something taller than Sperry's is probably better.

I didn't say they were a good option for winter, just what I had been doing in a pinch (we have only had our dog for a few weeks). I was mostly thinking that the Sperry's would be a better option and remembered that I had some when others mentioned it. But I don't think they will be tall enough if you have a lot of snow and you are walking directly in it. The snow in our yard is probably higher than my knees right now in most spots, so I don't plan on walking in it. But if I had to, I would find something as high and tight on my leg as I could so the snow wouldn't get in, like Bogs winter boots.

I wear a tall Bearpaw boot that I’ve had for years. I don’t see them on the website, but they are similar to this one, although mine are a bit taller, I think. They are not the most fashionable, but they are easy to pull on and very warm, plus lined so I don’t even need to put socks on first if I don’t want to. Mine go almost to my knees, which is tall enough for me. When the fresh snow is deeper than that, I don’t really go tromping through it. ETA: I have (and love!) multiple pairs of Sperrys, but they are spring/summer/fall boots here. Nov- Apr I’m rarely wearing anything shorter than mid-calf, and if I am, I probably changed from my boots when I got there. 😂

I love my Bogs!! Ugly, but they keep my feet warm and dry. I’ve had my last pair for 5 years and they’re still working great. I’ll forever have a pair. I live on 10 acres and we currently have 2 feet of snow on the ground. These work perfectly! www.bogsfootwear.com/shop/style/72244-009.html

I had high hopes for this thread when I saw christine's question, but you all are failing me. The Saltwater ones don't have my size, and the Bog ones are too tall, and a couple of the other ones seem to have laces (hard to tell in a couple of the photos). I'm looking for a plain ordinary slip-on (or I could live with a zipper) warm waterproof boot. Not tall, because we don't get enough snow to justify it. But we get enough wet slushy gunk that I can't use my fake Uggs, which are nice and warm but not waterproof. In 11W. Impossible. But keep the suggestions coming please.

I thought I'd try them though because you never know... But nope, too tight. I meant to see if there was an Easy Spirit website but forgot until just this minute. Going to check that now. Those are nice. But honestly, I'm not willing to pay that for the little bit of snow we get here. I mean sometimes we have had blizzards -- the Snowpocalypse kind, lol -- but those are rare. If we lived in snow country I'd get myself a really good pair of tall boots like these LLBean ones. But here what we get is the kind of snow that leaves a few inches and then turns to icky cold slushy muck. ugh. So I need a warm waterproof boot that's a bit taller than ankle high but now up to my knees. And I want to be able to slip them on and off easily because I hate dealing with laces.

I have these boots. They lace up, but I have them laced loosely enough that I never untie them. They've worked well with walking the dog in the deep CNY snow.

I have a pair of Sloggers rain boots. They're an expensive rain boot, but not cheaply made. (My Target cheapy rainboots leaked!) They're easy to slip on and off. My link is to the Slogger website, but they have them at Amazon for less. ETA: I don't live in snow weather so I don't know if these would work for you.

Crocs aren’t gonna work here in a foot of snow I live on 40 acres and there are no sidewalks so crocs are not going to work. Sorry. Croc's have snowboots! My all time favorite snow boots are my Croc's AllCast 2 shearling boots. But I don't think they have them available anymore - but maybe they have something close. I wear these during the winter when we are loading out cattle. I have to wait for all the semi's to roll in and as each one loads, I have to make sure they have all the paper work needed at the packer. So I stand out there for a long time and it is usually colder than billy hell in January and February and muddy in March!

I have some sloggers that I use in the spring and fall and really like, but I don’t think they would work well for winter. Even if just wearing them for a few minutes I think my feet would get cold. I have a pair or sorrel boots that I love. They are lace-up but i have them tied loose enough that I just pull them on and off without doing anything to the laces. My sister-in-law loves her bogs. I think she has a mid length and a higher pair.

Crocs aren’t gonna work here in a foot of snow They have taller ones. I’m looking at getting a pair of them myself. I ordered a pair of the Classic Neo Puff boots for this exact purpose but didn’t get the right size so they have to go back. Word to the wise, their “free returns” are only free if you can return them in person to a store, which in my case means a 38 minute drive one way. Otherwise I have to pay for return postage and mail them back myself or pay $8.95 for a return shipping call tag, which in either case is also NOT “free.” However, they also have a more expensive Neo Puff Luxe boot that I’m also looking at that is in stock at the outlet store that I need to go to for returning the ones that didn’t fit. I live on 40 acres and there are no sidewalks so crocs are not going to work. Sorry. Can you not shovel or snow blow out a spot in the yard for the dog? That’s what I have to do because my dog’s legs are literally less than 6” long, so even a 2” snowfall is problematic, LOL. I shovel out about a 8’ square of the yard off the deck for her to go to and that’s where I stand too. I keep the shovel right next to the patio door for easy access. I have a sad worn out pair of taller Ranger boots that I can no longer get new liners for and those were my go to slip on boots for taking the dog out. Bought them at Fleet Farm probably ten years ago but they need to be replaced. I bought a pair of tall Ice Maiden boots a couple years ago but they didn’t slide on easy enough so they are at the cabin now for emergency use and I’m on the hunt for something else now to have at home. I bought a pair of Rocket Dog boots last spring hoping they would work in this capacity and still look halfway decent, but they are not the type of step in boots that I need for “GET OUTSIDE NOW!!!” access. So far the Crocs are looking like what I’ll buy because I don’t really want to spend another $120 on boots that I will likely only wear for this one purpose.

I bought a pair of those (Ice Maiden) and even with the elastic laces all the way loose they were really tight on my calves. I had to cut the elastic laces off, and then they were way too loose. These Ranger Boots are very similar to the ones I can’t get new liners for anymore. They were my go to boots for taking out the dog. www.countrymax.com/ranger-tundra-womens-winter-boot-black-and-pink/

She's lab and loves to run and play in the snow. But at times I need to 'go get her' because she can be an idiot outside. LOL
