to make swatches of all of my stamp pads. I started it but never finished it. So I don't know what I have and I can't keep buying various shades of teal because they're pretty. It's time to do this. I don't have it in my to put away the DD supplies yet. Too exhausting. And I'm not starting anything new until that's been put away. This seems reasonable to me. Anyone else setting the tiniest goals?

No goal is a tiny goal. Some are just more achievable in a shorter amount of time than others. What are you using to swatch the inks? And where will you keep the swatches?

The tiniest goal I have set every day this year, and failed each time, is to keep pants on my 2 year old. 😂
A small scrappy goal I have been successful with is clearing my desk each night.

You can do it blemon and once you do, you'll find it so helpful adding swatching to my to-do list also sarahsprettypapers - I find cleaning up after each project or at least daily really helps my creativity...nothing kills the mojo more than sitting down at a desk covered in stuff with no room to create, ime

linda Yes! Especially with young kids, when I only have a few minutes at a time to cut some paper or glue some embellishments down during the day. A clean desk allows me to efficiently scrap a small section of a layout, then run away to stop the toddler from messing with the blinds. Crafty cardio.

I need to do this too. Plus about a million other organization goals through my whole house! I've decided I need to take a couple evenings a week and work on organizing. Lately I've been plopping on the couch after work instead of being productive. I need to get out of that rut.

1. Stamp and color more critters for my Valentine's Day cards
2. Ink more card tops
3. Die cut the critters
4. Ink spray the inked card tops

Great thread! Swatching is no little job. I need to update my swatching, that would be a good job for me to do while watching TV at night. Thanks for the reminder to finish my swatching!
Beyond swatching, I need to edit and print photos (not a small task) for these first couple weeks of the month and finish clearing my desk so I can actually scrap on it (small task because I just need to dust and put away a couple of things).

Thanks for the nudge blemon - that took much less time than I expected and will be so helpful in picking colours to use when stamping as well as avoiding buying colours I don't need. And now I know that I own 43 ink pads - mainly cubes - so I really need to use them more often. sarahsprettypapers - toddlers was my initial impetus for cleaning up as I went...they're all much older now but I've kept the habit and it's useful with the kitties also. pantsonfire - I need to stamp and colour also

Lately I've been plopping on the couch after work instead of being productive. I need to get out of that rut. I can absolutely relate to this. When I want to focus on crafty organizing, I turn on a video from Jessica Grace. She not only scraps, but also has a passion for organizing. She has a series called the 20 Minute Motivator, where she chooses a small pile of things that need organizing in her craft room and essentially organizes with you. I like having the chit chat in the background, and a 20 minute session is easy to fit in at the end of a long day. She also tries out tons of different organizing products and gives reviews of them. Highly recommend!

Hmm. Yes, I’d like you to complete this goal blemon and then share it so I can see how you did it! Lol it sounds like something I should do, too. The only goal I’ve really set is to incorporate using my paper person stash into my weekly PL layouts - even just one piece a week. I’ve made a few “kits” selecting some of the PP items with other things to make it easier.

Shutterfly's unlimited pages sale runs through the 22nd so my immediate scrappy goal is to get another family album printed + this year's Countdown to Christmas album. I think I need to make a cover & back page for the family album but that doesn't usually take me more than 15-20 minutes as I make them very simply.

I am up for the Saturday sketch challenge this week so my tiniest goal it to post the sketch. Ideally, I'll make a sample layout between now and then.

I had a post about swatching some time back and am so glad I did it. I refer to it all the time! I also originally swatched by manufacturer - I can't be bothered to make separate swatches to move around, I just stamped it all on one sheet. But since I like to compare shades, last year, I went thru and swatched by color/shade and usually refer to that even more. Total lifesaver! Especially because the inks dry to different shades sometimes.
It's also great bcz can watch tv or videos.
My life is one continuous setting of tiny goals! lol
But for scrapping....I'm still working on wrapping up some pages in my blur book for last year, then want to continue going thru photos and setting up digital pages from my December trip.
Enjoy your swatching!

What are you using to swatch the inks? And where will you keep the swatches? I made a file in photoshop where I type in the brand and color of the ink. There are 9 that fit on the page. Print on white cardstock, cut. Then I've just been using a random stamp to put some color on the paper. I will punch a hole in the corner and hang them from a metal ring on my cart. I've got my simple stories shapes and my stamp shammy hanging from the cart and it's been working really well. Lately I've been plopping on the couch after work instead of being productive. Sometimes you gotta do this too. The first weeks of the year are always so busy I try to give myself some grace. I'm hoping to have the energy to do this. It will feel better when it's done, for sure. Yes, I’d like you to complete this goal blemon and then share it so I can see how you did it! Will do! My cart is a disaster so that will be my next goal. I love reading all of your goals.

What are you using to swatch the inks? And where will you keep the swatches? Not blemon but what I did was take two pieces of 8.5x11 cardstock (the same stuff I typically use for stamping/cardmaking) and divide into squares - I just used my ruler so the squares are one ruler width wide/tall. I then put the brand at the top of each square and the colour name at the bottom, I added a P or D in the top right corner to designate Pigment or Dye. Grabbed a smallish flower stamp and stamped each ink - one per square. I did by colour so all the blues are together and all the greens and so on. I don't have a HUGE collection so they all fit on two sheets of cardstock with space left. Popped them back to back in a page protector and will keep in my drawer with my ink pads etc... It was helpful to see that I really only need a grey or two but otherwise I have a good selection of colours and I'm hopeful that it'll stop me from buying colours I don't need and get me using them more often

Finish a page in my DD. I finished a 8.5x11 layout of something I just itching to scrap. First time I had scrapped that page size in a long time. Photos are already printed so hopefully I can get some time in.
Blemon,
Please share your favorite teal inks. My Heidi Swapp teal (which was my favorite) dried up and I just cannot seem to find a teal I love.

Please share your favorite teal inks. I will! I honestly have no idea what I have because everything is thrown in a drawer. Today is the end of that! (I hope).

Step 1 is done.
The inks have been stamped. Next I'll cut them up and punch holes.
Some of my inks were so old the pads disintegrated when I pressed the stamp into them. I was stamping like 20 years ago. Then at some point put everything away so I guess most kept very well.
I'm going to need a good white soon. Mine is on its last legs, poor thing.

I just realized this morning that I need to swatch my newest inks. I got a bunch on sale last November and I haven't even opened some of them yet. Of course that should've been the first thing I did when they arrived because now they've been sitting for 2 months unused, pristine.
I don't do very fancy swatching but it's helpful to have. I store my CP inks in the bundles they're sold in because it makes it easier to know which inks coordinate well together, and I just keep a card inside them with a stamped image and direct to paper smudge of each color. And I have some strips of scrap cardstock with a stamped heart in all my distress oxide colors and random cubes. I refuse to do anything more involved, however pretty it may look when I see it on the 'gram.
I also need to print out the color wheel for the spa inks. Thanks for the reminder!

I’m not hating on your goal. Also not weighing in on if it is tiny or big.
I had a wild hair up my tail towards the middle of last week. I have about 23 years of scrapbooks, and 12 ish years of DD (most are 2 6x8’s) I never settled on spine insert labels. I have two years PL albums 2014-2015 with spine labels. I just decided to label a lot of them. It’s literally scrap paper and a little ink. I don’t love how it turned out- but I like it.. so I did a number of years. I’m going to keep playing with it and maybe come up with a formula I like. But I’m happy to have SOMETHING.
Literally… small lol but happy!

Well, I joined my first challenge here and already I’m an embarrassment to the glue team!!! Haven’t done a thing. So this weekend, I will read up and participate 😁
I had set a 2023 goal of doing ONE Christmas layout a month. Having my dad and sister pass away around Christmas has really made it difficult to do anything Christmas related. But, I’m happy to report, I am caught up till May. WTG me. Lol

Everyone is welcome on the teams whether they are earning popints or not. It's all for fun and to challenge ourselves.

My goal is to spend the late afternoon/evening scrapbooking. DS is here and will take my grandson to his hockey tournament out of town. I am visiting my parents all day tomorrow, then I have Sunday morning to play. I "might" have to do a little cleaning, too, LOL.

I lead a team on a regular basis and there have been many times I didn’t earn any points or create anything. So stop with that 😉. Besides we have all quarter and it just started. 😄

My overall goal for this year is 50 layouts, so roughly a layout a week. So far I have done part of two layouts. But, I have a "date" with my favourite scrappy friend this weekend and I hope to complete at least three layouts.
The same friend and I also have a scrappy challenge going together where we take turns picking a sketch, and we each make a layout with that same sketch during the month. I struggled with January's sketch, so I am doing two layouts...a practice layout and one with the photos I had planned to use. I am partially done the practice layout (it's nothing special). I want to finish it up this weekend as well so that I can focus on the "real" layout for the rest of January.

My Tiny goal is complete one layout. I have become obsessed with knitting the last 3 years and have only managed to complete a few pages in that time.
I have also moved my craft room in that time and my adult daughter helped me get the organizing of it started a couple weeks ago. I have a pile of baskets and bins to put away an organize so I would also like to empty one of those.
